Ah. Well, looks like I didn't miss much then. I wasn't very interested with the Challenge Series even back in Most Wanted =/
As for the other cars, I've always had a slight dislike of driving another car that was not designed by me vinyl wise unless I requested it (Like in Forza)

Maybe it's just me, but the illegal-ness got boring after a while. NFS failed in connecting with the player, i never really felt "immersed" when running from the cops. I think it mainly had to do with the police being completely insane when trying to apprehend you. When have you ever seen, in reallife, a police cruiser run at an incoming driver going like 100mph ? That right there disconnected me. So, artificial "intelligence" is a big big factor.
So what's NFS answer to the driver-immersion aspect of racing? From what i've seen from Shift, i think they're finally understanding this, Things like cockpit shake, colors shifting, field of view going blurry, realistic chassis rattle; all of these things are (should be) the saving graces for the series.
I can see EA's heart in "sandbox"... but they aren't combing the right elements (Undercover being a yawn-inducing reminder). And maybe-- just maybe-- the NFS team is waking up, in regards to the vision of racing. Bottom line: The Underground name is not dead.

Shift is already out somehow... yet it's scheduled for release in about two days.
Funny thing is, I find it so difficult to get anything for World Online. Almost any discussion about it is dead.
As soon as I get my hands on Shift though, I'm looking forward to driving a few cars... hopefully the Silvia doesn't suck like it did in Undercover... maybe not crappy bodykits also -hopes for the C-West N1 widebody-

I think someone may have walked out of EA with the Shift disc.

The visual upgrading in shift is painful!
No wheel paint or mirroring of vinyls... why?
Other than that, the driving mechanics are awesome mrgreen 135i is a great little car.

I'm still having installation problems. So I can't play Shift yet. Damnit.

60 dollars and tax for NFS Shift...
And I only have 13 dollars right now.
Damn. I NEED some racing game that'll keep me entertained... and Shift is the only answer now. I've played Forza a bit too much and I'm just tired of it...

OK I hate the driving physics on Shift. That I admit. I loved the physics in GRID where the car weren't like a brick and not too loose.

It's fun when you execute turns correctly. It's actually pretty hard.
The Drifting is a total joke. Felt like i was on ice the entire time. RX7 started drifting at like 10 mph, what the hell.

the physics feel like you're driving bricks with wheels. I could not just stay straight or even turn the without swerving back and forth and spinning out. I've played around with the steering sensitivity, dead zone, and speed steering sensitivity and still can't manage to stay on the track.

I'm playing with a controller (PS3) and the cars are easily maneuverable. Be patient with the cars, and don't hammer it through the corners. What do you mean "bricks on wheels"? As in there is no body roll? Because you can adjust all of that (sway bar, camber, ride height etc) when you upgrade the suspension.
