Leila stared at the ball of snow that hit her. She looked back at James and shook her head while a smile started to show. She was surprised that her friend would throw a snowball at her. Well, he was the kind of person who would do that.
"You did not just do that. Oh, you are so going to pay!" Leila grabbed a handful of snow and chucked it at James's face.

Leila swore silently as she grabbed both her bag and James as she dragged them towards the castle. She didn't stop until they were at the front door. Even then she nearly dragged James to her class.
"Talk to you later James! See you at the Library after your detention!!"
(Sure)

(sorry but I probably won't be on for the next two days. I'll most likely be back around the the 24th or the 25th.)

Leila waited in the Library, tapping her foot impatiently on the ground. James's late. Leila doesn't like it when people are late to a appointment. She thought that if they won't want to wait for someone else to arrive after being late, then they should have the courtesy to not make others wait as well. Leila has been waiting ever since her last class was dismissed and that was nearly half an hour ago. She calculated the time of detention for James with the slimey git of a potions professor, and even then, James was late for 10 minutes. Besides being impatient, Leila has a feeling that something wasn't all right. Call it woman's intutition but Leila was getting worried for some reason. She has a feeling James has something to do with it.

Quickly deciding on what to do, Leila gathers all her stuff and walked out of the library, waving a good-bye to the librarian. The feelings were getting more and more powerful, also heartbreakingly painful, like someone was in pain. She nearly ran to where the feelings were pulling her towards and she knew, just because, that James was in trouble. She doesn't know how James might be connected to the problem or why she was feeling hurt but she remembered that James has mentioned that there were death eaters roaming around the school and they might be coming after him as well. She can't stand back and watch her friend get hurt.

She was puzzeled as to why the feelings were pulling her out of the castle and into open ground with no where to hide or shield. She thought James had detention with the git, who should still be in the dungeons under the school, unless there were dungeons that were outside on the school grounds instead. Forget about it Leila, focus on James for now. She thought to herself as she quietly slide open the doors and out of the castle.

What she saw on the open court was James, doubling over in pain as men in black robes and what appears to be skull masks on their faces. She watched in horrow as her friend was tortured on the grounds of what was suppose to be the most safest place in the magical world besides Gringotts(don't remember how to spell it). She wanted to scream at them to let him go, to stop the torture, to die. But she didn't. Instead she did what her mother taught her.


*flashback*
"Mama, what are we suppose to do when the bad guys are hurting your friend?" A innocent 8-year-old Leila asked her mother. Her mother, petite and graceful, sat on the bed of her only daughter. She stared into those big eyes of her little girl.

"You do what you have to do to save them but also save yourself. You have to attack strong but silently. You have the upper hand in any situtation. You're a female, if you're fighting against males, they will tend to underestimate you and will 'toy' with you first. Hit them strong and either knock them out or kill them. Don't let them be able to get back up again and hurt those you love." Her eyes stared off into the distance, like she wasn't looking at Leila or the wall but into her memories where she had to do just what she said.

*end of flashback*


I can't hit them all. But I can hit one before throwing on a Notice-me-not charm. Let's just hope Mao will know what I'm trying to do. Leila creeped forward until she was right behind the deatheater who was firing the cruio curse at her friend. She knew the only way to save her friend was the kill this man. She whispered the Sectumsempra spell with hatred behing it and aimed it at the back of the man's throat. The man's head was severed off from the neck and blood was sprayed everywhere. Leila quickly placed the Notice-me-not charm on and ran over to check on James.


(Leila's Guard: Mao)
He watched his Mistress nearly running towards the front doors of the castle with a look that screams fear. He knew she has a power that many her mother's family has, the intutition of a psychic but not a psychic. He followed her closely as she slid past the doors and into the open court. He doesn't like the open court, no where to shield yourself when your magic supply is down. To stay hidden, he remained in the shadows of the castle, by the door. He watched as his Lady, act like the demon she is. She was the only daughter of the Lord of the Underworld. She was taught how to protect herself since she was able to walk and talk. She was taught how to be a Lady. But she was taught on how to kill. Not by her father, but by her mother.

The moment Leila send out the Sectumsempra curse, Mao sprang into action. He took out the dagger from his boots and immediately sliced open the throat of another man. He had to flip back a few times to avoid the green killing curse as the wizards began their attacks.


(Leila)
Leila looked to see her guardian, Mao holding off some of the men. She turns towards James and made sure he was breathing alright. "Oh god, James, what happened to you?"

(Merry Christmas to you as well)

Leila saw the sign of the killing curse coming from James's wand but at the moment, all that mattered to her was James's health. His body was brusied and Leila didn't know a lot of healing spell. Why didn't I listen to Mother when she offered to teach me! Leila looked up and saw Mao breaking the neck of the last of the two death eaters before coming towards her. She need his help if she wants James to live to see the next sunrise.

"Mao, I need your help. I need you to hold onto James while I transport us to the Hospital Wing while I transport us there through the shadows. I can't hold onto him while doing it. You're strong enough to hold onto me and onto James. Please."

Leila plead towards Mao, even knowing that he has a small dislikement towards humans. How he was able to stand being around her mother and her siblings is something her family wishes to know. But now was not the time to wonder. Now was the time to get James to safety.


(Mao)
Mao had to stop himself from gagging as he wrapped an arm around the human and attach an arm on the shoulder of his mistress. He knew his mistress has a soft spot for his human so he was not about to insult him but that does not mean he cannot show his displeasure in other ways. His eyes for one.

He watched as his Lady quickly made the hand signs as well as say the correct words for a three-way shadow transportation jutsu, for lack of a better word. He felt the shadows climbing up his body and saw darkness for a moment before light came again, and they were in the Hospital wing. He felt his Lady falling. Doing a shadow transportation jutsu for three people is hard for a full demon, let along a half-demon. Lady Leila would have fell onto the ground if it wasn't for Mao's quick reflects and caught her.

He put the human onto the bed and placed his Lady onto a bed near the human. He knew she would react badly if she didn't see him once she wakes up. Once he knew that they were both settled, he went to search for the nurse. He would drag her to the human if he has to threaten her by killing her children in front of her.

Leila had woken up in the middle of the night, not being able to go back to sleep again. She had tried for several minutes but nothing seems to put her back to sleep. Mao had wanted to give her a small dose of the dreamless sleep potion but she didn't take it. She just left the potion on the counter. She sat up, back against the pillows and eyes staring at the wall opposite her. She didn't respond to anyone, not the nurse or Mao.

I killed someone. I have never directly killed anyone before. What would James think of me now? What would Father think? What about Mother? I killed someone.

She heard James awaken but she didn't do anything. She just sat there, staring at the wall. She wanted to say something, but she knew, the moment she opens her mouth, she would break down. She wasn't about to break down in front of her friend. She wasn't about to break down when there's more to do.


Mao
He watched his Mistress as she sat on the bed, motionless. She hasn't eaten anything since she woken up. She haven't say a word since she has woken up. She didn't do anything except stare at the wall. He has to find a way to snap her out of this trance of her's. Mao noticed that the human has awaken but his Lady still didn't react. What can he do to help?


(should i have a profile for Mao? he seems like he would stay in the story longer than I had first thought.)

Mao
He watched as the human continue to struggle to get up. He was impressed that the human was still awake. He knew how painful the Crucio curse can be. When he was training to be a Commander to his Lord's army, he was trained to survive under pain and pressure. He was placed under the curse daily until the feeling became only a small annoyance to him.

Mao debated whether or not he should help the human. He was impressed with him, yes, but he was a human. But what about the Lady? Isn't she part human? Mao debated for a few minutes on what to do.

Finally giving in, Mao showed himself to the human. He ignore the look the human gave him and picked him up gently. He placed the Human into a chair next to his Lady's bed. After doing so, he disappear back into the shadows to watch over the two.

(Leila)
She heard some noise onto her side but she didn't pay it much attention. Besides, the sound was very muffled, like it was going through water before she could hear it. She felt the air moving but she paid it no mind. She saw something happening in the corner of her left eye but she paid it no mind. She just want to curl up in her bed and ignore what happened and just call it a nightmare instead of accepting it as reality. But she knew that can't happen. But she can hope, can't she?

Leila was just looking at the wall when she felt a hand on her face. It’s warm. Leila turned her head slowly towards the person whose this hand belongs to. She came face to face with James. She saw how tired he was, how much pain he was in. She wanted to take that pain away from him. But she can’t. She’s not powerful enough to transfer pain yet. She just stared at him, her eyes dead.

”What is wrong?”

Leila wanted to cry. She wanted to cry for her friend, for herself, for everyone. James was too kind. He was worrying about her when he was the one who was in pain. Why is he so kind? Why is he so strong? Why? Leila’s thought kept going around in circles. She didn’t voice anything. All she did was close her eyes and lean into James’s hand. Her temporary comfort.

Leila moved over in the bed a bit and tugged on James's shirt. She tugged harder when James didn't move.
