Hikariaya Gackt, Malice Mizer, Dir En Grey. I must have listened to just those 3 bands constantly for a week straight before I went and found more bands. i know what youre talkin about. its kind of hard to move on and find other bands.

kaidan... ? plastic tree was i think the first thing she showed me... Aoi Tori PV? possibly... but the first things i DL was Malice Mizer stuff... eek

I think the only thing that she showed me that i didnt like was the Shingo Mama song the one thats all "Ohaa!" gonk now that was scary... sweatdrop

Well I'm a huge anime fan so I was into just anime songs. Back in 10th grade, my friend, who was an army brat, had lived in Japan and she recommended lots of J-pop and J-rock.
She wrote down a list of artists to get into (Dir en Grey, Malice Mizer, Psycho lé Cemu, Two-Mix and L'arc én Ciel)
Diru especially cause they made a song titled Jessica and that's her name. ^^
But yeah, she started me off on her Laraku's Best 13 clicked singles cd and I was hook'd. Later on, I got high speed internet and started looking for all the things she had on that list. Probably why I'm so behind, cause I'm still seeking out all the old stuff. sweatdrop

My best friend sent me "MASK" by Dir En Grey, and from then on, I was hooked. xd I think she found it via a typo. xd

I'm not sure why I didn't see this earlier....
Well, I've been a moderate anime fan for a while, so I was probably hearing J-Rock before I knew what it was. But what actually got me into J-Rock was a CD a friend gave me that was filled with mostly AMVs, but had a few songs by Malice Mizer and Dir en Grey on it. I just sort of went from there.

I downloaded a few Dir en grey PVs b/c I was curious. I've heard a few things about them a year or two ago and finally decided to see what the fuss was all about.
