@ Alanya: Lol! I like those doodles on the last one! xd
@Memai: The light on the hair looks a bit too.. it stands out a bit. Err, maybe it should be a light purple or something. Sorry, I'm not very good at critiquing. And maybe do something about the squares? I don't know. Unless that's part of the effect. Just ignore my ramblings. I'll go now. ninja
Sorry.

I've only got a black background so that the white feathers show up. And of course: CRITIQUE PLEASE!! If you make the wings light blue or some other light color, the background doesn't have to be black. Also, it might work better if you drew the outlines of the wings and then colored the insides. Drawing each feather individually is very time-consuming and doesn't usually achieve the look you want unless you know exactly how wings are constructed. I think you might really benefit from making the eyes symmetrical; balancing the features in the face is an important part of making it look real. Hope that helped somewhat.

hey i would love some handy critique on my latest piece. it took me quite a while and i guess its the first piece i've coloured and been satisfied with how it turned out. if there's any ways anyone can think of to improve it i'd be mighty glad to have it pointed out to me. it doesn't say sample because i don't trust you guys...just the only version i can locate right now. i hope it doesn't obscure too much, if so i'll get you the clean version. thanks x

Picoli, I am most pleased with the colors on her! heart
However, there is one I would like to point out, and you want crits that help. Here I go....
Proportions.
I am no huge anatomy master, but I can tell that her arms are longer than normal, as well as her legs. She looks off-balance. With her arms like that, they would reach beyond her knee, making her look unnatural.
Also, the blades are very big, and they would fall if the other parts of the weapon were made of wood. If she can hold such a big weapon, give her a bit of muscles on her arms.
I surely hope it helps. 3nodding heart

hmm, come to think of it i can vaguely see what you mean...the horizontal blade would definately tip over where she is holding it. But i never liked the arm in that place anyway...thankyou very much...

Good afternoon to you all... smile
Anyways, just wanted to ask if some of you could do me a favor. I need someone to look at some art that I've done for an upcoming project that I'm working on. I really need some last-minute critiques or comments so I can have a general idea on how the character will look. My project is a comic book entitled, "Jen." If any of you have the time, come take a look. smile
Samples are provided below:

Thank you for your time...

@Picoli: Her head looks a little small, thats all I can see offhand. But yeah, the anatomy needs a bit of work. But the colouring is great! Although I can't help feeling the hair looks a bit strange when it changes colour, but still amazing.

FLCL>> In your Concept Art picture, the hand on the left looks very awkward, especially the pointer finger with its strange "U" curve from the middle finger. Also, the right shoe has an unusual shape at the front of the it. (The part that looks like a rectangle, it doesn't mesh well with the rest of the shoe, in other words, it looks out of place) Those are the only things I notice, the rest of your work looks great. It reminds me a lot of Invader Zim and the Bones comic. 3nodding Picoli>> I agree with Deuxia here, the proportions of your arms and legs look a little too long. (but their placement is quite good!) The best way I can see to fix it is to do what FLCL suggested...make the head bigger! Otherwise, it looks pretty good. 3nodding Now I Request Help On One of My PiecesI'm doing some complimentary artwork for a friend, and need some insight from whomever wishes to give it. My main concern is her gloved hand and the fact that their is no background. I'm not exactly sure how to go about creating a good background for this work, so any suggestions would be appreciated. (along with any other comments whee )

FCLC - the way her head is her other eye would show, thats all i can really say...other than the evangelion posters rock my frilly little sox off xd
Ashram_VII - a cute little pic whee but if you have any black lines it's best to try and keep them as smooth as possible...and your colouring is good.
eek and i just kicked into 'super-effort' style drawing for commissions i've started taking so i need new crits.
i love the boots on the left-hand guy so no number of crits on those will get me changing them...but everything else is up for changing.

Picoli - First off, I have to say I massively envy your inking skills. Is that real media? Digital? Magic? The smoothness of your lines astounds me. x__x
Just a few things that I see that could use a bit of tweaking: - The guy standing on the left seems to have a pretty curvy waist. If you could straighten out that line that leads from his armpit down to the bottom of his shirt, he'd seem more manly. - All of the guys seem to have clenched fists, but the ones where the back of the hand points towards the viewer bug me a little bit. Their thumbs seem to jut out a little unnaturally, and they seem to lack overall definition as hands. (I don't know if you're going to color this, but that probably would be taken care of with some good highlight and shadow.)
Er... that's about it. I wish I could draw guys as well as you do. Such manly men!... crying

Secondly, hehe i take it you noticed the ol' copy-paste-rotate on those fists. Im just lazy. And i'm in the process of colouring it all up nice and perdy. I hate colouring though, so don't expect musch justice to be done.
Thirdly, thaaaaankyou whee for awesome and helpful crits. It is so very appreciated *hug*
