Seth glances up at Werlis, frowning lightly as if he was accused of this. "I didn't do this. It was that man. . . He cursed her and it is acting up again. Something happened, I think it was the sun." Seth said quietly before looking down at Lina when he heard her scream. He could feel tears beginning to form in his eyes and he couldn't push them back. He wanted to help, but he couldn't.

Werlis gets up quickly. He shuts the glass doors of the balcony and pulls the curtains closed, plunging them into darkness. He waves his hand, a fire forming in the fireplace. He shakes his head, trying to get his own senses working right again. "Not just the sun. She can't be allowed to go outside."
Lina turns her head to the side, her tears falling quite freely now. The pain is lessening, but is still there. She can't help but just lay there and cry.

Seth looked down at Lina, placing a hand gently on her cheek. He wished he could lessen the pain she was feeling, he wished he could remove the curse. But he didn't have that strength, not yet anyway. "He will pay for this." Seth said quietly, looking down at Lina.

Lina closes her amber eyes. She doesn't want Seth to look at her. Doesn't want anyone to look at her. She's even more useless now than she was before the curse. Now all she can do is lay here crying, making more and more tear shaped jewels.

Seth placed a hand on Lina's cheek, running his thumb against the soft skin of her face. "Please, don't cry." He said quietly. He wanted her to smile, he wanted her to be happy, but he knew it couldn't happen so long as this curse was still on her.

"Why shouldn't I?" Lina's voice is soft and sad, chocked with her tears. "I can't do anything right. I couldn't even end my pain to end yours. I am useless, worthless. I will forever be at my father's disposal."

Seth shook his head, a small smile playing across his lips, but he knew she couldn't see it. "If you had succeeded in ending your life, what do you think would have happened to me? I can deal with the pain, so long as I have you to help me through it. . . Without you the pain would be too great." Seth said quietly.

"But you can't deal with the pain.." Lina looks up at him though it is pointless to do so. She can't see him no matter how much she wants to. "If you could, you would not have stopped Werlis from escorting me away..."

Seth sighed lightly at her comment. It was true, he did step in the way because he knew it would hurt, but he didn't do it for him alone. It was for many reasons, one just happened to be a selfish one. "You are right. . . I did step in the way because of the pain it would cause me. But not because I couldn't take my pain. . . It was because I don't want you to suffer this way that I stood there, that I spoke as I did. Not for me, but for you." Seth said quietly.

Lina manages to reach up and lay her hand on Seth's cheek. "I don't feel the pain they cause me, Seth. Ask Werlis. He'll tell you."
Werlis is sitting in a chair, watching over them. His wings are gone now, like a dream. He nods at her words. "It's true. She had a natural talent for detaching her mind from her body. I taught her how to properly use that talent. She's quite good at it really."

Seth shook his head lightly and placed his hand atop Lina's. "Physical pain is easy to deal with. However, the mental scars it can leave are something healed much slower. I know it would hurt, it was clear in your face. . . That is why I didn't move Lina." Seth said quietly, lacing his fingers with hers.

A small smile finds its way past Lina's sadness. "I was not worried over that, Seth. I can completely detach from my pain. I was worried for the pain it would cause you. I knew it would.."

Lina closes her amber eyes. She more than likes his touch. Loves being so close to him. His words though.. "But, Seth... You said that you can't.. I understand. Really."

Seth closed his eyes and placed a gentle kiss upon the back of her hand. "I only keep my distance for fear of hurting you. . . But if Werlis were to teach me, I am sure I could learn control over this power." Seth said quietly.
