Well, as Captain you're kind of the mother of us all... *grins*
Good to have you back safe and sound! We look forward to hearing all about the trip, and seeing the pictures!

I'd rather just be called Captain in one way or another. I'm not a maternal figure in the slightest and it makes me feel WEIRD! eek
My pictures are all up on facebook.

Since you're a fan of tall ships, have you ever been to Chicago to see the tall ships? Its amazing, I highly recommend it if you've never been.

Fire_Phieonix Since you're a fan of tall ships, have you ever been to Chicago to see the tall ships? Its amazing, I highly recommend it if you've never been. I'm in the UK, so, no I haven't been. Would like to though.
However! I have my placement reserved for the second leg of the tall ships races. The Tall Ships Youth Trust don't usually hold places for anyone, but I guess they're doing it for me as they know me now. I just have to find the funds. The trust and the local branch are giving me money for it, but I just need a sponsor now. I'll have to let them know this week about that.
The first leg goes from Liverpool (UK) to Maloy (Norway). Then there's a cruise in company to Bergen (Norway). Then the second leg starts from Bergen and finishes in Den Helder (Holland/Netherlands).

Sadly, the race was going to cost me too much and I had to let my placement go. *Cries.* However, I'm doing the voyage after that one. So...whoo still!

A month and a half till I go again! Whoo! I really need to get my transport over to Den Helder sorted though.....and the travel insurance.... Damn....If I have to change trains at Amsterdam, what the heck to do....blarg.
Anyway, I'm hoping to go again three weeks after that if I can get more funding!

First of the two voyages will be starting this Thursday and I won't be home until the 29th. Then, I'm off again on September 19th for another week. Yay!
Oh yeah, I'm also going to be volunteer crewing for an afternoon on the Dutch brig, Mercedes at the Great Yarmouth Maritime Festival. You can find out about her on Wind is Our Friend - Mercedes & Adornate.
Here's a picture of Mercedes...

She certainly is beautiful, but I think Stavros S Niarchos and Prince William have more grandeur.
