He shoots up through the leaves, each one brushing past his body. He kept moving, each step on a different branch, taking each stride like a jump. Reaching a tree without branches that could take his weight, he clutched onto the trunk, and hung from the tree, and within a moment, he pushed himself off it, his legs springing from the bark, leaping backwards into the air. He continued his journey, smaller branches smacking him, each blow more intense has he moved faster, almost running on the large branches than jumping from them. He took one last dive, as he landed on the undergrowth below him. Gasping for air, he took his bow and eagerly placed an arrow, and shot a falling leave. Still breathing heavily, he pulled his arrow from a fallen tree, and took of the leave before continuing on his journey by foot. The amount of noise he had made was great, but it didn’t bother him, thinking that he was alone once again in the forest.

*his camp had been small, yet sufficient. josh was in a bad mood, not his usual happy go lucky self, since he had woken he had been feeling his wound on his cheek, 4 deep claw marks ran down, each had scabbed over with dark platelets, josh scowled as he touched it. he now had another hate in life, vampires to add to the bane of his life already.. the orcs. disregarding the vampire for the moment he concentrated on how to stop the orcs, and he decided the only way to , would be to get to the mountains before they had assembled, now without his party members, he might have to do a lone mission. josh packed up and armed himself, then continued on the path throught he forest towards the hills*

He suddenly leapt into the air. As he waited, his heart beating faster, the elf appeared through the trees. Both elves remained motionless, as each one heard the others presence. As his foe stepped into the light, he jumped from the branch, landing opposite him. Neither of them spoke as they eyed one another, barely breathing. Each archer slowly took their bow in hand, now was not the time for words, he had no reason to be curious any more. Both in synchronization, each taking an arrow form their quiver, each holding their bow tightly. Like a game of chicken, neither moved when the arrow was pulled back on the string. Silence. Both let out a deep breath, before jumping backwards and letting their arrow fly into the ground where their opponent stood a moment ago, then each one fired another whilst in the air. As each one landed, they both fell to their knees. He let out a huge whimper, the pain rushed to his chest. The blood fell to the ground quickly, he hated pain like this. His rival clutched his chest in pain; both had hit each their target. He took a small leaf from his pocket and chewed it quickly, trying to numb the pain to continue fighting. The other elf, slowly stood to his feet, and reached for another arrow. Still chewing on his leaf, he raised his head and pulled a dart from behind his ear. Both faced different directions, breathing heavily, wanting to fight. Each one twisted round before falling on their back, the dart and the arrow missing their targets completely. They both lay in the dirt, trying to pull themselves up. He lifted his head slowly, trying to check if his target was still alive, and for once, he smiled. The older elf, raising his head, burst out with laughter and spoke “We are both skilled fighters are we not? Why fight each other like we have something to prove, this is what happens.” The young elf, stared at the sky for a moment. He didn’t want to admit it, but the older elf was right, he had nothing to prove, and nothing to gain. “Who taught you how to fight like that? You’re useless with those darts ya’ know.” The young elf’s smile grew bigger, “You not good with those arrows either.” Both began laughing, still facing the sky. “Yeah well, I got you with the first one didn’t I? You just got lucky the second time round. I’ll beat you next time.” The young elf lifted his heavy body as he sat up, holding his stomach. “You must get up first. You can’t fight me whilst on your back.” “Oh yeah, just watch me!” He pulled out another arrow and threw it at the elf without any force, and it fell to the ground at his own feet. They both stood up, each in pain, but not wanting the other to know it. They faced each other, smiles from ear to ear, and continued down the path to the north.

She had heard Tahaya bring Ranae over and she had been awake briefly. 'Well thats wonderful...now she knows the vampire has a human older brother...can imagine whats next...' She wondered why her brother had been so desperate to keep Kyo as her bodyguard to protect her from this "new danger". The fire that was made last night was still going and she sat up and ran her tongue over the points on her teeth. She knew she was definitly hungry and she needed blood. Looking around frantically, she couldnt find Lin, and she got up as she started to panic. As she ran through the forest looking for him, she noticed her hands were getting clammy, as was the rest of her skin like it had the night before, and it was noticable.

Rayne stopped for awhile seeing that he was somewhere in the north east area of the forest. He stood there for awhile seeing that the way to the orcs might have to wait. He started to scan his surroundings to see if anyone is nearby. Hmm....maybe I should alert my elven brethrens to take care of the orcs...I might as well see what is going to happend..in Osaka...or maybe I should just keep going to see where the orcs are...no matter...the orcs can be taken care of....they are just orcs....I'll just go alittle later... He thought to himself as he leaped from tree to tree.

She had been searching for Lin for what seemed like hours, yet she couldnt find her fellow vampire anywhere. By now, her skin had paled even more and she had broke out in a cold sweat. Now, she feared being murdered for being a vampire, she was scared because she couldnt find Lin, and she was thirsty for blood, but since she was only changed yesterday she didnt know what to do. Her gold eyes had gathered tears as she stopped in the middle of the forest in a clearing, not knowing what way to go. She wanted blood...more like she needed it, but she also needed Lin's help, but after near hours of searching, she still couldnt find him.

Ranae woke to a sharp pain in the spot right below the middle of her rib cage. Moaning softly as the waves of pain rolled over her, leaving her numb in their absence. Her fingers reached up to the spot where the demons rusty blade had peirced her, and she felt dry crusted blood running all over the front of her shirt. She herself was baffled at why she hadnt already bled to death. Somewhere in the back of her mind she wished she had, if only it would take her out of this horrible pain that had paralyzed her body to the spot.

She finally gave up looking for Lin, even though she was on the verge of collapsing, knowing she needed to drink the blood of some creature, animal or human. She headed back to where her brother had lay her down to sleep the previous night, and she thought she heard Ranae's moan and she approached her and stood over her with her arms crossed in front of her.

Ranae heard whoever or whatever it was approach her, though she couldnt tell who for her senses had weakened just as much as her body. She lay there, making no noise but for her short ragged breaths. If this person was an enemy, then there was nothing she could do. They would kill her on spot. And if this person was a friend, then they would help her. That is if she wasnt already too far lost. From the excrusiating pain that had spread throughout her entire body, she suspected her wound had become infected.

She remembered what she had been taught when she was younger in how to heal people, and she figured it would still work even if she was a vampire. Her hands began to glow in silver and she kneeled beside Ranae and put her hand to the wound and began to heal it. She figured Ranae would be able to tell it was her and once she finished she stood up and backed away with her arms still crossed. "So Ranae...I see you've met my brother...."

Ranae struggled against the healing at first, fought it with all her might. But then she remembered back when her grandmother used to smack her over the head with her fan when she fought the healers. So she lay back in the cool grass and accepted it. She felt as Rins hands moved gently over her wound, bringing a cool soothing feeling that numbed her body. When Rin backed away once more, Ranae still lay in the grass, healed but still weak from bloodloss. At Rins words, Ranae frowned in concentration, struggling to remember the man that Drum had taken her to. But the memory was so faint. She lay in the grass, taking in the deep fresh breaths of air that had replaced her shallow ragged ones. She did not answer Rin, instead saying in almost a whisper.

" Thank you..Rin.." She smiled faintly as her blind eyes stared unblinking at the sky.

"Yes...your welcome...." However, it wasnt said with the most sincerity when she felt her stomach lurch and she broke out into another cold sweat and her hands became clammy. She had smelt Ranae's blood while she healed her, which made her need for it even worse. She watched as Ranae lay there healed, but she could still smell her blood. Approaching her with caution her ran her tongue over her fangs. No longer could she resist, she needed blood and she needed it now. She bent down, grabbing Ranae by the arm and pulled her up bearing her fangs.

Ranae closed her eyes tightly as she rolled over, violent coughs erupting from her throat. After awhile they finally subsided and reality hit her. She was in the middle of nowhere with no cane or guide. She had no idea where to go or what to do. SO she just lay there, not to moving for fear the coughing attacks would take her again. She was still in pain. Not from a sirface wound, the pain was deep inside her, a sickness, pulsing, waiting to take her weakened body.

She saw that Lin would not come to her calls and her breathing was ragged. Her pupils had gone into slits and her brilliant gold eyes started turning red as she looked at her surroundings. She stood up flexing her claws and silently made her way back to Ranae. She needed blood, she wanted blood, and she smelt Ranae's. Spotting Ranae and seeing how weak she was she approached her with caution. When she was standing directly over her, she grabbed Ranae by the arm and pulled her off the ground, bearing her fangs making a hissing like noise.

((There hope you two are freakin happy stare ))
