Maybe we could start recruiting people into the guild...maybe some giant scheduled RolePlay on the public forums. We'd advertise...people would get interested and check out the guild. Yeah...thats my random spurt for the day. 3nodding

Okay... Limited time here since AOL is such a b***h... So, short and sweet, can someone tell me exactly what's going on? I skimmed the last few pages, so I've kinda got the jist of it. But I'd like it explained so that I'll be caught up. Then, I can give my opinions too! (Yay!)

From what I've gotten, I have this much to say. If we're going to stick with an AU, the plot stuff could ork either way. They each have their pros and cons. Post FFVII could be problematic because there WOULD be referances. Personally though, I like Kim's plot a lot. But Wutaian War would be cool too. But much harder to put together. It's a war. Where do the Turks come into it? They aren't really soldiers... Maybe I'm just daft. If Souyu has some sort of plot for the Turks specifically in mind, I'd like to hear it.

I'll be back when I can! Sorry if I sounded too demanding or anything! sweatdrop

The new ShinRa branch in the southern Hemisphere sounds brilliant. I was making a story somewhat similar to this last year. But it had a mix of Trinity Blood and FullMetal Alchemist into it. Maybe we could take bits and pieces from other animes/games/stories to make it our own. Though in my opinion, I don't think the new ShinRa branch should follow the old/previous one (i.e; collecting Mako/new resources, etc.). Instead of a resource facility, it should be something different. Like a Military organisation or something (Keeps order of a certain country/continent. Just elaborate...)

A War isn't relevant. We're Turks for heaven's sake. We do espionages, go on missions and assassinations. So maybe in this AU, the Turks are more involved in black arms dealing? or protectors/bodyguards/etc. of some Powerful bad guy thats corrupting the countries and such in the southern hemisphere. And that this rivalling organisation are the ones trying to stop us. Like Souyu said, 'We aren't the good guys'.

Visiting as often as I can would be a problem since I live halfway across the world from you. But since I got a two week school break, late nights would be relevant I guess >.>

Come on, guys, we have to talk about organization! Or do you want me to do everything myself?

::sigh:: I think we've all decided to drop the idea of the Wutaian war--the primary reason I suggested it is that I think--Ater can probably correct me--that's around where the guild started before.

In any case, I think eliminating the significance of most of the main characters from the game is the best idea.

I haven't really played the game, so how would I know how those things work gonk If it provided some basic how to do, what goes where, what is this item for, what it does, bla bla bla...

then maybe I could at least understand... gonk

Yeah, the guild starts around the Wutai war, though even we weren't there for that. We came in around the first assult on Shin-Ra HQ.

Staying with the current plot is all fine and dandy since people can have a sort of direction, but really it's all gonna boil down to who wants what.

Thing is, we need to recruit a large number of new, serious rpers, and it's going to be much easier to do that if we're just starting than if we continue with the plot, which is sort of drying up, anyway--fewer and fewer people are playing in it.

In any case, I fully intend to keep Ehren, which is another problem for me with the future RP idea--I envision him as being dead at that point.

To be frankly honest, and no the sleep deprivation is in NO way affecting this post, we don't like masses of RPers 3nodding

This guild is small. We think it may always be that way. But with it being so small at least you get to know people on a more personal level, in and out of RP 3nodding

Really, we find it hard to remember everyones backstory, abilities, stats and all the likes as it already is. If there were more RPers, we'll die gonk

Though, a few more RPers, like about three at max would be ok, as long as they could be counted on to post regularly. Because right now, this guild we think isn't in the midst of a lack of people, it's in the midst of a lack of posting. Sure there may only be three people active at the moment, but hell, you can do it with two if you're desperate cool

So, to come to a close:
People, recruit a few good RPers. Ones that will post often and well. And don't procrastinate, if you can post in the OOC you can post in the RP too. Yes, we're gonna start editing out all the OOC that's in the RP. It WAS a rule Wydda laid down, and we're gonna enforce that when we've the time to do so.

Alright people, lets see some RP!
PostPosted: Sun Jun 04, 2006 9:28 am

But there's only... really five people who are active, Ater. I think we should at least try to double that--or what's the point in having a guild? And obviously you wouldn't have to know the backstory of everybody if your character doesn't know theirs all that well, or their stats, etc.

I'm not saying we should get big, but we're nearly dead the way we are, so we need to branch out some more.

If it's too small, things start to get bland, and people don't want to post, because everything gets too predictable. We don't want a hundred members, but we don't want three, either. I'd say somewhere between eight and fifteen active members, depending on the number of characters being played by each member, would be desirable.

I think we may also want a couple of people playing important higher ups, such as Hojo, Heideggar, Reeve, or Rufus. I may take on Rufus myself, actually.

We need a few good RPers who will be dedicated and active, so that we don't dwindle down into this state again quickly. And that kind of person is extremely difficult to attract to something as entrenched and slow moving as our story is.

I don't think we need to get rid of our characters--we could always change if people want--but I do think we need to start over. And, I don't know about anybody else, but I kind of want to start over. There's so many elements that have just been left off from people who have dropped out of the RP that haven't had any kind of close, and never will, and some of them have figured in very large in the past. The Jenova cells, Kazuo's backstory, those neo turks, Evil and Evil's relations, gangs, and whatnot...

I just think it would be best to start over with this new group, since the old one has more or less retired.

So, we just need to find worthy RPers to replace the old ones? Not actually replacing them of course, just getting it back to a decent number of roelpalyers instead of having 3 RPers on. I think we should finish what we started before starting over. Once we finish this story, we'll start over with a new one, thus, the nomination of a new Guild Leader. Then everybody will be happy ^_^

So right now, lets just finish up what we started.

Finish? First of all, where does it end? When AVALANCHE gets captured? When Sephiroth kills Shinra? When Rufus fights Cloud?

And all these events are just the preliminary beginning to an entire arc.

Alright!

1) New RPers

I agree with Ater that we want to keep the guild small but Souyu has a point: if not enough people are Rping, it gets boring.

So, I suggest we try to recruit as many people as we can and get them to apply. Then, we'll weed people out by looking over their applications. Then, we'll accept who we want and see who actually RPs or not. It is a fact that until a member posts, we can't predict who would or not. We may accept people who we think will RP and suddenly you never hear from them again. So, we need to recruit as much as possible and then do some weeding. I think we can agree on that.

2) Game Characters

There really shouldn't be a disscussion on this. It is Wydda's rule that the characters from the game are not to be played by any person. Instead, every RPer can use the characters as he/she likes. This is an aspect of the guild that makes it unique. Doing so also helps the stress of not being able to control other characters. We're all smart here: we can keep them in character.

3)Current RP

I agree that we should finish out what we started. After all, most of us have been RPing in the thread for a long time.

Obviously, we can't do all the subplots that Souyu brought up (The Jenova cells, Kazuo's backstory, those neo turks, Evil and Evil's relations, gangs, and whatnot...) and honestly, I wouldn't know where to start. Most of these things have been dropped during the RPing a long time ago and no longer relevant. It was something during "Wydda's Reign". Since Wydda isn't with us, as well as the other RPers who came up with these things, we can't do anything with them anyway.

I don't know what the end of the RP will be. I assume it will be after the infiltration is over. Maybe meet up with Rufus after or something. I guess that solely depends on those of us who are still RPing now.

Alright. Unless anybody has any objections, I've got a plan that will take us through the invasion and to the point where Rufus becomes the new president that involves Ehren nearly getting killed.

I'm going to need Turks to "escort" AVALANCHE to the jail cells on floor 68--they're already on Floor 69 right now, as I mentioned a few pages ago in the RP--and then things ought to quiet down--maybe flushing out what remains of the invading force. Ehren can't do it because he's trying to let them up, and Crest shouldn't do it because she's not a Turks.

While the Turks and SOLDIER are busy mopping up the rest of the invasion, Sephiroth is going to destroy the final few levels of the base. I need a little alone time with him for Ehren--one post's worth--and then we can do mostly what we please. The 70th floor should, however, be mostly empty by the time Cloud and the rest get up to it. Ehren will be bleeding quietly in the corner, Palmer will scurry out, and then Cloud will go up to fight Rufus, preferably without much in the way of a setback--that means that we probably shouldn't have Turks who'd want to fight Cloud on the 70th floor at the same time that he's there.

Let's go, Turks.

I'll be posting later tonight.
