Tiny mask that doesn't hide much of my face as to try and "conceal my identity": check
Some sort of "mysterious backstory" to explain why she has a demonic tail usually involving one of her parents to be a lord of all darkness: check

Ok AM, the key to this is blocking off the endocrin ducts in those organs- the acid into your blood one in particular will eat itself away rather quickly without getting that stuff away from itself and the others will likely tear themselves apart to such a degree that they'll necrose and more quickly be absorbed so as to be used to thicken the shell.
The shell can of course be easily remove via conventional surgery. Trust me, I was thinking about becomming a doctor.
