pablo picasso, les domiselles d'avigon, 1907, early cubisim, spanish

picasso breaks down the surfaces of the canvus and the objects into angles and facets. The classical training references; nude figures, still life, venus refences (in poses). Primitisim refences, mask like faces, african maskes, and meditrianian colors

this painting was about the fear of dease, the break down of social order, and it was an important statement, and near and dear to the artists own concerns (the importance amplified by bringing a curtin, baroque for theatrical drama).

franz marc, fate of the animals, 1913, german, the blue rider (cubist)

this image is reminisent of stained class, and shows a very bad outlook for animals, an angsty look. Blue-hope.

made in the years before wwi, franz marc had a very bad outlook towards humans, so he looked to animals, which he thought were pure and beatiful. The blue reprsents spirtiuality, yellow, senstativy, and red, the brutilness. The energy he captured depicts some kind of apoctoliptic event destorying animals.
