"Matt! Do something about these rocks! We're almost there, so we have to push through!"

Kassion kept up his evasion, waiting for Matt to intervene with his Venus abilities. If they could stop those rocks, then they would have a straight shot into the portal. Well, that is if they could get past the figures standing in the way.

Just then, Kinshou had an idea.
"Solana, I'm going to use you as a mind link!"

"Maxwell, do something about this darkness, quickly!"

Kassion leveled out orb for Matt's sake.
"Matt, create a rift in the ground. Throw them into the air!"

He jerked Solana to make sure she was paying attention, "We're only going to have one shot once this darkness goes away and that earthquake is caused. Create a force-burst to shove them out of the way just before we reach the portal."

He said to all three, "We have to work in unison, so do not hesitate when I give the word!"

He controlled the chariot, still being pelted by debris, and willed it forward, blasting through the boulders while taking a greater strain on Solana's and his energy. He waited until they were close enough. He could feel it.
"Maxwell, now!"

Solana put all her remaining energy into working with Kassion. Suddenly there was another force next to her doing the same thing. It was Eira.

"I knew you were good." Solana smiled as she thought to herself for a moment. Then she quickly put all her attention back to the task at hand.

"Three more seconds! Two... One..."

"Right!"
He shouted, and jumped high into the air, taking the demonic ax in his hand and plunged it deep into the body of the demon who was infront of the gate. Pulsing it with energy, he focused and drew his sword, despite the pain that was racking his body and aimed it towards the other figures not far off.
"Pierce the daylight and smite my foes...Demon Beam!"
He shouted and shot out a thin, but deadly, beam of energy, and raked it across the ground in front of them and then up into their ranks.

A brilliant and wonderful light began to fill the orb. Soon there was no orb. Solana thought for a moment and could not tell what she was feeling. A soft rumbling sound reached her ears. She shut her eyes tight against the light and gripped her hands harder.

"What am I holding?"

"Oh yeah! Kassion's ankle... or at least part of his boot..."

The wind became normal again. The air was not as foul. There was ground underneath her.

"What the...?"

"WE'RE ALIVE!" Jin shouted as Solana opened her eyes.

"So we are. How did we get out so cleanly?" Solana looked at Kassion who was battered and bruised. Matt sat on the ground next to her in a similar fashion.

"Believe us now?" Solana asked as she saw the look of shock on his face. He nodded solemnly.

"Eira?" Solana looked around for her apprentice. A Djinn approached her with a little bag tied to it.

"Good. The Star. Where is Eira, Sand?"

Dragon Knight Rhian
"I'm right here, Lady Solana." Eira sat on the ground next to Solana. Jin next to her. She was still holding onto him like she had just drug him through the portal after her.

"I don't think your eyesight is completely back to normal, m'lady." She laughed a little as the stress and adrenaline began to wear off.

"They'll return to normal soon, I hope... if not..."

"Then you will have to practice by teaching me?"

"Yes."

"What?" Kassion looked at the two confusedly.

"Never mind." He shook his head as Solana looked up at him with wrinkled eyebrows.

"What now, Lady Solana?" Eira looked up at her master who was breathing as heavily as she was.

"That is up to the whole of us." Solana turned towards Kassion.

"We need to discuss this with the leaders of all clans. Where is Master Hiro? Where can we discuss this recent turn of events?" Solana looked around again.

"Where is Leer?" She said with a sigh.

"Well, if he is down there, then he will be a good spy for us, considering what he is." Solana looked at Eira. Her newest apprentice nodded and stood up.

"Kassion?"

Silence followed her query. Kassion looked pale to Solana, but it could have been she was still partially blinded.

"We need to get to a place where we can sit and eat something." Solana released Kassion's ankle and clenched and un-clenched her hands.

"Feeling left my hands and I did not notice. I was far more scared than I thought."

Solana looked at Eira. The apprentice was shaking.

"She is worse off than i thought too. Either way, it was a good thing I took her in with me. Good thing for us, and for Jin."

Solana stood from where she had been sitting. She looked up and saw the Elder from the Venus camp. She nodded to him and smiled.

"Kassion? Will you answer me?" Solana punched him and walked towards what she assumed was Matt's tent since it was the central most and the largest of those in the Venus encampment.

Solana spun around and put her hands on her hips as no one around her moved except for Eira who was by her side the momement she stood.

"Move!" A gust of wind picked up all from the ground and dropped them back to earth.

"Did that wake you from your stupor?"

Kassion set a lazy glare on Solana, "Was that necessary?" Though, in truth, it was just what he needed. He was exhausted from their exploits in those hours in that realm, which were only minutes in their realm. He was still digesting the sights that he saw and still dazed by the abrupt result of it all.

He looked over to Solana and then settled a short gaze upon all in attendance one by one until he settled on Matt.

He nodded to himself when he noticed that Matt seemed equally as perturbed as himself. They had all witnessed more than any had expected, save for Maxwell and Leer.

Kassion blanched when he thought of where they all were and that they were missing two from their group.

"How did this happen? Where's the others? What the hell happened in there?!"
Kassion, not normally shaken by loss, was truly bothered from the confusion and unresolved outcome of the whole ordeal.

"Solana, call Eclipse. We must get back to Prox and set up a link to Master Hiro."
He then looked to Matt and the elder, "We have much to discuss. Set up a link to the Mars Lighthouse as soon as possible. I will be recalling my armies back to Prox and I request for you to do the same. You will have your land back. We can ill afford differences and petty grudges now."

Kassion closed his eyes and summoned some of the little psyenergy that he had remaining to set up a link to his only remaining apprentice, though it was a one-way message, "Trinity, rally all companies and troops back to Prox. Venus is also recalling-" He shot a threatening glare towards the elder of Venus to stem any forth-coming rebuttle, "-we're abandoning this war. There are larger things afoot."

Eclipse came down in a rush of scales and wind, blasting dust and shaking the earth as he beat his wings to slow and hit the ground in a skidding stop.
Kassion mounted the back of the dragon, inviting any who would need to be transported back with him, including Eira and Solana, even if they could teleport. "We must hurry and find out what happened in there and what happened to our shadow-wielding fellows."

Solana mounted Eclipse with Eira and Kassion. She sat with her back to Kassion's and rested. She decided to use the remains of her Psynergy to heal those near her, she still had a few Psynergy stars left and a few potions. Besides, she hated the heights that Kassion and Eclipse both prefered to fly at. A few hundred feet about the ground was enough for her, thank you very much, but the few miles above the ground Eclipse flew at twisted her stomach. the faster she exhausted herself, the better. Luckily Eira was there, standing at Solana's knees, enjoying every minute of the flight.

"She'll be strong enough once we... She can lead them right." Solana nodded to Star as he came up from the folds of Solana's cape.

Yes, Lady Solana.

"Leer, you better keep Maxwell alive or Kassion'll have my hide!"

Soon Solana slept.

Solana started suddenly.

"We're descending."

"Yes, Lady Solana."

"Are we there already?"

Eira looked out over Kassion's shoulder.

"Prox is covered in so much snow!"

"You knew that, Eira."

"I did. I just did not realize how much snow. Will you be cold, Lady Solana?"

"No. But you might be."

"Kassion, new clothes might be in order if we are to have an extended stay here. at least for Eira. I love the cold... hence why my home was in the highest part of the Jupiter Lighthouse."

Solana passed Eira her cloak and leaned backwards against Kassion's back and waited for Eclipse to land.

"I need to get you your own dragon friend, Kassion. How about Tiamat? She's nice. Well... as far as Fire Dragon's go."

She nudged his back and waited for a response.
PostPosted: Wed Jul 29, 2009 8:11 pm

Kassion listened very well to what Solana said.
Another dragon? He had heard about it, but did not know how to go about obtaining such a beast as a pet or as a comrade. Though being a master of fire, Tiamat was an intriguing choice for a traveling and battling companion.
"You'll have to explain to me how to find Tiamat. I've never had the opportunity to explore such things. Come to think of it, how did you come upon Eclipse?"

They were now flying over the chilled mountains, looking down at his beloved Prox.
It was white.
"Solana, something isn't right!" He shouted of the constant howl of the wind rushing past them, forgetting that he could simply think what he spoke aloud out of shock upon looking down on his home.

Eclipse padded down in the center of Prox, a display for all the city - those not in their homes, rather - to see.
Kassion hopped off of the enormous creature and quickly trotted away, leaving Solana and Eira to do as they pleased and to find him later.

He went straight for the Town Hall.

The elders were inside, discussing the weather and why it was the way it was.
Kassion, beaten, dirty, bloody, and exhausted, walked to his seat in the center of the gathering and stayed standing, demanding the an audience.
Once the room quieted, Kassion eyed them all and waited for their thoughts one-by-one.

No one spoke for none had any ideas for the strange happenings.

Kassion then produced a red sphere from his pouch. The Mars star.
"These stars, the source of power for each clan," he began, "have been destroyed, one by one. They retain what energy is left in these tiny spheres. These are the elements of Alchemy. We all know of them and we all know how to manipulate them to some extent."
The hall was silent and waiting for his reasoning.
"The darkness that falls over all of Weyard is the source of the sealing of Alchemy. Without Alchemy, our land is changing. These events are all tied together and I refuse to sit in denial about them any longer than I already have."
He unsheathed all of his weapons and laid them down on the ground, showing their scorch marks, chips, scratches, and dents. None seriously damaged, though all in need of minor repair.
"I have returned from battle; a battle that cannot be won in this land. We are now at war with another being altogether. We are at war with monsters, as you all know. These monsters reside in another dimension that few can manipulate." He had been stalking around the room, passing and looking each man seated in the council in the eye as he spoke, emphasizing his point further by acknowledging each man one at a time.
"These few that can manipulate this form of 'dark' Alchemy can do so, I'm assuming, because they came into contact with this dark foe before their powers were fully developed. We know of them, but not of their whereabouts at the moment. We must find them and bring them together so that we may combine our abilities, our knowledge, and our power to unveil the very truth of our foe."

Now feeling the bite of the winter cold, he shivered and warmed himself and those around him with a simple thought, setting himself aglow in the process. It was really an interesting sight to see.
No one had any real argument since no one had any better ideas, though many were skeptical of these "dark" alchemical users, which was obvious by their expressions that they now wore.
Kassion knew they wouldn't question him. He was right many times before and had saved them countless more times. They knew they couldn't question him, simply because they knew that they'd be wrong or they'd be cast from the council for refusing to cooperate.
Prox was a very rational place. Diplomacy wasn't really their specialty.

Kassion collected his gear and replaced the star in his pouch. "I request that all of the best diviners be assembled to search for these 'dark' adepts. One goes by the name of Maxwell. Many of you know him already." With the admittance of Maxwell as an unknown element adept, many gasps were heard and a few scoffs were also evident.
"Another is less familiar to me, but I shall know his name by the marrow. We must act quickly, for the fate of our homeland now rests on each of our shoulders. Each of the men and women of Weyard are equally responsible for aiding in our newly acquired quest. Let us hope that these adepts can be found, for I fear we will not survive another year without their aid."

With that, Kassion graceful for his size, quietly left the Town Hall, which was now in an uproar of motion and shouting as the elders feverishly began their planning.
He moved into the snow, or what would have been snow, for it melted before he ever stepped upon it and it froze as he moved further away. He was moving towards the lighthouse for more answers.
Children took their cue and used their new ice hill for their own amusement.

"Solana, you know where I am at. I am dying for a night in the hot baths. Care to join me? The others may attend if they so choose, as well. I'm needing a night of relaxation and I would enjoy doing so with familiar faces."

He focused the thought on Solana for the first part, but extended his thoughts to Trinity, Eira, and Solana. He would have invited the males of their entourage, but they were the very ones they now sought to find.

Kassion wasn't complaining.

Solana had seen Kassion basically sprint to the town hall. she knew what he was concerned about. As she watched the people of Prox were exploring their newly snow covered city. A small group of children were circling Eclipse. Solana nodded to Eira and the young Jupiter Adept began talking with the children and teaching them a little about Eclipse.

"Star?" Solana looked towards the direction of the Lighthouse. She walked towards it and the library within.

"Yes, Lady Solana."

"Jupiter?"

"Contigo is now a desert... no longer the lush land it was. The people around it are scattering."

"Imil?"

"Still frozen as before."

"Venus?"

"The Lighthouse is also gaining desert near it. Vale is still mountainous."

"So a little has changed for all, but not too much. Still better than I had hoped."

"As the darkness grows, so do the changes in the land of Weyard."

Solana reached the Lighthouse and the guard recognized her.

"Lady Solana! Welcome back."

"Thank you. Library still intact, I suppose?" The guard nodded and let Solana pass. She made her way up stairs and to the right to find the library as she had left it. She summoned some wind and pull a few books off the shelves.

"Good reading?"

"Well, Star, they deal with past attempts to sealing alchemy. There seems to be something missing."

"Yes... well... It could all be VERY dangerous."

"And could even cost us our lives. I know. What about Alchemy isn't dangerous at the risk of our lives?"

"True."

Solana sat down in what had become her favorite reading cushion and opened up a book. Suddenly Kassion's voice popped into her head.

"Solana, you know where I am at. I am dying for a night in the hot baths. Care to join me? The others may attend if they so choose, as well. I'm needing a night of relaxation and I would enjoy doing so with familiar faces."

"Sounds fun. Star said."

"It will be nice to soak and relax a little. Eira will also be joining us then? Yes."

"Eira, please meet at the base of the Lighthouse. Let Eclipse know he is free and if he wouldn't mind, Kassion would like to meet Tiamat, so maybe be little nicer than when they last met and convince her to join us in Prox soon." Solana got up out of her cushion and carried a few books with her.

"Getting chilly, eh?" Solana shivered as her own wind picked up some snow leaking through the window and flung it on her.

"Yes it is. Most concerning."

"True. Well... that is what we have come to fix, yes? Yes. Let us go join Kassion and Trinity and Eira."

Solana walked out of the library and headed towards the base of the Lighthouse where she would meet Kassion and Eira arriving at the same time.
