Rivven fell straight over onto his back and into the water when the gun was lifted, sliding around beneath like a belly up fish, rather odd looking, and letting the water provide a little cushion to make his speed enough, sliding wildly whenever the aim seemed to turn his way, until his opponent slid out of the wall of water. He stood and considered what had happened for a moment, ignoring the few tiny scrapes bullets grazing his skin had done before he was fully mobile. With a sigh, Rivven drew himself forward by the water beneath his feet, bringing extra along to swirl around him in forceful turrents and whip like wires, a practical small hurricane around his feet. The rest he'd let sit for a while, the time for brute force was long past, and this should be all he needed for defense, as his opponent had anticipated his offense. On a quick whim, he stopped inside the wall, just beyond where his opponents shadow on the other side was visible from. At this range we're both hidden, so... He backed up further, making a single water doppelganger and sending it forward and out as he had been intending to go himself, it's hands fixed to finish the last sign for the Salamander's Breath. He usually used his own style of ninjutsu instead of existing techniques another chakra user might recognize, but he didn't particularly like playing around with fire, so he stuck with what was practical. The doppelganger should be alright as long it is within the ring, even if I can't see it I can contol it from this range, and it'll cost me a bit extra but I should be able to channel my jutsus into and out of it... I could always flood the entire ring and use electricity again, he didn't seem to notice before. So there's doppelganger... I'll want to ready direct counter for his scythe, and then prepare an immediate offense after the doppelganger's finished up, followed by a secondary and a balance on call for his first real offensive or defensive measure... I'll start with the primary... he left a lot of bullets and their shells inside the water and ground beneath it due to his rapidity of fire, so I'll scoop all of those out... then I'll give a quick touch to my towers and increase the current a tad, he shouldn't notice unless he's right next to one of the other three, the scythes balance I can attend to in here, and as far as the balance, I can move the flood to the rest of the arena and set up a mirror doppelganger... and I can set up the full formation for those walls as soon as I get that done... and with that much cover... well, I can figure that all out once I finish here. Simple plans are more reliable.

The doppelganger would approach his opponent with quick sliding motions as soon as there was anything to dodge, followed by kicking if it started close combat, and if Charles came within several meters of it himself it was set to spew a jet of flame from it's mouth as soon as he did, mimicking the motions of casting as well as dodging whatever he did so it would appear to be the real thing of course, and that was about it for there. Between the walls, he sent his increased current to the unused towers, pulling the bullets and discarded shells from the ground beneath him and putting them within the wall facing Chauffeur as well as a few in the other two, and getting ready to set his towers into motion a second before he used those; a symultanious attack seemed better on second thought. Water from the ground formed around his arms, covering in a thin layer from his shoulder to fingertip, as well as a patch of it over the stomach to stop whatever bleeding that wound was still doing; being underwater had nearly closed both, once they had a little time. The water around his arms twisted and built, until he had a long, single edged sword made of water over each wrist, long as his hieght, but not terribly thick. Not that it would matter, he could move the large weapons as agily as his arms alone, or nearly so, as they were made of water. And since what surrounded his wrists was malleable, he could still weave the signs for his jutsus. Leaving the water doppelganger to begin the new part of the battle going on, he sat in wait, letting a mist fill the air of the entire arena, through which he could feel his opponents position even when sight of it was blurry through the doppelganger, not to mention he'd have his position if the copy was destoyed. This new addition sparked more ideas in his mind, but he left them for a few seconds until their use was possible. I've only got a few big flashy moves left in me, which is just as well since most don't do so well. It's just about how tangled a web I can weave with my basics, and to see if he walks into any of them now. I should be able to win... but this has become a waiting game. It's his turn to be the offensive one, and mine to take up the countering. Just how it should be, and normally would have been.

((I know that's a lot again, but this time all he's actually done was a few minor adjustments for later moves, and set the doppelganger forward to bring the fight slowly to him if he doesn't come after it first. I hope this is alright. And since he had seen the doppelgangers made last time it was assumed they wouldn't trick Charles but if he knows this one is fake, I want a full explenation of why, not just that he does. That's all I have to say OOC, I hope no one is bothered by this little disclaimer at the bottom of my post. Oops, oh yes, and I'm not sure exactly how I put it, but the wall is one between each of the three active towers, making a triangular space within, not a single wall. That's what I meant, anyway, and they're purely water, not ice.))

Charles had grown tired of this match, but respected the persistant nature of his opponent. Also, his opponent had made a mistake: he had become too predictable. Granted, perhaps he was, as well, but he didn't care. This had become of match of who could outlast who, and, since he couldn't force his opponent to drown, very much unlike Rivven, he stood on the short end of the stick.

He would have to stick to surprising bursts of energy.

He reholstered his Glock and ZMG, took his scythe and hurled it at the water wall. He knew that wouldn't be Rivven within the wall; the guy wasn't stupid enough to do that. The rate and speed at which the scythe spinned couldn't be stopped- it ripped right through the water wall in a split second. In that moment he saw his opponent on the other side, the scythe heading right for him. The weapon spun far too fast for any chance of Rivven stopping it with ice; way too hot. Your move Waterboy.

Scythe Techniques
Wrap Around: Scythe is spun just so, causing the weapon to return to the owner like a boomerang.

The doppelganger barely had anytime after coming through the wall before the scythe flew toward it, and despite its attempt to evade, the heated blade cut through most of its torso, and the thing collapsed to add to the growing mist, but it had seen the blade before caught by it, and that bought Rivven yet another part of a second to act. He slid rapidly straight backward, knowing he couldn't sidestep with its speed, so he headed backward, gradually pulling down into a kneeling postion and to the right as he did, lifting his arms against the blade catching up with him. It made a lot of steam coming through the wall, so it's gotta be heated again. I wish I knew how he did that... but this is one thing I have to just watch out for, there's not a lot I can do... Lifting his arms up, he froze the blades over his hands to buy them an extra second of holding up against the heat, and rather than trying to stop it, he continued to move the the side and backward, ducking low as he struck the blade's handle, the ice melting and turning to steam as he did so, just long enough to redirect it's course off to his left, and let it keep going. Shooting to his feet as it passed, he let out a tense breath and stood, turning to watch it and ready himself to deal with the thing when it came back; it seemed to have a habit of doing that. It nearly clipped me this time! I must be slowing down a bit. I guess my chakra isn't the only thing wearing away with time. I'm to tense. Relax the body, move around, not against. Bend or break, the former has less reprecussions...

The mist was starting to grow thick enough to obscure veiw, but this meant he could feel the human shape within it, and that was enough. The mist let him feel the steaming blade quite clearly as well, so he didn't have to worry about the sight impediment. Just keep an some mind on it's position and direction, as well as his opponents place, and make sure the man didn't pull a gun without his notice, so he'd have to get cautious whenever he pulled toward an aiming position.

Rivven shot the water from his towers upward, bursting a portion of their mass skyward to spout bits of water in small strips above the arena, he froze them into ice and icicles as they fell, pulling up water from his feet to fix the liquid blades as well as to sheild him from his ice, he acted in one more way before they came so low as that. Snatching at the water around the front of his enclosure, he felt theused bullets and shells remaining inside it, nearly all, and snapped the water about and forward, like a powerful sling, and shot the bullets outward, not directly at Chauffeur, but into the entirity of the area all at once to fill it almost like a shot gun fired into a paper bag (Horrible comparison, I know, bear with me.). And of course, even if Chauffeur came out of that completely uninjured, he'd have about a half a second until the ice came down on him. Rivven turned his attention to caution of the scythe and guns again, grabbing at the walls again as well as the water which had seeped only a little distance below the ground, not to use them yet, but to be ready to instantly when time was right. Alright Mr. Chauffeur... this is going to hurt, though by now I can't doubt you'll manage to survive. Let's keep keeping this thing interesting why don't we?

As Charles had thrown his scythe, he knew how busy Rivven would be with attempting to avoid. At this point he wasn't worried whether or not it would strike his opponent. No, instead he had begun moving.

He was out of the walls of water and ice, guns at the ready, in the few seconds it took for Rivven to deflect and rise to his feet, the mist pouring upon them. "Pay attention, you're not done yet!!" he yelled, firing away at the blurred form of Rivven, all the meanwhile his scythe coming back on its new path.

Of course, there was the problems of the falling shells, but the Chauffeur wasn't worried about them one bit. As they fell, any bullets within his person suddenly veered off course. As for the ice, the Chauffeur raised his left arm, the limb not holding the Glock, and shielded his head. As the ice came closer to Charles, it began to melt at a hastened rate. They were still hard pieces of ice, but now blunted instead of sharp. The ice still hurt when it hit him, but that was why he was protecting his head. He was done playing around now.

Already? I guess he's finally taking the match serously. Hope he can still have some fun that way, I know I have been. Rivven dived to the right, the left would have put him nearer the scythes return course, and turned his sheild of water toward the man firing, as he curled up as if to roll and slid across the water to reduce the target area while he attempted to dodge, with the bullets cutting in close behind as they always did. As he did, he spared a bt of his mind to flick his hands amid his rolling form into the signs, until the electrical charge pulsed through his arm again. He's just rushed back through the wall after me and into the water agian, so he's open for this... At he unrolled himself quickly to kneel atop the water in a tight form as it carried him from the course of the bullets still, pressing his fingers against the water behind himself and letting the charge run into the water again, while he lifted the other arm, still covered in it's watery blade, to cover his face until he had an offensive use ready for it. Even though he hadn't seen the electricities affect yet, he didn't pause in the next preperation, drawing water in, though not rushed, to fill the rest of the arena, and kept his little sheild to slow the bullets around himself, already considering what he could do most easily with that. And don't forget the scythe... you should be out of it's course, but no taking stupid chances...

The mist had cleared as Rivven's electrical energy surged through the water. It made the water come to life with bright color, and would be considered very deadly. Charles hadn't hesitated as he charged his opponent, but he had stopped firing his guns, reholstering them. The echo of their shots still rang throughout the stadium, hiding small noises such as the light, running feet over shallow water. If the gun shots's echoes weren't enough to hide the sound, the cacophany of his spinning scythe would certainly do the job.

Rivven had shielded himself from the shock, which Charles found to be fascinating. Although he's in the water, surrounded by water, he can't be shocked. Meh, probably something simple, such as my rubber-soled shoes insulating me.

The Chauffeur's scythe roared over Rivven's head, where Charles intercepted it, grabbing the weapon's handle, landing next to Rivven, and thrusting the blade through his opponent's shield, tearing it open, stopping mere microns away from his neck. "End this now, or your next move will be the last one you ever make."

((That's an interesting fact I learned at school a while ago; water free of the tiny dirt molecules and other things that float around in it, pure H2O, doesn't conduct even the least bit of elecricity.))

Rivven stood very still, examining his opponent, and running his eyes down the scythe from its tip to its butt, and then looking over Chauffeur's stance, and looking in the man's eyes. Not bad on the carry out, but I think you've made one of your first rather careless moves. I doubt either of us will have a chance to make many more though. I think you forgot to think it through all the way, so I'll just correct on your error...

Without warning, even so much as moving his eyes away from his opponent's again, or letting his muscles tightening before the second of motion, he shot a hand out to grab the scythe near the base of the blade, near the end of the handle, and slid his hand down over next to Charles' as he locked his elbow to hold it at distance and flicked a hand down to his belt as he leaned way in to lunge up next to his opponent, moving away from the blade and forward as he grabbed it. Sliding close to Charles, to the point where the men's torso's touched slightly, a range definately unsafe to use such a large weapon at should he free it, he brought his elbow around the man's head and under his chin in a tight grip, his middle and pinter finger extended at the arm's end, pointed straight upward. The pushed just hard enough not to injure against the bottom of his jaw, the fleshy center of it, and behind them, held in place by the thumb and other two fingers, the pinprick on his skin of the tip of his own throwing knife, the one Rivven had cought at the begginning. The water around his arms took off on contact, one wrapping the other's scythe and the limbs touching in place, and holding onto them firmly, the other arm's water sword twisting around Charles' head and neck, covering his nose and mouth to block air out. Rivven spared only a moment to distance himself where he might be vulnerable, kneeing the man hard in the stomach to drive the air out, likely before he had a full grasp of what was going on, and pressed himself against Chauffeur again. "Now what? If you wish to give up, nod slightly, upward first, then down to where it is now. I'll keep the knife agianst it incase you try anything funny though, just a warning." He said, pronounciating loudly so that the other man could make his words out through the watery bowl. Just in case he tried to flip them over; he had been doing odd jumps and such quite a bit; though it probably wouldn't be affective with both his hands clasped and held by water to the scythe, which Rivven's hand nearest the top would have more control over direction of than either of the other two, he wrapped water about both their feet and ankles to hold them in place.

((So let's assume you did stand up, I'll give you that one. But you made far too many moves without considering your opponent's own moves. Thus, certain moves, though cool, now become moot.))

At the moment Charles saw Rivven's hand go for his scythe he let go of his blade instinctively, unholstering his Glock and firing right into Rivven's side. He didn't want to consider what the point blank shot was going to do to the guy, but he watched as his opponent's arms started what their master had begun. The Chauffeur stepped back from his opponent, well out of reach, his gun still aimed on the body. But he knew better; his Glock was now out of ammo.

((He hadn't stood yet? Well, my mistake. I didn't think grabbing your scythe and your neck would be too much, though I'll admit the kick was probably pushing it, but apparently I have to say simple things very lacking in detail or else they'll be accused of being long and disregarded by our great rp-ing judge master here. No disrespect meant, but yes there's a helluva lot of sercasm. I really don't mean to say that you're being unfair here, it may be myself who is, but shouldn't you have been letting a judge decide when I did too much rather than taking it upon yourself since the begginning? Well, I'll just assume no one cares and would take your side because you've been here longer, so I'll just post where you left it.))

Rivven shook as the bullet caught him in the side, very nearly falling over, as he caught himself with hands on knees and caoughed hard. Straightening slowly, he put an arm up to his mouth to wipe away a trickle of blood leaking from his mouth. He stood straight slowly, as the water sealing his other wounds pulled down over the new one as well, looking at his opponent, still with the gun in hand. He didn't move. For the first time, his mind was starting to feel foggy, and everything seemed to go slowly. Distantly, he told himself he had to make a move and keep going after, or else it might all stop here. Taking a step backward, he put the scythe's handle over one shoulder, imitating the way his opponent had thrown it, and broke off into coughs. Water stirred ever so gently around them, and a few things were underfoot already, probably Rivven's last chance. Point black behind Charles, a doppelganger of Rivven, complete with the scythe he now held, rose, as many more did, even more distant from Charles, surrounding him in a circle, though they lacked the scythes. Rivven slide himself back among them, and put his hands together to start on the next signs, picking up speed as he went, trying to gather a sheild around himself and the doppelgangers before the next shot came at any but the one behind him, who was spinning the scythe as quietly and quckly as it could right now, readying to strike the man.

((There. Nothing has happened save for me making doppelgangers. I don't see how you can disregard my actions in this one.))
PostPosted: Thu May 26, 2005 3:51 pm

Charles put his Glock away, instinctively reloading it as he went. "Dumbass!" he yelled in frustration, his voice echoing off the arena's walls. "If you keep on like this, there's no way you're going to survive! I just shot you through several vital organs! Give up!"

Moron. He's wasting his energy on assembling all these stupid water clones. On top of it all, he's holding my scythe, which is far beyond taboo in my book. I have to put him out for good... how in the hell is he surviving a point blank shot to the side?

Though the Chauffeur was pissed, he wasn't letting up his guard. He could hear the clone behind him, and he could figure out just why his opponent was still holding onto his scythe. Pissed, but not stupid.

Rivven slammed his free hand through the signs, taking longer than the doppelgangers had because he'd only one free hand, and stopped on the final one. The sign of the dragon. Lifted the scythe up single handedly, he ignored the pain that shot through his stomach as he stretched his torso to lift it over his shoulder and spun it around the hand to pick up momentum. As he prepared for his last onslaught, the doppelganger swung it's blade at Charles, coming point first at his stomach, spinning around with a foot hovering over the ground as it spun, to kick for the man's head if he was still there when the scythe had passed by.

Rivven was scarcely a moment behind, following up on his chance, at the distance he'd need to act just a bit early to land anything when he wanted it too. Water spun wildly behind himself and the doppelgangers, that which had covered the ground lightly collecting into a solid stream roaring at chest level toward the back of each of the nine acompanying Rivven in the assault. In time that it should strike just as the doppel-scythe passed 180 beyond it's target, he flung the threw the real thing, spinning it horizontal to the ground and only about a foot above, the water colliding with his back and bursting up and over his shoulders just as it left his hand. Putting every ounce of mental fortitude he had left into working himself and the doppelgangers through the technique, he sent off his last strike, hoping to catch his opponent immobolized in the middle of jumping above the spinning blade at shin level. Art of the Seven Headed Water Dragon!

It was a technique which he usually reserved for crowds, so he could take down several of the most dangerous enemies in a battle down at once, an attack draining because it held both accuracy and power. Off the shoulders of himself and each doppelganger would shoot water, forming into the shape of seven draconic heads and necks for each of them using it. A total of seventy projectiles unless his opponent had destroyed one or two during his last second of preperation. Each head would follow the target chosen for it, in this case every one was after Charles. Four would shoot nearly straight into the air and turn downward to descend upon the target, it was an attack of homing projectiles by nature, while the other three would come one from each side and the last from between his legs, the water bursting over each part of his back taking on a slightly different angle of attack. The dangerous part was, besides the fact that he'd seen armored men crushed by their cover as a dragon slammed it into them, that they could attack many at once, but not usually all at once, some coming in immediatly after the initail barrage ended, and occasionally one that missed managed to arc away from hitting something else and turn on it's target again. This is the last chance for sure. I've nothing that'll be enough to end it if he comes out of this in decent enough condition to keep up the match. Only the doppelgangers... I've worn myself out between the injuries and constant chakra use. So Mr. Chauffeur, let's see what we're capable of. May the better man win...
PostPosted: Fri May 27, 2005 2:58 pm

Charles dropped to the ground in a sweeping kick as he saw Rivven react with his scythe. He connected with the water clones leg, slicing right on through the liquid and knocking it off balance.

Next came his scythe, which was no problem for Charles. After all, it took years and years of proper training to be capable of throwing a scythe as well as the Chauffeur threw his. Rivven's throw took it on a mismesh journey, falling about halfway between himself and the Chauffeur.

Reacting quickly, Charles ran for his scythe. He picked it up, never hesitating in his sprint towards Rivven. However, Rivven's cry, which to Charles sounded an awful like a dangerous move, made him turn back around and run as fast as he could, never looking back.

Ok, time to do what you do best: Act without thinking!

Mid-sprint the Chauffeur slammed his scythe in the soft, water-soaked earth, the ground bursting open beneath his feet. It was a hole that he quickly slid backwards into, facing in an oblique to the ground ((that's diagonal)). He spun his scythe as quickly as he could, forming the shield like he had earlier in the match. He combined this with his Resonance ability, the blade glowing brightly.

That was when the dragons began to attack. However, the now-narrowed target space caused many of the water dragons to collide as they went on their one track way. It may have limited the number of dragons, but they were now bigger, thanks to the extra water mass. They relentless and brutal shots of water collided with Charles's scythe, pushing him further and further back. The muddy earth, however, acted more as a cushion, but still hurt nonetheless. As the penultimate water dragon smacked his scythe, a shot of pain seered through his left arm; this was probably a bad thing.

Immeadiate evidence was that the Chauffeur's scythe began to slow in spin, the last water dragon entering the now quite deep mudhole without much resistance. And it was a big one, heading on a direct collision course with its target. Charles's mind was drawing a blank on what he should do next when the ground beneath him suddenly gave way. He now found himself in one of the tunnels his scythe had originally created to drain away Rivven's original supply of water.

Taking little time to think the Chauffeur dove to one side, increasing his magnetic barrier- the mechanism he used to help control his scythe and to deflect the rain of bullets and ice. It was enough; the dragon shot on through the ground, becoming just that, a crapload of water in the ground.

Charles took no hesitation, removing his belt and attatching his scythe to his left arm. Painful as it was, he began his ascent to the surface. "It's over, Rivven," he said to no one. "I'm sick of your water games, and I'm sick of this match. Heh, I bet you think I'm dead now. Fat. Chance."

((Rivven didn't say a thing. It was in italics. It was a thought.))

Rivven watched the water dragons fall on Chauffeur in his little hiding spot, driving him into the ground. Suddenly, the man fell under, dissappearing completely, as a dragon dove down after. It took Rivven about two or three seconds to realize what had happened, and he rushed to the edge of the crevice, ignoring the pain so as not to limp, running straight over to it. Stopping by the crevice, he bent down to look in for the man. He'd seen the man live through a lot. There was quite a possibility he was alright down there, but also that he was hurt. That wouldn't have mattered, but that if the man had been injured any, he was probably stuck underground. "Mr. Charles! Mr.Charles, are you alright down there?" He yelled down into it, bringing a doppelganger over next to him. He would have a heck of a lot of trouble getting Charles out, but the doppelganger out to be fine giving him a lift up if he was injured. And if there was no reply... he would have to go in after him. "Mr. Charles!"
PostPosted: Fri May 27, 2005 6:58 pm

The Chauffeur heard Rivven call out to him. Stay on your toes, he thought to himself, going over his remaining inventory in his head. I don't want to be on the wrong end, again. Fooled me one too many times already...

Right hand, scythe. Right hand, scythe. Once it became more like a tunnel, Charles stood up, walking without any problem, save for the pain that was going through his left arm. Nothing a night of heavy drinking couldn't fix, he thought with a smirk. Too bad it wouldn't work on me anyway.

Finally the Chauffeur returned to the surface. "I'm fine," he said, unstrapping his scythe from his left hand and returning it to his right. "Your grandiose water works failed, I'm afraid."

He took a step back, raising his scythe to Rivven's neck, his hold as steady as a rock, his eyes fearful and piercing. "You've pulled out all the stops, Rivven, used every trick you had to try to beat me, whether hand-to-hand or elemental, and you still had a trump card or three up your sleeve. You've taken a bullet in your shoulder, a kick to the groin, and a point blank shot to your side, yet you still stand to face me. However, for every amazing feat you've shown today, I have bested. Every display of intellgence or wit, outsmarted. I'm not about to fall, as you can see after what just happened.

"This is why I warn you now: Concede. If not, I garauntee you won't leave this arena alive. Think carefully before you decide which is more worthwhile to you."

"Well," Rivven smiled holding a hand out to the man, "I've over exteneded myself, I'm out of chakra, and to beat up to go hand-to-hand. All I've got left is the doppelgangers still standing about, and those could probably take you for another little trip or two, but you seem shamefully unhappy with out match, and they really don't have a chance, so I'll end it; I, Rivven Dilys concede. Mr. Chauffeur wins this match on default." He announced. "This has been a great match. I've enjoyed it." He said, licking at the trickle of blood running from his mouth, and smiling brightly. It was over now so he let the doppelgangers, and the remainers of those final towers dissapate. He also let himself lean and support himself on one knee with his other hand. "Of course, after this I would have loved to see what the other people here can do, but I guess that's your right now not mine. Hope you enjoy your other fights. Maybe, after this whole things over, we should spar sometime. Until then... I think I need to attend to my injuries, and get some more important things of mine taken care of. Then I'm going to have a bit to drink. Interested? I'll buy, but only one, I'm low on money. Oh yes, and..." He said, taking the hand from his knee, forcing himself to stand straight and putting it to his belt, flipping an upsticking handle about and holding it out. "Here's your knife. I need to get the other ones you stuck in my chains out to, and then get it fixed. I'm a bit upset about that, but I certainly don't hold it against you."
