Flame Maniac eek Seriously? Wow... But you have to do it to become an official Monster Slayer right? Define "official." Technically, if you kill a monster, you're a monster slayer. The Monster Elimination Brigades and other Shadow Government organizations induct "enlisted" individuals at a prodigous rate, to counter their poor training and incredible casualty rates. The only requirement to serve in most Shadow Government Anti-Monster activities is an awareness that there are, in fact, monsters.

I was talking about being able to go on missions and stuff with the MSU. Or do you just have to be a part of the fighting proper for that?

Any actual slaying of Monsters is generally handled by the Combat Proper, unless the situation becomes extremely unstable. Each member of the Combat Proper is capable of operating independently for an extended period of time, as well as tracking/engaging multiple targets simultaneously. Any mission assigned to a member of the Combat Proper is the kind-of dangerous that you normally associate with say... a pit of vipers. Support Crew missions are very different, and include everything from handling Logistics, to Supply pick-ups, Research and Development, or on very rare occassions, observation of suspected enemy positions. Do you have an official Support Crew duty station?

AstralSamurai The Monster Elimination Brigades suffer a 70% average casualty rate per encounter. Practical experience under the guide and tutelege of a veteran Monster Slayer is worth two or three decades of book learning - any day. You should see the mortality rate on the classes I taught. ... They never invited me back. I just kept showing up. ninja

Saradiel How would we go about obtaining an official Support Crew duty station, Commander? Build your resume and submit an application to my assistant, Eriandi. As the unofficial head of the MSU Support Crew, I leave all applications in her very capable hands. If the position is not currently filled, I'm sure something could be worked out. That includes positions which don't exist yet, incidentally.
