BTW everyone if you guys want a copy of the rule book for AMTGARD go to the site (www.qtneb.org) go to documents and download the rule book from there it has lots of pointers and tutorials on how to make swords, shields, and even armor!
And if anyone want's to you can join there message forum. Should be a link at the site.

Well, I used to do SCA a while back, but I didn't like the way the system/structure was going. I've done quite a bit of boffer, albeit while drunk, in a friend's backyard. His brother had a ton of weapons made...actually, I think to Amtgard's rules, can't remember.

I'm not sure what SCA is but I know one group you want to watch out for and that is DNS (Dark Knight Society) they pride themselves on how much they can hurt each other...

Society for Creative Anachronism. Pretty much like boffer fighting, but you actually get full chain mail/plate suits to wear, and beat the hell out of each other with actual, dulled weapons. Dull or not...a 2 handed axe to your side will still break bones. *rubs ribs*

That must have been DNS.....Qeurna Tema is nothing like that they want everything to be a safe as possible for everyone.

Well, I should've clarified that a bit more. I don't know how battles happen at actual boffers, but the fights for SCA were generally 1v1. You'd fight at events to earn a higher rank in the kingdom you represented. But yeah, still not the safest thing to do.
Actually...I don't think DNS is part of the SCA. I used to be with Calontir, and at the time another group had started picking people up from Nebraska, but they were called Knights of the Outlands...I think. Been a while. sweatdrop

Hmmmmmmmm interesting...well I can say for sure that Querna Tema is safe that is no live steel combat so you won't have to worry about that.
