Niel made his way through the forest but he didn't seem to be gaining on the Urgals Trail. He was exhausted but he knew he could still make one or two more gateways. He estimated that the Urgal's were only a couple miles ahead so he opened a gateway and made a blind jump through the hole in the air. On the other side of the gateway it was pitch black. He must of opened the gateway inside of a cave. He let the gateway go and he was plundged into darkness. He made a very small flame in the palm of his hand and held it there so he could look around for a second. He could feel air coming from the far end of the cave.
He began walking towards it but suddenly hit something that felt like a wall. He held the little flame up to it but there was nothing there. He tried to walk forward again and nothing stopped him but when he passed where the wall seemed to have been it felt like being splashed with ice water. He saw something something out of the corner of his eye. It was a flash of white and then it was gone. He walked over to where he had seen it and he found what appeared to be a bright white stone with veins of gold. He picked up the stone and quickly put it in his pack. He thought he knew what it was but he wasn't sure. He continued through the cave for a long distance before coming to the mouth of the cave.
He heard some rustling outside of the cave so he quickly put out his light cautiously looked out through the mouth of the cave. There was what was left of the party of Urgal's that had attacked them and... The thing that had tried to probe his mind. Niel took a step forward to get a closer look when he felt the slightest probe at his mind that was quickly gone. He then saw the man stand and look right at where he was hiding in the cave. Niel quickly made the gateway to somewhere in ellesmeria he didn't care where. He jumped though just as a fireball exploded where he had stood and another flew through the gateway just barely missing his head. He closed the gateway and looked around exhausted. He was in the queens throne room and she was looking right down at him.

Talina looked at Crystalyn and melena " let's head back" she said she stiffened feeling an eerie feeling she looked at them and nodded seeing the last survivor gone the others were picking up Urgals almost finished throwing them into a pile far away to burn them. She walked towards Ellesmera to go into the town and to the queen " you must tell the queen exactly what happened when the shade entered your mind what he saw and everything.

Melena nodded and followed Talina. herlids felt heavy and all she could think of as her feet machanically brought her to the throne was the throbing in her head and the ach in her arm. when Melena looked at her arm she was supprised to see that it had opened and was bleeding again. she knew she didnt have enough strength to heal it with magic so she slowed down a bit and tore a strip of cloth from her shirt and tied it firmly on her cut.

Niel quickly apologized for appearing so suddenly and said it was a mistake and he would be going now. He quickly turned his back not giving the queen a chance to say anything. He walked out of the throne room and standing right in front of him were Crystalyn and Talina. He quickly walked over to Talina and whispered "I need to talk to you please meet me in my lodging as soon as you can. Niel turned and rushed off to the house the elves were letting him use.

Crystalyn shivered as she approached the Queen. She felt dissapointed in herself for letting the Shade enter her mind. And now she would have to tell the Queen about it. She looked down at her palm where she held her amulent. It shone feebly in the dim palace lighting. She had scooped it up on the way back the castle. The Queen addressed the group.
"So, there was a Shade at the battle?" She asked. Crystalyn nodded sheepishly as she rembered the moment the Shade had made his way into her mind.

Melena had looked questionally at Neil as he passed he looked agitated. oh well she thought as she rushed to catch up with Talina and Crystallyn as they entered the throne room. Melena hung back a little since she really had nothing to anounce.

Talina looked at the queen as she asked " so....why have the Urgals come here and a Shade? surely they wanted to see if there were any dragon riders in the group" Talina nodded " yes my queen there was...and he seemed to find out who the dragon riders were but on a completely unintentional motion we were all fighting our minds key on one thing and that is to fight but the shade entered all of our minds tried to and was successful on getting the information he needed" she said she didn't say who he got it from but blamed it on them all it wasn't all Crystalyn's fault. The queen nodded though not very happy she said " very well...I'll be sure to have extra guards on the look out and make sure you all stay here for your full training" Talina shook her head " my queen I think it would be wise for us to have our training speed up as much as it can until our dragons grow to fly and can carry us and then we should get going to help the others" she said to her she wanted to end this conversation so she could talk to Neil and see what he wanted also.The queen looked at them all " do you all wish this?"

Crystalyn nodded feebly onced more. Then she spoke up.
"My queen, I feel that it is unfair for me not to say that it is my fault the Shade found what he was looking for. I was hit by an Ural club on the head and collapsed. He made his way into my mind as I was unconsiously thinking. I saw the four of us , meaning Niel, Melena and Telina and I, and the dragons. He saw it as set the image to flames. Now he knows that there are dragons, because of me."
She hung her head.

Melena looked up at crystalyn supprised that she would blam it all on herself. "your highness excuse me but it could have happened to any of us and it was bound to happen evetually and now that it has happened i feel that Talina is right in saying that we should try to speed our training up and be ready to take to the fly as soon as our dragons are big enough." Melena was anxious to get out of the throne room to rest and see what neil had to say.

Crystalyn cast a greatful glance twards Melena. She would thank her later. She turned to the Queen.
" My Queen, I know that it would be selfish of me to ask what I am about to, espesialy after I let our kingdom down so greatly, but I would like to train with Melena and Talina. I feel that i could assist them in some ways."
As soon as the words left her mouth, Crystalyn felt entirerly too selfish. How could she be so pigheaded as to ask a favor after she let her kingdom down?

Niel reached his hut and slammed the door behind him. He closed all of the curtains and set the pack on his bed. He opened the top and pulled out the white and gold egg. He lifted up up to the light and as he did so something started to move inside

Melena looked at crystalyn baffeled that she was still blaming herself for what had happened. once crystalyn had asked if she could train with her and talina Melena hoped the queen would say yes. even though Melena, talina, crystalyn and Neil had not known each other long Melena felt that they had a bond and she wanted them all to train together.

The queen nodded to her " it is not selfish but good to see there progress and to help in anyway possible to making there way gone, I agree you need to hurry on your way and I will let Oromis know that you need the quickest training he knew to become a dragon rider....you will not be complete and may not be able to face Gallabortix alone but I feel you would defeat others and together defeat him or his army" she said she made a elf come forward " send forth to Oromis and to begin there training right away" she said the elf nodded and ran off she looked at them " rest I will not make you train today you start tommorow and try to sink in as much knowledge and power you can" she said to them. Talina nodded and bowed respectfully " thank you my queen" she said she walked out before Melena and Crystalyn to find Neil to see what he wanted to talk to her about and she knocked on his door lightly.

Melana looked up at the queen thankfull that she would let crystalyn train with them. then she scrambled out of the throne room once they were dissmissed and ran after talina to neils place.

Niel set the egg down on the floor of his hut and it began to rock back and forth. Then one crack formed na d suddenly the whole egg burst open leaving a small white and gold dragon. Niel moved to touch it as the others had and the dragon seemed to notice him. It walked awkwardly forward and let him touch place his hand on it head. Niel felt a shock of tremendous pain but as soon as it had appeared it was gone. He looked at the dragon and it made some sort of noise. He went to touch it agaoin but it continued to make the noise. It walked over to his pack and stuck it's head inside. It lifted it's head out carrying a large piece of dried meat. Niel laughed as it made quick work of it. Suddenly a knock came at the door. He sprang up and the dragon looked over to the door. Niel walked to open the door and the dragon walked behind him. Niel opened the door and saw Talina and Melana. The dragon poked it's head out from behind his leg and looked at them with big blue eyes.
