Aeife was once again sitting in the deepest depths of the lake, toward its center. Her lungs, devoid of air, sat still in her chest as her body and hair were swayed by the gentle current of the lake. Yes, lakes have currents, but they are subtle. Her eyes were shut, as if she were in a meditative state. Looking up, her lids lifting slightly, she saw the surface of the water twinkling with the light of the sun. Bubbles released from her eyes instead of tears as she felt her sorrow swell within her.
Please do not forsake me... Do not forget me... Shouyin...
An underwater splash was heard and a passing shadow overhead grabbed her attention. It looked to be a man... But something was odd. This was not a person out to take a dip. Her eyes widened, feeling the pressure on her empty lungs, and she watched intently.

Landing quietly in the forest she set Traiza down and began creating a lean-to out of some nearby branches and bushes
Slowly he sat up and watched her for a moment, half asleep and unsure of what was happening
Momma, what're you doing? Why aren't we home?
Turning she smiled at him
We're gonna stay here for a while, just you and me ok? I'm gonna teach you a bunch of stuff
Traiza smiled and nodded, standing up and twitching his wings
What're we gonna learn?
I'm gonna teach you how to fight, find food, and get shelter. We'll start right now if you want
Standing there she started explaining hand-to-hand combat, watching him practice and smiling as he caught on though not entirely sure yet

*locks all of his limbs around the abhorrition's neck and where it's lung should be, trying to suffocate the thing while it squirmed and struggles furiousley. the thing better strangle soon, he was running out of air*

Aeife swam back some so that she could surface for air. She popped her head up for only a moment before diving back under. After moments of watching, she discovered that this man was fighting against some snake-likie beast. Why would someone want to wrestle with a snake? What had it done to him?
Reguardless of the situation, it was obvious that this person was going to run out of air, whether that was before or after the snake she couldn't tell. She hesitated as she swam a little closer. It would be preferable if she could aid from a distance. Without even thinking about it, a pulse emited from the jewel shard in her forehead. What happened next could be comparable to the way an undersea tremor can cause a tsunami. Her head was the center-point, and from there a great wave spread in growing diameter. On the surface, where all seemed calm to the observer's eye, the water shot up as if a great bubble of air, the size of the lake, had surfaced. It fell back in a shower and the surface of the lake was still again.
Everything within the lake had been stunned by this, including Aeife. It had thrown the fish for a loop, causing them to go limp and begin floating to the surface before they regained consciousness and scattered. This only seemed to prove that the elemental shards have a mind of their own and could work independantly of their holders. After she had come back to her senses, she looked to see how the man and his snake were affected by this sudden and strange blast.

*has suddenley been lifted up and out of the lake by means unknown. taked advantage of being out of the water by drawing breath while maintaining a stranglehold on the snake, and once they're abck in the water, he uses the hand that's not around its neck to beat the remaining air from the creature. The creature, after a few moments, went still finally, and he let go. they both started to float slowly back to th surface and he lay at the top, with his head above the water breathing hard and holding onbto the snake carcass as a floataion device, wondering two things. where that tidal wave came from and where the hell his equipment went*

Aeife looked upward to see that the man was fine and floating at the surface. And now she needed to surface for oxygen herself. She could feel the stale carbon dioxide sitting in her lungs, circulating again and again as useless waste. As much as she would like to lose consciousness from oxygen deprivation and drown in her dispair, something told her not to.
She swam slowly and silently along the bottom, making her way toward the waterfall so as not to be noticed when she surfaced. As she rose steadily, her head crested above the water and she forced herself not to take air in too quickly. Latching on to a nearby rock, she looked over to make sure that the man was unharmed by the bizarre action that occured minutes before.

Upon seeing the man move to an area of shore some ten meters away, Aeife moved toward the bush-tree. He appeared to only be suffering for exhaustion, so he wasn't physically harmed by what happened it seemed. Making as little noise as possible, she lifted herself from the water and onto the grass at the lakeside. She quickly grabbed her cloak and wrapped it about her shoulders, clasping the brooch at her neck to conceal her body.
Her blue eyes glanced at the man, checking to see if he had heard or seen her at all. Being cautious, she moved behind a nearby boulder to ensure that she might not be seen. She had to question herself for being so secretive and hiding like this. Why should she be so careful? Was it because she was afraid...? Of what?

*pricks his ears up when he heard a noise like a bush moving, catches a fleeting glance of a cloaked woman fleeing. he had neither the energy nor the equipment to inquire after her, so he lets it slip his mind. looks down to the snake*
Well...seeing as you're not going anywheres...
*takes off his swordbelt and strips to the waist and wades abck into the lake and swims to where he fell in and dives down to the bottom. casts about until he locates his falchion, his messer must be nearby, and his bow and arrows are all floating at the top*

Damiene_heika So how long are we staying? If it's overnight or longer I can sleep outside, most people got a problem with demons staying in their home though if you want I can keep watch or something. I feel kinda useless just tagging along without helping out or anythingLeaping up and catching the branches she swung along lazily keeping pace with the others

Traiza yawned widely as he finished his drills Are we done yet? This is hard and I'm getting hungry
Nodding Toni stood up and motioned him to take one of her daggers
We're going hunting
Leading the way she showed him how to track, following a deer and showing him how to trap it and prepare it for dinner. He was half disgusted, half awed at her meticulous attention to detail and followed her example carefully as he caught his own rabbit

Aeife's breath froze in her chest as she crouched against the rock. She could feel her chest tightening and a numbness in her head. It was happening again!
"Not now... No," her hand clutched at her bare chest as she tried to surpress it. It was one of the stronger attacks, the kind that made her shake all over. She lowered to her knees, gritting her teeth and breathing heavily. She had to get through this! She couldn't live the rest of her life bending to this pain in her chest. Indeed if she could survive at all. Latching on to the rock with her free hand, she attempted to keep herself steady as her head began to spin.

Ekko stared at the house, sheepishly standing back away from the crowd and began to inch toward the nearest tree. It made her uneasy to intrude especially if Suru's mother grew upset with a demon appearing with her son. Jumping silently up into the branches she made herself comfortable as she pulled the leaves over her, her tail flicking lazily
Guess I'd better get comfortable, it'll be a while before I go anywhere

Traiza wolfed down his food and flopped down on the grown, snuggling in to the tall warm grass mumbling to himselfSleepy... gonna... nap and... work more later...
Toni smiled as she nibbled at her food and watched him for a while until she noticed something that made her dropped everything she'd been holding. Traiza was growing quickly from the the age of around 5 now to almost the size of an 8 year old
That has GOT to be the shortest growth spurt I've ever seen
Picking up from their dinner she grabbed a blanket and curled up next to him and fell asleep mumbling to herself almost as much as Traiza had
Mmhhmm... Volgraza... be back... soon...

*has located his grossemesser finally and makes it to the surface, swims over to the pile of clothes and lays his swords down. pauses for a bit as some heavy breathing catches his ear. he follows it to the direction the woman was heading and sees a boulder. the woman was hiding behind the boulder and seemed to be in a lot of pain. rushes to her*
