A flicker of ill humor crossed through Sybrant's mind, her eyes remaining on Senka for a moment before looking up at Haku. It does interest me. But what interests me more is my Bond, who can't stand on her own right now. Instead of contridicting me about not caring for one who I have no relations to, why don't you instead try imaging for /one/ moment how I must feel. Or can you not do that?
"Thanks, De'carn." She whispered, her other hand resting on his seemingly blood-splattered wing. She had been listening in, though her eyes were on the elf. True, she didn't know his name. But, he had been with those evil bastards for who knows how long. She took a step foreward, daring to leave her supports. After wobbling for a moment, her balance slowly came back to life as she took a few more hesitant steps.

I wasn't under the impression that creatures like you had feelings. Was his reply, his head lowered to inspect the boy. A whisker poked his shoulder, shaking his head at the way he winced. Aran, cut off the rope around his hands, please.
Aran hesitated. "Maybe his hands are tied for a reason..."
That voice! One eye opened cautiously. Still shadows, but... he wasn't Riten. Or Versel. Brytan opened his other eye, not speaking a word, and keeping his mouth shut.

Carefully leashed rage started to bark as her silver eyes narrowed. What gave you that impression? Because I am one of the shadow element, doesn't mean I can not feel. You would be surprised how much us shadow wyrms can 'feel'? With that, Sybrant moved foreward, staying at Senka's side incase she swooned.
Senka rested a hand lightly on Sybrant's scaled shoulder, her eyes watching the whole scene. "Is he... okay?" She bit her lip as she looked at the one that the White Wyrm prodded. He seemed... familiar.

I doubt it.
"Haku." Aran warned, glaring at the hybrid. "I think he's okay. Hey, kid." He nudged the boy again, taking out his knife and cutting the ropes off of his hands, revealing scars around the wrists up around his fingers.
Brytan didn't trust himself to speak, didn't trust himself to sound so happy to be free. They could easily press him into slavery, but the instant someone scared him, he would fly away. Fly faster than a bird. Faster than a falcon.

And I doubt you'd be willing to give a shadow a chance to prove we aren't all sadisic evil bastards bent on ruling the land. She stopped walking as Senka crouched down near the strange boy.
Senka crouched down when she was near enough, reaching a hand out to tenderly touch the boy's shoulder. "Hey... They're long gone. Nothing bad's going to happen to you, I promise.." True, it was most likely a promise she couldn't keep. But she wanted some kind of response from him...

((Don't ask, please.))
Such a pity there's no more room for surprises. You've got me all figured out up front. Haku shot back, his voice full of lament, though his green eyes sparked angrily. The long hybrid nosed his merman's shoulder, eager to get him up and out of here soon as possible.
Brytan winced at the girl's touch from instinct. At her kind words, he spoke quietly. "Promise?" An innocent voice, frightened, shocked. His hands, freed from their imprisonment, reached up to his shoulder and touched hers softly.
~~~~~
Sybrant growled softly, but refused to say a rebuttle in return. She inhaled, trying to calm herself. Haku... I thank you. You and your Bonded both for helping me get Senka back. I really don't think there would be anything I could do to repay you... Her tone had softened down to a sincere level.
Senka watched him somewhat closely, seeing his wince at her touch. A smile crossed her face as he spoke. His voice reminded her of a child's own. "Yes... I promise." Gingerly, she shifted from her crouch on her haunches down to sit on her knees. "Can you sit up..? And maybe tell me something about yourself?"
~~~~~~
You don't need to repay us. Haku replied. Aran's head tilted slightly, and he nodded his confirmation.
"Would have been a terrible person or wyrm to have passed by when you needed help." Aran pointed out, looking at the dark wyrmess. Something from Haku was mumbled. A small agreement.
Brytan sat slowly up, feeling the slightest bit of pain flare before vanishing almost instantly from his fall off Riten's back. The rope from his bindings slid into his lap. For a moment, he fell silent, before his head bowed. His voice remained soft. "My name is... was..." He paused a moment, shaking his head slightly. White hair slid from behind his shoulders, leaving the long tips of his ears exposed, "...is Brytan Aeralith." Another pause. They deserved to know, he decided. The worst they could do was leave him for the sun. "And I am a monster." He glanced up quickly, before meekly ducking it again.
~~~~~
If your sure... Sybrant looked from Haku to his Bond, then down at her own. A smile failed to reach her features, but it sparkled in her eyes. Words couldn't express how she felt at the moment. She only prayed it wouldn't happen again in the future.
As he sat up, Senka let her hand fall from his shoulder back to her side. She listened, her head falling to the side slightly. With the knowledge that Brytan was alright, Senka glanced over her shoulder at the other 'human' present. She inhaled, her mind reading the scents in the air. This was seriously an odd bunch. Senka flashed a smile at the other, before turning to Brytan. "Why do you claim yourself a monster?"
"We are," Haku and Aran replied together, Aran standing up to stretch his legs. Sitting still for too long wasn't his favorite thing to do. At Brytan's words, he halted his movements. His muscles tensed, ready to spring should this so called monster decide to demonstrate. He felt Haku on edge, almost begging for a fight. Haku, don't attack him unless he goes first. Aran ordered, receiving nothing but a low growl from his hybrid friend.
His head lifted slightly, one hand idly reaching up to push his hair back out of the way. "Why?" Brytan inquired softly. "Because I am." His upper lip lifted to reveal a pair of glistening fangs, his formerly preoccupied hand pushing hair out of the way to reveal two circle shaped scars on the right side of his neck for only a moment before he left his hair fall back down, his lips hiding the fangs again.
Sybrant's eyes watched Brytan like a hawk after he made the soft statement. If he was a monster as he proclaimed... He just better not make any move to harm anyone.
Tensing slightly as she saw the evidence, she tried her hardest not to show it. Senka inhaled deeply, allowing her body a moment to try to untense. "Just because the factors are there, doesn't necessarily make you a monster. You are only truely a monster when you give into it, and act as a monster. "
"I would have killed you after you started to bleed. I would not have felt remorse until my hunger had passed, and would cease feeling it when the hunger began again. I am an animal, nothing more." 'Nothing more' was barely more than a whisper, his body having curled up defensively, waiting to be hit. Stabbed. Tied up and left for the sun. He deserved it. His shoulder began to slightly shake, his eyes tearing up shamelessly. Even here, with nothing to lose, he couldn't keep himself from becoming an embarassment.
De'carn had remained silent, watching the small group while pondering a few things on his own. No one knew he had been the one protecting the kidnappers, which was good, of course, but what if they got to thinking? Bah. Why suspect him? They probably wouldn't. Lady Sybrant, he said calmly, vampires are dangerous folk to keep about, especially when turned so young, very especially if they've been like this for less than a decade. He will not have any control for ages now, and will most likely attack Lady Senka. He's a danger to your bond. Haven't we had enough of those for tonight?
Aran blinked, subtly reaching for the dagger at his side. Vampires were fast by themselves, and Brytan was an elf, no less. He probably gave the wind a good race.
Senka's eyes widened, her hand found her cheek that was crusted with caked blood. She involuntarily swallowed, instinctual fear began to kick itself back into gear. Her mind flickered back, to when she had gotten ahold of the strange smell when they had been taken hostage. "So, that's what that was..." She muttered under her breath. "Brytan... You really have two options," She spoke softly, in sedated tones that hid her actual fear. "either you can accept it as a part of you and live with it, or stay out in the clearing until the sun comes up. It's your choice, but just because you are what you are, doesn't mean you can not live through it." Hating herself for sounding so unkind, Senka slowly stood up from her crouch.
The news was all new to the shadow wyrmess. She hadn't heard much about vampires, actually... Thank you, De'carn. No, I'd rather not have her in danger ever again. Sybrant turned to Senka, nudging the girl's shoulder with her muzzle. Senka? Perhaps we should leave him be, and head off on our way. If he chooses to save himself, then so be it. If not, then there isn't much we can do. It's a matter of him wanting to save himself.
Ever again's going to be a hard shot. De'carn pointed out, watching the lad before him carefully. He had nothing to fear, no bonded to be hurt, scales to save him from being bitten, and the little thing was interesting. With a small mental shrug, De'carn looked at Sybrant and Senka, awaiting a decision.
He listened carefully to the spoken conversation, not moving. Finally he curled up a little tighter, eyes closing as a single tear fell onto his shirt. Did he really intend to stay here until daylight? He didn't know. Either way, he was defeated. His bare feet were suddenly tickled by moving grass, the plants seeking to comfort him. Smiling gratefully, Brytan used his forearm to wipe his face on before looking up at them all. He said nothing, but gave a small smile.
I can try my hardest, though. Sybrant didn't look at De'carn as she spoke to him, keeping a watch on Senka. Come on, Senka. It's best we get going...
Senka ignored Sybrant at that moment, giving Brytan a small smile in return. "Well...?"
"I want to live free." Brytan said, uncurling and allowing him to stand. He glanced at those around him, some part of him whispering that the night would soon be over. "I want to live free." He repeated, holding out his hand. "Will you help me?"
