Rei let out a sigh and stood up just as the nurses office door opened and the nurse stepped in. She blinked at both boys bewildered. "What are you both doing in here?" she asked her brow creased.
"Kai's really sick miss" Rei said his voice full of worry as he told the nurse what was wrong with his friend.

Kai frowned, mumbling under his breath," I'm not sick..." Even though he knew it wasn't true, he still has his pride to consider before his well being though.

"Yes you are Kai don't be so stubburn!" Rei said and then stuck out his tounge.
"You'll have to leave Mr.Kon only one person in here at a time."
Rei nodded waved at Kai and left the room. He sat down on one of the chairs outside the room.

Kai's face turned solemn as Rei left, no longer having anything comforting around him, or anything familiar for that matter. The nurse, trying to take his temperature, got the meanest Hiwatari glare Kai could muster, but not wanting to seem like a child, he stubbornly allowed the thermomator to be placed in his mouth.
OOC: I can't think of anything else much right now, since I feel prtty much like Kai... -.-;;

Back in the classroom, Tyson turned to Hilary once the teacher proceeded to start that day's session.
"Hey, Hilary," the dark blue-haired teen whispered hoarsely, poking the girl's shoulder with a pencil for good measure.
"For goodness' sake, Tyson," Hilary hissed back, rubbing her shoulder where she'd been poked. "We've already got detention for the day. Do you want to make it a week?!"
Honestly, sometimes she couldn't understand the boy; he didn't know when to quit, even when someone had already gotten on his case for breaking the rules - or disregarding them, in this case.
Tyson paid no attention to the ruby-eyed girl's remark. "What d'you think happened to Kai?"
"Apparently he got sick, somehow," Hilary replied, raising an eyebrow questioningly. "Wasn't it obvious?"
"Well, yeah, it was...I just thought I was hallucinating."
"Huh?" Hilary turned her attention from the board and the teacher and back to Tyson. "What do you mean 'hallucinating'?"
Tyson grinned widely. "Well...it's rare for Kai to get sick - even the common cold is uncommon to him -"
"Seriously, Tyson, how childish can you get?" Hilary was annoyed now, and she had to exercise a lot of control just to keep herself from shouting at him. "So now you're going to suggest we visit him during the break, probably so you can rub it in his face that he's sick? I think not."
"That's not true!" the stormy-eyed teen protested, struggling to keep his voice down; contrary to what Hilary thought, he didn't want to get in any more trouble than he already was. "I wanna make sure he's doin' okay; if he's caught something, then something must be seriously wrong."
Hilary turned back to Tyson for the second time, skeptical about what she'd heard. But when she saw his face, it struck her as sincere, and she allowed herself a small smile. "Whatever, Tyson. Now I think you'd better stand and answer Mr. Nakayama's question."
Tyson was confused. What -
"Granger, I asked you a question!" The teacher barked.
The dark blue-haired teen quickly stood up. "S-sorry, sir!" he stammered. "Erm...wh-what was the question again?"

Rei twidled his thumbs outside of the nurses office. "Rei Kon" a voice said and he looked up to see the head of year.
"What are you doing here?" he asked.
"I'm waiting for Kai sir, he's in the nurses office" he answered and was supriced to see the head of year frown.
"I'm sure Mr Hiwatari is capable of getting back to lesson on his own. Go back to class." he said before turning and walking into his own office. Rei cursed the teacher before standing and walking back towards the class room. "Sorry Kai, I hope your okay" he whispered to himself before opening the door and sitting back in his place.

Tyson, who had just finished answering their teacher's question, glanced up for a while and spotted Rei heading back inside the classroom. The blue-eyed teen waited until his friend was seated before leaning towards him, the teacher's back turned to the class once again.
"Hey, Rei," he began, voice barely above a whisper once more. "How's Kai? Is he all right?"
"Tyson, quit whispering in class!" Hilary hissed, kicking the teen's shin in irritation. Honestly, did he think that no one could hear him?
Tyson held back a yelp of pain when the auburn-haired girl kicked him, but quieted down, anyway.

Rei smiled slightly at the navy haired teen. "He'll be fine, It's Kai after all" he whispered before returning to his unfinished work.

OOC: Sorry I haven't post in a while, I've been sick with that cold and haven't felt well enough to type! -.-;;
BIC:
"Oh dear, you seem to be running a fever," The nurse commented after pulling the thermometor out of Kai's mouth," I'm afraid you might have to go home, young man."
Kai frowned, there were two test's today that he needed to take. He wasn't going to just let some illness rule his life! He'd tell the teacher that eh would have to refuse going home, and go take those tests, and-
"Ok."
What? Had he just agreed! No, bad Hiwatari, bad! What was wrong with him? Was it the fever he had, making him act against his own will? No, Kai Hiwatari, and Kai Hiwatari alone, decided what he did!
The nurse smiled, glad he wasn't putting up a fight," If you wish, you can lay down in here for a little bit while I get someone to fetch any school work you'll be missing."
No, I could go get my own school work, I didn't need anyone else to do it for me! I suddenly felt a wave of dizziness and sleepiness hit me, and I quietly nodded as I let myself fall on the firm, and very uncomfortable bed placed to the side of the nurse's office. Boy did this make him look tough...
OOC: I couldn't really think of anything... -.-;;

Rei doodled in his margin not really paying attention to what the teacher was saying when the door opened. He quickly looked up expecting to see Kai but it was the nurse. He frowned.
"Excuse me Sir. Kai Hiwatari has to go home ill please may I have any of the work he will be missing" the nurse said poliently to there teach.
Kai was actually going home because of an illness? Was he okay? But before he could ask the nurse she had already left with Kai's work.

Hilary cast a glance towards Rei, questioning. She'd known Kai long enough to know that he usually didn't let anything stop him. Why was he doing so now?
"Wow. Never thought I'd see this happening..." Tyson commented under his breath. "Kai's actually going home 'cause he's sick..."
"And I suppose this is a carnival sideshow attraction of sorts to you, Tyson?" Hilary asked, although her question didn't have as much 'bite' as she wanted it to; she was worried for her friend. And Rei, too; the golden-eyed teen looked...well, he didn't look like the calmest of people at this point.
"Hey, Rei?" She ventured, "I'm sure there's a reason why Kai chose to go home instead. He'll be better soon; you said so yourself, right?"

Rei tried to give Hilary a smile but failed. "Yeh he'll be fine. Maybe he forgot to do homework or something so he's skiving" He said trying to convince himself more than her.
He let out a sigh as the bell rang out indicating the end of the lesson. He picked up his things. He'd just have to head over to Kai's after school

As soon as the nurse came back with his homework, Kai figured he'd had enough of a break off of his feet. Getting up, he swore someone must have replaced the bones in his legs with tubes of jell-o.
"Now dear, do you need me to call your grandfather to have him pick you up?" The nurse asked, a sickenly sweet smile on her face, as she handed Kai his homework.
"No, ma'am, I can just call him myself." Kai shoved his homework into his bag, before exiting from the Nurses' Office. He must have put up a good enough front, for if the nurse truely knew how he felt, she wouldn't have just let him leave. Kai figured there was no way in hell he was calling his grandfather to send someone to pick him up, so he started the long trek home, moving about two inches down the sidewalk a minute.
"I wish I would have taken some asprins before I lieft..." He mumbled, trying to keep his eyes open, as well as trying to ignore his searing headache and jell-o legs.

For Rei the rest of the day dragged by so slowly. When the bell finally rang he quickly packed his bag and ran out of the school.
"Hello Rei" a voice said as he walked outside the school gates.
Tala and Bryan were walking past Rei's school on the way to Spencer's house when they saw him.
"Oh hello" Rei replied to Tala. "sorry got to go check on Kai" he said before darting off leaving Tala and Bryan bewildered.
Tala shruged his shoulders and the continued walking.
