lovegenie and do one chance pokemon like legendaries have a chance to be shiny if you fight them but reset if their not shiny? Yup, you can do the same thing with starters too. Anything you can save in front of before fighting, you can reset and reset until it's shiny. It takes a lot of patience, and probably hours and hours of trying, but in most cases it's worth it.
I did that with Lapras in my Crystal version, 'cause a purple Lapras is soooo perdy. heart I caught it at like 5 minutes to midnight, which is good because I would have lost my chance after the clock changed over to Saturday instead of Friday. gonk

I caught a shiny Hariyama once, then i traded it... sweatdrop I also ran into a shiny hoothoot in crystal/silver, but i accidentally KO'd it. gonk And of course, the red gyarados. 3nodding I'm not sure of any others. i'll update as i remember them, if there are any more.

My memory has gone, but I do believe I accidently knocked one out when trying to level. At that time I didn't know about shinies (I didn't find out until R/S came out). That's the only shiny I ever saw from all the hours I spent on all the Pokemon games I have. crying

How many shinies have I personally come across in the wild? Uhmm...I think 3. The famously rare red gyrados from silver xD, a shiny gastly in Crystal, and a bannette in Sapphire? No I think it was emerald....oh wait no it was sapphire haha
How many shinies do I actually have in Diamond version? 24. Haha. I'm a collector so it's not all that strange for me to have many of rares. I think I have 4 shiny umbreons and 3 shiny latios. Latios and Umbreon are ALWAYS in my main team so it's nice to have shiny ones :3 I think my other shinies, this is by memory so this isn't all of them, are:
Manectrick, Charizard x2, sableye, golem, crobat, jirachi, blastoise, lapras, latios x3, umbreon x4, ninetails, ghastly, sandslash, tentacruel, Typlosian and espeon
But those are just all I can strait out remember. I'd have to look into my shiny box to remember the rest.

Ooh.. shinyness Pokemon! Lemme see...
1. Sentrate in Crystal (got away, sadly)
2. Kadabra in LeafGreen (amazing was also holding a Twisted spoon! I was lucky to catch it!)
3. Wismer in Saphire (now an Exploud)
4. Psyduck in Dimond (now a Golduck)
5. Peleaper in Dimond (i was surprized i found two shineys in one game!)
6. Dusclops (my cuson traded it to me)
ah... I love my shineys... but Vaporeon STILL is my fave hands down! ^^

I got a shiny Pidgey the other day. Only about 20 hours into my new LeafGreen game too. ^_^

I use to have a shiny Butterfree from Silver and a shiny manectric but both game files winded up erased, causing them to go into non-existence. sweatdrop But I did catch a shiny slowpoke (now slowking) and ditto. Ditto was migrated to my Diamond game and I still have yet to migrate my slowking there as well.

I had a shiny Poliwrath, but I traded it for a Scizor. And I have a shiny Arcanine and I'm working on getting a shiny Absol. razz

Ugh @_@ I have been chaining for days in attempts to get a shiny Tyrogue and Shiny Oddish (I want the cuteness that is a shiny bellossom!)
