"I guessed it was because you were a jackass but now I'm not so sure." He looked at Xearus for a minute and said, "I heard something about you, said the boss man didn't like you too much. So my guess is I was some kind of punishment..." He looked ahead and saw the manor rising in the distance. "Who the hell is this Blackrose guy anyway? I heard this whole war started because of some chick, Thalia. Heard tell she was quite a looker, a real babe." He shook his head, "This is why chicks shouldn't be allowed to be in power. They go adn do stupid s**t like piss off the Lord of a faction."

Smack. Lightning quick but not to hard. Just enough to stop his babbling on Thalia and the like. "Talk about Thalia like that and Darvien will have your head....and I am a jackass. Comes with the 'trapped in teenage body' complex. And no Darvien doesn't like me, I'm too willful, but he keeps me around because of my blood. I have my old master to thank for that I suppose."
He sniffed, then sighed. "Lynx Blackrose. Leader of the Blackrose Faction and lover to Thalia Adrik. Darvien is angry because Thalia defied him and is now with Lynx. I think Darvien is being rather hostile over a little fight and dislike."
Xearus stopped...and stared at the door. He had to go in, had to show he still had Calin and Calin wasn't ashes. "Try not to embarrass yourself Calin." With a breath he pushed open the door, letting himself in, and calling out. "Lord Adrik? I've returned with Calin."

"Hey.." Calin flinched a little at the smack but didn't fight back. He saw no reason too and he figured it was because he had called Thalia a babe. Though from the description he had of her, she was. But then if she was the boss man's daughter, it would make sense that he would get yelled at for talking abotu her like that. He followed behind Xearus wondering why the smartass Xearus was now so hesitant. And why did he have to go see Lord Adrik too? He was a bit concerned about that...

Darvien, stood at the window, hands behind his back idly tapping his fingers against those on the other hand.
"So I see. And he is well fed, I take it, and learned not to be so ignorant about what he is doing? Or, did you guys get into a scrape with a few blackroses where you assaulted my daughter and Calin nearly got himself made into ash?"
Of course, he woudl know. terrified fledglings had made sure he'd known, asking what to do, if they would have permission to go over the border and get a little payback. His voice was calm, which didn't bode well either. when he was calm, he was able to think, and when he thought, he coudl do same very horrible things to people.

Xearus locked his knees so that he wouldn't start shaking. Few scared him, and sometimes he didn't even fear Darvien. But Darvien hadn't jumped him yet or even turned around...and that was a very bad thing.
"Yes, Lord Adrik...he is fed...but not competent in hunting yet. And we did fight with Blackroses. I pushed Calin too hard too fast I suppose. He ran for it and ended up over the border lines, I followed and brought him back with the help of Semara."
No sense in hiding it...it would only get his legs broken and silver shoved down his throat. Not pretty sights at all. "As for your daughter....forgive me Lord Adrik, I meant her no harm. I only took hold of her to scare her young bloods into giving me Calin."

Calin shrunk back at the mention of his name. He had ascertained very quickly, that this man was nto one to play with and it scared him. Shitless. Even Xearus was nervous, that much was obvious. He took a deep breath and said in a shaky voice, "I-It's true...it was all my fault...I took off running. But I wouldn't have if he hadn't smacked me around so much. I was pissed..." Not a very good excuse but it was the truth. He thoght he might be able to exonerate himself if he blamed it on Xearus. After all it was his fault.

Darvien was silent, before turning around and looking at them both, while his body siad calm, his eyes said pissed enough to scared the devil back into hell. The doors shut, and Darvien hit a button under his desk, a section of wall sliding to reveal a metal door, and he walked over, looking at Xearus first.
"You didn't do what you were told to, again. And you dared to even lay a hand on my daughter, does not make it better on your part. And don't think I won't punish you for it."
Then to Calin, and his hand shot out, and gripped him by the collar, lifting him clear off the ground like he was a bag of sugar, and slamming him down on the desk, and and slapping him as hard as he could, prolyl enough to break his nose, opening his drawer and taking out the gun, and putting the barrel in his mouth, more than willing to break teeth if the boy was wanting to struggle, and drew back the hammer.
"And YOU. You are damn lucky that he even bothered to come after you. You know the rule. You cross the border, your a** is ash. not only that, but you forced MY DAUGHTER to be taken hostage and roughed up on your behalf. So, I think I'll let Xearus see if he can come up with one good reason why I shouldn't pull this trigger."
Darvien was in a pissy mood, alright.

Definitely not good. Calin's eyes widened as he was picked up adn slammed onto the desk. His cheek was on fire adn he felt a crack as his his nose broke, blood beginning to gush. Yep bad. Then he became very scared when the cold metal of the barrel of a gun forced it's way into his mouth. Drops of blood appeared on his brow and dripped down and he trembled lightly. Cocking the gun only served to scare him more. And now his fate rested in Xearus' hands. His eyes swiveled over and he let out a whimper and a pleading look to the other vampire. He didn't want to die..

A slight sheen of blood sweat was visible on Xearus' face. Button pushed and a wall sliding back to reveal a metal door? s**t. That meant...anything. Worse he could think of was that he was going to get locked up and starved. He swallowed and his breathing hitched. "Lord Adrik, I tried....I've never had a fledgling to myself." Yeah that was going to make it better, not. He was grabbing for excuses that wouldn't even help him.
Xearus didn't even flinch as Darvien had grabbed Calin and slammed him down. He remembered it happening to him various times before. And that damn gun too. But what was this? Darvien putting Calin's life in his hands? Part of him said to scoff and look away, would serve him right. But for some reason the other half didn't want it to happen. Perhaps he was being selfish. "PLease...Lord Adrik, spare him this time. I want to keep him." He plucked some courage. "Yes, I'd like to make him into what you wanted me to. I want to show you that I'm competent in this matter."

Darvien, looked at Calin, and then at Xearus. then back to Calin. and he pulled the gun from his mouth, and flung the fledgling off his desk to Xearus' feet.
"Be grateful for Xearus' mercy. After tonight I would personally stake you for the sun. and it would be silver stakes I'd make sure you'd be in the most pain I could create for you."
Then a look to Xearus.
"And while you are learning, as your manners certainly improved...you should have left him for dead. Semara would hav backed your story. and while I would have been upset..you have no idea, Xearus, what my daughter's well being means. Even if she as on the arm of that god damned drifting pissant that is looking to challenge me in MY city!"
that gun got waved, with the very real possibility of it even accidentally going off and hitting one of them. and then he was quiet again, the gun in hand behind his back..and walked over to the room and opened the door, and then walked back over, and grabbed Calin by the collar, and dragged him to the room, and flung him in, before motioning to Xearus.
"While I admire your honesty, and your willingness to watch over Calin. here's your first chance, you don't kill eachother."
And pushed Xearus in as well, and shut the door on them, the room was rectangular, and the lengthwise walls layered in silver, and teh top of the room obviously opened up on the ceiling, mostly likely to allow sunlight in, but didn't open the whole room, just enough to force people agaisnt the silver wall. before Darvien's voice came over an intercom.
"I like this will be nice for you two to get to know eachother for a bit. Perhaps a few nights starvation and some sunlight and silver will also teach you to do what your told. and not fail in things."

Wait...but Darvien had said he better bring Calin back...so then why...s**t. Then when Calin was thrown in, he thought perhaps a different punishment was in store for him. But then he was shoved in as well.
The voice over the intercom only nailed the coffin shut. Silver, fine, he could deal, starvation, he had lived through it before....but sunlight. He wanted to scream at that, turn into the child he was portrayed as and beg to be let out of that room.
Xearus' breathing picking up, as little trails of blood decided they wanted to roll down his face now. A look up and he swallow, actually visibly shaking. Sunlight. How far was morning? He was starting to panic. Never before has Darvien put him at the threat of sunlight.
Then he thanked his trench coat. That would at least keep him from getting burned when he leaned against the walls. Long sleeves were a god send sometime. But being so close to the silver would make it uncomfortable, and he had to keep from falling asleep. Wait falling asleep.
He looked to Calin. Calin was a fledling...wait, why was Xearus caring. It was his fault that he was stuck in here with the impending doom of sun. It was his fault that Lynx would become enemy, it was his fault he had to grab Thalia. His fist clenched. And he looked to Calin with a sneer and a hiss.

Calin fell onto his stomach in the room and slowly stood up brushing himself off as he did so. He looked around the room and instantly became very, very afraid. He looked at the panels on the wall and walked over, dragging a finger across one. Yelping he pulled his finger back when it burned and stuck it in his mouth then looked up as Xearus was pushed in. His eyes widened and he began to shake. This was not good. Was this the ultimate trial? Who would win a fight to the death? There was no contest...Xearus would kill him. And the look on his face right now said that very clearly. His eyes widened and he shook his head, his body trembling. He was going to die, he could feel it...

Marx brushed off the blood spots on his cheek. The political leader he was ordered to kill was a bit more prepared than some of the others. His usual method of assassination somehow turned into a sword fight within the man's room. Marx wondered why the man had so many swords yet he didn't even know what it felt like to pick one up, let alone use one. The kill was messy and it left Marx with little dinner, most of the blood soaking into the soft carpet.
He looked around his suit one more time before heading toward Lord Adrik's room. Once there he took off his glasses and placed them into his brest pocket, his red eyes slightly glowing in the dark hallway, and knocked on the door.
"May I come in Lord Adrik?"

Darvien was watching Calin and Xearus on a small monitor that came out of his desktop, and looked up at teh door.
"Do come in, Marx. I take it things went well?"
Darvien was in a much better mood now, and rather amused watching the other two vampires in the room. it would be beautiful. no food that left them both to turn on eachother. but Xearus couldn't risk killing him, and Calin couldn't possibly take Xearus. which might be amusing if one fed on teh other and formed that mystical love of the blood bond. he coudl imagine the ***** or homosexual jokes they be ridiculed with.
A glance up at Marx, waiting for his report.

"My lord," he bowed deeply and looked up. "The councilman was disposed of, as you asked sir. However it may seem like information is being leaked. He seemed much more prepared for my arrival than others. However that was only a minor set back and his death was assured as soon as you wished it." He bowed again. He noticed that Lord Adrik was strangely in a pleasant mood and hesitatnly asked, "What has Master Xearus done now?"
