"Really just everything, I love politics it's very interesting, but I do want to learn more about Japanese politics, as I'll be going to univeristy there when I graduate from high school," she said eating another fry then taking a drink from her pop. "I heard europe is very interesting, however I'm not very sure we're welcome over there right now, considering the state of things in the world right now."

Kevin finished his burger with another bite before replying, "That's true now. Hopefully, things will be more civil after five or six years though." He smiled again remembering that he was actually talking to someone that knew more than the current events of their hometown. "I've always been interested in the Spanish culture and politics, not much with the French though. They just happen to be convenientally close by," he said picking up a fry. He then pointed it towards Natsuko, "And what girl would not like a date or trip to Paris? I mean," he placed the fry in his mouth and chewed on it a couple times before continuing, "I hope to start a relationship before I head out there. Whether I'm married or just dating someone, hopefully someone with an aspiration to see the world." He picked up another fry and placed it in his mouth.

"Yeah, I'm looking forward to getting out of the states, I really love Japan it's beautiful there, but I would like to see the rest of the world as well. There is so much more out there then this place." She said, finishing her fries and pushing the tray away, "Ugh, I'm so full." She said leaning back on the bench, placing her hands on the bench. "I'd actually really rather go to Rome or Venice, Paris is to cliche for me..." She said standing up to throw her left over food in the trash, "you don't want any of this do you?" she asked before dumping it in the trash.

Kevin gestured to his own tray, which still had food on it. "I'm good thanks," he said as he picked up his apple again and took another bite. "The Roman Empire and the start of the American Industrial age, well the government during that time, are extremely interesting. Like During the first world war America was the muscle and everyone knows of the rise of the Roman Empire," he said with a small laugh. "You know, when I was younger I had the idea to rule the world. And as I grew and became more knowledgeable I actually came up with ideas and plots that would actually make it a possiblity," he smiled as he recollected on those memories.
Kevin shook it off, "Just child fantasies though. What do you plan to do after you graduate in Japan?" He took another bite of his apple.

"MMm... haven't really thought that far in advance, gets masters and probably doctorate probably, my parents wanted me to become a doctor anyway, so maybe I'll do that." She shrugged and dumped her food in the trash. "After that maybe get married and have a family. Maybe I'll become a concert violinist, who really knows right?" She sat back down at the table, "My god I wish I could eat that much," she laughed a little and leaned forward on the table. "So you want to be a teacher?"

"Yep," Kevin replied as he took the last bite of his apple and left the core on the tray. "I plan to start schooling here in the states then head out to Spain where I'll finish my education. I don't want to be another typical American English teacher...I actually want to teach something more meaningful. Not sure what though, either history or math. Great thing about math is that it's the same everywhere. Four plus four is eight anywhere you go." He laughed as he stood up with his tray. He emptied the leftovers and placed the tray down. He returned to his seat and then looked at Natsuko for a moment.
Kevin hesitated for a moment, wondering if he should even ask. "How bad does it get?" he asked referring to the pain or the different environment after her parents' accident.

"Huh... oh well...." She said crossing her legs again, placing her head in her hand, "I guess, sometimes it's really bad but I'm mostly recovered now, but if I over exert myself I have a hard time walking, but most of the time I'm fine...." She said tapping her lip again thinking, "As far as emotionally... I cry all the time, my sister is in Japan so I'm pretty much alone all the time, and I'm kind of lost. I spent the better part of the summer mailing schedules and reading here in my room. The counciler says it's part of the healing process or something. I don't think she ever lost a parent honestly." She said uncrossing her legs and putting them flat on the ground, "And then I have really bad mood swings, or inapporiate emotional outbursts. But I guess I'm dealing ok....my sister is supposed to come back for Christmas but I doubt she will..." She said sighing a little.

Kevin reached behind him and touched the damp part of his shirt. It was still wet. He moved his hand back in front of him and said, "Yeah...I've been victim to some of those emotional outbursts and your mood swings." He let out a small laugh. "What were you reading earlier today? Before class?" he asked interested in learning a little about her and trying to change the subject for her sake.

"Yeah" she laughed a little, "Sorry about that, I'll try to keep that under control...." She said reaching down to grab the book out of her bag, it was both to show him and to hide the deep red blush on her face, "It's called 'Define Normal' a silly teenage girl book, not something you'd probably be interested in.... hell I shouldn't be all that interested in it, not exactly what we'd call intellectual reading.." She said looking at the cover, with a even brighter blush now. She tended to keep it a secret she liked this kind of a book, it wasn't exactly good for her reputation as the smartest girl in class.

"Define Normal," Kevin said softly as he took the book from Natsuko's hands. He looked at the cover than at the back and started to read a little bit. "Fiction," he said just as softly as the last phrase. "Does it make you think?" he asked as he handed back the book. "I don't mean that you learned an actual thing, just did it cause you to think about things differently."

She sighed and crinkled her brow a little bit, "How do I explain it..." She said trying to think, tapping her lips she laughed a little, "I guess it just makes me feel... and it's an interesting story it makes me feel better..." She said, "i don't always do things to learn, entertainment every once in a while is nice, that's what it is I guess." She laughed a little, "So speaking of entertainment, what do you do for fun?"

Pointless, Kevin thought. Fiction isn't bad and Natsuko was right you don't always have to learn. He himself read interesting books by the author of Terry Pratchett. But they certainly motivate a different type of thought process. They make you think differently. Everything should have some benefit. Feel better, he guessed would be a benefit. He shook it off and looked from the table to Natsuko. "I win," he said flatly. It was true, whether it was a sport, a debate, an argument, or just a random challenge somebody thought up...he found winning to be the best thing to him. It made him 'feel better' and it just proves his superiority.

"I see.... I guess winning is fun, I always found competing to be the better part. The aderline rush of it... going as hard as you can to get to the other side, it's exhilerating..." she thought, thinking of swimming of course, the only really sport she was competing in this year, "Do you play tennis?" she asked out of no where, it was probably odd and out of place but she hadn't found a decent tennis partner since her best friend graduated last year. There was no tennis team at the school, there were very few people who actually played, let alone played competively.

Kevin looked at Natsuko with a smile that widened as she explained the same exhilerating experience he goes through in a game. Or any competition. "It's true," he replied. He was then startled with question that seemed kind of random but at the same time just at the perfect opportunity. "Yes I do," he said tilting his head to the side, "I didn't think anyone else at this school played."

"There aren't many and even fewer who would even think of playing competively, we should have a match sometime it would be fun and interesting," She said curling her legs underneath her again, "I used to play with a friend of mine who graduated last year, best way for us to pass the time on the weekends." She laughed again, thinking of playing a game with him. She bet he was competitive even with women, she wasn't even sure she could return a serve, but she would definetly try
