Knocking softly on the door with one free hand, he balances the plates carefully, one on his arm, the other in his hand.

"Nami-san, I finished making the supper, would you like it now or should I keep it warm for you?" He speaks loud enough to be heard through the door but tries not to sound too imposing. She seemed kind of upset when she'd left.

(Hey I've gotta be boastful over *something*... xd )

Offering her his warmest smile, he tries to put the poor mood to rest since her cautiousness around him unsettled him slightly. They'd gotten on well enough last time...at least he thought.

"I'll bring it in then, just look out, the plates are still pretty warm and I wouldn't want to scald you." He says as an excuse to step sideways into her room He would have to play this one very carefully if he didn't want to wreck her impression of him. Setting the plates onto a low table, he brushes his sleeves off and turns to look at her again.

"I apollogize for that shitty Swordsman's behavour...you shouldn't have to deal with his idiocy. I just wish there was something I could do to ease your trouble." He steps towards her cautiously before adding, "Is there anything I can do? Name it and I'll accomplish it or die trying."

Pausing after putting the trays down, he looks at her. He'd wondered what he'd say if she ever asked him this question, but he never actually thought it'd come. After a moment or two, he scratches the back of his head thoughtfully before laughing a little.

"Well your happiness would be a start. I don't like to see you upset...." He was being evasive. He wouldn't say what he really wanted. It is too forward and though his first impulse is to blurt it out, he can't bring himself to possibly distance her from him. He finds a bit of wall to lean against and crosses his arms lazily, trying to seem all at-ease despite a hurried need to try and avert her attention. He'd play this cool and it would pass, just like any other time things became so serious.

Feeling no way out, he sighs a little and shrugs. "Ok...if I have to concede a little...a date would be nice." He grins in spite of himself and wonders just what his admission will get him. It was the first time he'd sincerely mentioned anything he'd wanted out of her. It feels weird to put it out there like that.

She might, but then, what would be the fun in that? Nami was much harder to catch, and truthfully he liked her from the moment the'd met. Laughing a little at this own sense of wrecklessness, he decides it's do or die. Moving to her, he tries his hardest to sound sincerely confident and takes her hands in his.

"No, I'd much rather have you...you asked what I wanted, didn't you?" Grinning, he teases her a little, "Or is it impossible for a guy like me? Am I wishing too hard?"
