Ember looked uncomfortable about sharing her past. It had been such a dear memory to her heart, and she, albeit it was selfish, wanted to keep it herself. She looked at the ground, where the toe of her sneaker was drawing circles.
"Well... it was a long time ago. It was still during the ages of Medieval times. I was a princess in the Castle of Aithinine. Aero was an assassin who was supposed to kill me," she told him as she dragged her finger along the rim of the glass on the counter. "I had managed to escape. Kiva, one of the helpers, kidnapped me. They were bringing me to this old witch who knew of the future."
She sighed. "Well, Aero still wanted to kill me, but Kiva had convinced him otherwise. I ended up making my way out of their grasp and into my mother's. She was planning on destroying the whole world, ya know. I had never even had the slightest clue of it. But I had made it out of there with my life. She needed me to complete a ritual to unleash a demon from the underworld..." She trailed off, reminiscing on the past. She tapped her chin as she thought of what to say next.
Noticing the notepad in Sparky's hand, she suddenly growled. "Hey, wait a minute! Is this an interrogation or something?"

"No, it's just a habit!" Spark panicked. "I like writing down stuff about the past! I have a lot of info... but anyway...I promise this stuff will never be disclosed to any other person BY ME. Go on..." he urged.
Kinda funny story...well at least the world is still intact...

Ember silenced her growl, but scowled at him. "Whatever. Anyways," she continued, placing her chin on her hands, "the witch told us we needed a certain type of crystal - jewel, whatever - to seal away the demon. But ya know what? My mother somehow already knew and had it. So we needed to find the pieces of the talisman that held the jewel in it."
She drew in a breath. "The Wings of Kasai, the Case of Mizu, the Shell of Tsuchi, and the outer lining which was like, the Ring of Kaze. And ya know what, because Aero betrayed us, my stepmother ended up with the things. We thought he was on our side, but he wasn't, the little weasel. And without him on our side, we didn't stand too much of change against my mother, or him. I was captured and the ritual was completed."
Ember glared at her glass like it was Aero's face. "And do you know who that demon was?" She leaned in, like if there was a sense of foreboding. "Aero's half-brother, Ryuu."

"Aero...has...A BROTHER?!" Sparky stuttered, dropping his pencil. He bent over to pick it up, and smashed his head against the side of the counter. But he ignored the gash on his forehead and picked up the book again.
"Then what happened?" He was eager to hear as much of this story as possible.

Unfortunately for him, she stared at the gash for a full five minutes before leaning over and healing it. She retracted her hand and frowned at her work. There was still a scar, or a mark, that showed it was there. She glared at her fingers as if they were at fault. "Damn..." she muttered. "At least I have some of my powers..."
But in a louder note, she nodded. "Ya, he has a brother. Ryuu was his name. He was this god-like demon. He was... centuries old. He spent about ninety-nine percent of his life honing his skills," she told him, waving her hand. She didn't want to speak of his name again. She was afraid he would suddenly appear like Beetle Juice. "He destroyed pretty much the world. We had to dodge him like the plague."
She sighed brokenly. "Since I had been used in that ritual thing, I was useless. In order for Ryuu to be alive - he had been in the underworld - he needed a soul. And unfortunately for me, it was my soul," she explained, waving a hand. Under her breath, she muttered, "At least without my soul I didn't have to feel the devastating pain of Aero betraying me..."
"But, anyways, Aero I guess felt guilty. I thought we were friends ya know? But he stole the crystal that contained my soul and made it back to us. I had my soul back and he was forgiven for betraying us in the first place. But, unfortunately, Ryuu had torn and sucked up too many of the demons and humans' souls around the world to still live."
Ember rolled her head back, looking blankly at the light fixtures on the ceiling again. "But we sought help from the witch from before and she advised us to go to the Shrine of Aura Sychronization. It was a sacred place that allowed only the purest of souls a wish," she told him, taking a swig of her drink. Her mouth felt dry from talking. "Apparently I'm one of the purest souls in the world - although no one had any idea how (Aero said it was impossible and I gave him a scar for his effort) - and I made the wish for Ryuu to be gone."
Ember sighed. "Apparently nothing's that simple."

"Yeah, yeah, go on!" Sparky urged. "This is one of the most exciting stories I've ever heard!" He scribbled down in his notebook.

Ember sweatdropped. "I guess you don't get out much?" she asked him, taking a swig from her drink. There was a quiet creak, too quiet for any of them to hear it, somewhere underneath her. It was probably from her foot pressing against the ground slightly.

"Please...don't make fun of me...your story..." Sparky gave up and continued to write stuff down in his notebook.
"So right now you were trying to make a wish to destroy Ryuu. What next?"

Ember waved her hands wildly. "No no no! I didn't mean to... that came out wrong -! I mean..." Ember gave up trying to fix the problem and found the easiest way. "Sorry."
Ember hung her head. "Anyways, it turns out in order for the wish to be granted, we needed to release a seal on this powerful being. That way it could grant us special power to finally vanquish Ryuu. And do you know what happened next?"
She couldn't help her mouth twisting into a sad frown and her eyes starting to water. "It turns out Aero was keeping a secret from us," she told him, wiping at her eyes furiously. "He was the one with the seal. We had to break the seal on him him in order to release the being. It basically meant we had to kill him."

"!" Sparky was now really anxious. "So since he's still alive, Ryuu must still be out there!" he assumed.

Ember nodded, but then shook her head. "No," she said, dragging a finger around on the rim of her glass again. "Not exactly. Well... I mean, I don't know how to explain it. I don't exactly remember what happened. All I remember was that some said I was the only one who could release the seal."
She looked away. "I didn't. I couldn't. I just... I just didn't have the heart, okay?" she suddenly said. She didn't mean to take it out on him, but it felt good to finally get it off her mind. To tell someone. She tried to work around the lump in her throat. "But ya know what happened? Aero tricked me. I s'pose it wouldn't be calling it a trick, but he somehow managed to make me release the seal on him."
"But, if something didn't happen, he wouldn't be here right? It was really dramatic. Maybe even devastating. But I kissed him. It was an accident really," she told him. "I was running towards him and I tripped. I dunno, but I doubt the kiss did anything. But he died. He really did."
She blinked through her tears. "I - I - I checked his pulse and e - everything," she told him, panicking. It was starting to get difficult to talk around the lump in her throat.

'I think I know part of this story..." Sparky said.
"Aero died, and he went to heaven. But for some reason, he was rejected by god, and he became a fallen angel, right?"

Ember narrowed her eyes slightly. "Did you get that from him?" she asked Sparky, before taking what was left of her drink. "Because that's not what happened. The part where he became a fallen angel was a long time ago. Before he even met his other love."
She sighed. "Naw, that's not what happened. Have you heard of a cure called the Angel's Tear? Well, to say the least, I got his jacket really messy with all of my crying. A few of my tears landed on his face I guess, and BAM - he's alive and kicking once more," she explained. "So we went off to save the world pretty much."
Ember twirled in her chair. "Oh ya. So we went to fight him and all that good stuff." When she came around, she slammed her hands on the counter softly. "But! We never really defeated him. We couldn't. He was too powerful, even with the whole powerful being thing from Aero. He was left as a spirit thing. So we sealed him up and that's pretty much the end."
Ember sighed. "I don't even know where he was sealed either. If I did, I would've went after him or something. But I think that's the reason why," she explained. She could imagine herself racing towards the seal with a chainsaw or the like in her hand. "But, I messed up with Aero and I left him, along with my friends. I don't remember the last time I saw all of them."
There was another creak, but she didn't pay any attention to it. "And that's the end of my tale," she said. Suddenly her stool broke underneath her and she went crashing against the ground. "Oww!!"

"ARE YOU OKAY!?" Sparky asked, helping her up. "As I was saying..." he continued once she was situated. "I've been told that Aero was murdered. Kinda weird. And something about him being a human once...and me being there in a past life of mine... I really don't know..." Sparky frowned. "Maybe I should ask him myself."
"AERO!" Sparky yelled, busting down the door. "He's..."
"NOT HERE?"

Ember shook her head softly, her bangs shifting with the movement. "No it's okay," she told him. She rubbed her backside angrily. "That wasn't quite the ending I was expecting."
Her ears twitched as she heard Sparky clamber over to the door where Aero was supposed to be in. She glanced back to her arms where she scraped them a little, where her eyes widened in surprise. The marks from her seal wear crawling over her arms and body in the shape of feather wings of an angel or demon.
She gasped so loud it was a wonder that everyone was still sleeping. She reached over the counter and grabbed a discarded blanket (let's just say there're some back there) and wrapped it around herself desparately. She tucked it around her and over her head tightly. She resembled an Eskimo of sorts.
"Uhm... Aero's not here? Is that bad?" she asked carefully.
