Most people nowadays dont like people who are individuals and think for themselves.

I wore a bunch of black eye liner under my eyes [was being Danzig from Misfits for this music assignment] and people called me a girl, gay, messed up, and make up is for girls. All I said was Go ******** yourself.

this is hardly political
because you wear eyeliner dosent make you a girl or gay it says that you are insecure with yourself nd you must conform into what the general public beleives as punk and thats just sad if you say i wear leathers and i rock a mohawk or liberty spikes thats fine but you are deffinatly not unique and you definaty are a conformist
((yes i love the word conformist/nonconformist because it is the only word in the english language that no one understands))

absolutly and conforming isnt bad but dont say you are an anarchist or a nonconformist if you do dress "like a punk" because you are conforming to the ways of the 80's just because others have moved on dosent mean you cant still conform to it and i hope no one thinks that i am against any of this i think if you express your self as a "goth" go ahead and wear makeup but get it strait that you are conforming to that stariotypethat has been made for goths. im an anarchist and i wear the clothes that are comterable alot of what i wear is considered "gangstar" in america but in ireland it what ravers wear i still dont go for style points i wear what is good for dancing in and is comfterable to me. i had a mohawk for a little bit but it wasnt a "punk" mohawk and i have a tattoo but i dont go flashing it around either ((then again its on a private area)) and i keep my mind open dont bash me for my opinion just post yours if i agree ill tell you if i disagree ill tell you why

just because you wear make-up or mohawks or have tattoos doesn't mean you're conforming. all of that has nothing to do with punk. being a punk isn't that difficult. all you have to do is be a true fan of the music. it is, after all, just a music genre.

yea but if you dress like a punk to the point that some one can see you and say ""wow he must like punk""
you are conforming to the standards of punk culture
and if people "are" what they listen to (people that listen to punk are punks and so on) then i am everthing and not only that anyone who only likes one type of music is not a freind of mine and anyone who isnt a freind of mine i pretend they dont exist

you aren't exactly what you listen to; it's more that you "are" what subculture you are most active in via music. like if you're way more into punk then any other kind of music then you're a punk and such
PostPosted: Fri Aug 05, 2005 2:27 pm
