Nordia shifted uneasily on her feet as she studied the ancient looking building. Would she be able to do justice to the aura of power eminating from this place? Would she be able to do justice to the aura eminating from the entire village? Who knew, but she could sure as Hell try. Her cloak billowed around her as she hopped up the stairs, then falling to her knees suddenly in prayer.

She asked for her hand to be guided by the spirits and that she would know how exactly she could please them by her painting. Her scarred hands stuck out from her cloak and above her head as she kept her eyes shut tightly.

Five minutes later she got up and dusted her self off as she stepped back down off the steps and lay down two large scrolls for her two styles. Traditional and realistic. She'll be drawing all night and heading home in a day or so. She took a smaller one out and unrolled it to act as a pallet for her mixings and matchings of paint. As she began to squeeze out the organges, the reds, the blues, and the browns she mentally plotted out her course. First she would do the landscape, using darker colors to make the actual shrine pop out.

Nordia got out a bottle of water and a cup. She poured the water into the cup and dipped her soft bristled brush in it. A delighted smile came to her lips as she pressed it onto the paper and felt her hand flowing across it as she recreated the scene.

Twenty-two hours.

For 22 hours her brushed flew up, down, and across her papers. The entire roll of mixing paper was spread across the floor in front of the Shrine and everything from mustard yellow to dead lips purple. A cold sweat had broken out for not going with sleep for over a day. She wiped her head with her bare wrist, having taken off her cloak and wearing a tube top, much to her displeasure. But at least she had a pair of cargo pants packed.

Her headband was on her upper theigh, not feeling happy with it off. She wiped her forehead again and looked down to her bright pink tube top. Why Ryu had it in his dresser was questionable, but it was rather... fun to wear it. You never know when you'll need to get naked quickly, a very good attribute to have in some situations.

A final stroke of her hard bristled brush she threw it down and the handle broke into two pieces. A depressed whimper escaped her lips as she picked it back up and got a large splinter. "Damn this infernal, cheaply made piece of rodent droppings!" she yelled, a moment later cursing at herself for screaming in a place of prayer.

Nordia gasped in pain as she pulled the splinter from her finger, taking a large chunk of tissue with it. "Damned wood..." she moaned as she picked up the pieces and placed them in her pack along with her cup and bottle of water.

She looked down to her paintings and smiled broadly. This was some of her best work and the first thing she would do was show her brother that even with her calloused hands she could do wonderous art.

With tired hands she rolled the art up into their original scrolls and placed them carefully in her pack. Nordia was tired, but she felt as if she had over stayed her welcome somehow and was anxious to get back to her home.

With a slow pace she walked up to the shine and kneeled once more for a short prayer of thanksgiving. She rose and put on her cloak with a snap and turned to walk away, but hesitated as she lifted her foot for the first step.

"I will return to you, o' great Village of the Storm... maybe then I'll be able to actually see your inhabitants..." Nordia's vocie was but a whisper, but it carried through the calm of the forested area.

She took a long strided step and smiled grimly to herself. "Until then.. ado, my friend. May our paths cross soon, and keep the looters away for I think your Kage may spill more blood than needed if this peace was disturbed." She spoked to the Shrine itself as she walked away, beginning another bout of her talking to inanimate objects.

At least they talk back, so she's not lonely.

From a large old tree, the shadow benith it he seemed to spawn out of like a bat out of hell, his steps forward each one materializing him further. His black reptilian mask set firmly upon his face a short glance, a new person leaving this place of prayer, whom was this that disturbed the peace here? She was certainly not one of this village, a coldness would be felt as their bodies moved by one another but of course not enough to phase. Hageshii simply continued upon his way toward the shrine to watch it, and still wonder what made humanity cling so desperately to its belifs. Perhaps the fact that their belif could give them incredible strength to endure the most painful of hardships was good enough for now.

"Be this a place of power? Or a place of a dead religion, something that will bring no one anything..."

He could not tell which it was, but what he could say is that many of the village came here to pay their respects and pray for good fortune in whatever they did. From shinobi to farmer, it didn't matter, it was all the same to them, they wanted to have the good fortune or simply wanted to pay due respect. He would never understand this, thus why he strove so much to find the meaning behind what humanity did with such a religious site. Did they use it merely for personal gain? Or was there something deeper behind it, something that Hageshii would never be able to penitrate due to his lack there of, emotion. Maybe some day when he was free from his bonds, he would be able to feel, and then at that moment he would know why people come.

"We go to war with the Arashikage's father...And all those whom follow him so faithfully, but do we go with fate on our side? Do we go with this faith if it is indeed faith?"

Hageshii had a habbit of asking himself the oddest quistions, especially when he was near this shrine, it was something he could not explain nor touch therefore it facinated him greatly. It made him wonder about certain things and thus he got him thinking about anything and everything he came across. Like for expample, now he was brooding upon that girl whom had been here, what had her purpose been to be here in this village and most of all at their shrine? What would have caused some random person to decide to come up here, and find out what this place was, and if she knew they why come up here?

Michio strode quietly through the wooded borders of the shrine, hearing a kind of murmuring coming from the shrine itself. A shinobi of the village must have been there for one purppose or another. Michio himself had only been there a few times before, the first time to simply bind himself to the Storm Village and pay homage to the Kage, the second time, accompanied by the Kage herself and faced with the god himself and charged with the task of assassinating the Arashikage's father.

Michio came into the clearing and approached the steps of the shrine in utter silence, his face again concealed behind the facade of yet another mask, an opal shaped white mask with to narrow slits for sight and what seemed to be a slash mark of claws from the top corner of the mask to the bottom corner. As he approached, Michio recognized the man, Hageshii, another of the Elite in the Village. He'd never actually been around him for more than a few moments, though that could be said for just about every shinobi in the village.

Approaching quietly, Michio came to stand beside Hageshii, looking straight forward toward the shrine, his features and eyes hidden by the mask entirely.

The presence of another did not startle Hageshii, he knew the storm was not here in their village, it was yet to come in the following days. His all-around vision spotted Michio out of the corner of his mask's eye slits, he wondered what had caused the other man to arrive here as well. Thoughts that merely dissolved to nothing, he was unable to think properly when all he could feel was something eating at the back of his mind, like a parasite. He could not forget the nightmarish visions he had been shown when suddenly he had found himself capable of fear and sadness once again.

"Do you believe, that she can kill him?"

He asked Michio, without actually looking at him directly, he still faced forward looking toward the shrine still wondering what made it such a special place. All he knew of it is that people payed homage to it, and when a sacrifice was made to it, the nature spirit would come from the beckons. He could not, and probably would never, know the reasons for such things for it required the ability to feel like any other normal person, to have the ability to realize faith. So there stood Hageshii in a place where he was most alone, the most alone he could ever be, since faith could never touch him. Thus was the reason why he always came to this place before a mission, to try to understand what faith did for people, he could never answer this question.

"Michio...You will not stop me if she dies, understand?"

Those cold words left his body like a ice storm, it was not a request, as usual from Hageshii it was a promise of what would be put into place should his Kage die. He did not doubt her ability, but at the same time he did not doubt the ability of her father whom was older and maybe even more powerful. He would not allow the chance to be taken that should she die, that her father would live on, for he would surely return to the Storm and regain control for himself. This was something that Hageshii could not allow to happen, if he had to he would anhillated anyone and everyone that would be on that battlefield to destroy him.

Michio stood, still facing the shrine. The rhetorical questions this man posed were just that, and thus, Michio gave no responses. His arms crossed at his chest, he faced the altar on which a statue stood. The details runnin over the metal statue were quite precise, a strange kind of idol for those that worshipped here. In Michio's opinion, faith in anything or anyone other than oneself was foolhardy.

"Don't you worry your pretty little head over it. The mission will have no complications. Nayami will lay her father to rest and that will be that." This, certainly, was the most Michio had said in quite a while. His voice rang within the mask, cold and precise. There seemed to be no feeling whatsoever in the words, lacking the kind of animosity that seethed from the other side of the conversation.

There was no doubt in Michio's mind that the mission would be a test. All missions are thus, or they are not worth the time spent on them. But Michio also had no doubt in his mind of Nayami's abilities and his own capabilities. He was not overconfident and expected there to be plenty of obstacles, but his mind was still at ease.

With those words, Michio loosened a small senbon with a seal on it from a hidden notch, tossing it with two fingers. The needle landed on the altar, struck straight up and down with the small strip of parchment attached. It was little more than a note for the overseeing spirit of the shrine, the only mark on it a thumb print of Michio's blood that trailed off to the bottom. Michio turned and strode away again, silent as he'd entered. He set off from the shrine to seek out the Kage since the day of the mission was at hand.

Thus one of the many reasons Hageshii never thought to much of the male members of the village, Michio was all to sure of everything. Rei was just a child, the gambler was a p***k and a pervert, and that was about the sum of it all, Hageshii really was in the void actually. His words held no animosity, they held nothing but cold assurance that should Nayami die, he would kill everyone he had to and would not stop. He disliked Michio's blind faith in their cause, surely Nayami was indeed strong, however her father had many more years on her then she did. Hageshii may not have the same years, but something that was lurking inside him had more years then likely anyone whom was still alive at this time.

"I never liked you anyways..."

He spoke rather nonchalantly to no one in particular, his grave tone simply striking the air and dissapating as though nothing had been said, no words seemed to have left him. Why should he put his faith in anyone at all, he relied only upon himself to do what he had to, he was the true protector of Nayami, none of the other members of this village could challenge this. He was always at her side unless she sent him away on a mission or something of the sort, he was always there to protect her from threats, or pick her back up if she should fall. No one could ever find out the reason for this either, his blind loyalty was always a strange thing that he never talked about. It was merely something he was never going to share with anyone, not even Nayami knew why he was so very devoted to her in every way.

"So it begins, the beggining of the end...There is no turning back now is there, we must find out what it is we are supposed to do in this world..."

"Don't worry Hageshii-kun...I will make sure that no harm comes to you, I would never allow anyone to dare harm my host...Ku...Ku...Ku...

That voice inside of his head was none to reassuring, however if it was indeed Orochimaru within his body, then he would need Hageshii's body in order to survive. It would be logical for Orochimaru to keep him alive in order to survive himself, it would be unwise to allow one's host to die while one is still attached to that host. Thus Orochimaru and Hageshii seemed to be sharing more of a symbiotic relationship that benifitted both parties, Orochimaru had a body and could live on, Hageshii had a strong body, and a very old shinobi whom knew plenty of forgotten and forbidden jutsu.

Nayami didn’t want to waste any time with long greetings to her shinobi, she had already ordered them to get ready and if they weren’t, frankly, it was their own loss. She had already greeted and left an offering for the spirit, a rather large offering hoping to secure her win against her father. Nayami wasn’t really one to depend on other people but if Ametsuchi was in her favor, she knew she’d have a bit of an upper hand.
Sensing Hageshii’s strong presence the Arashikage made her way once again over to the shrine, the pads of her shoes soon coming in contact with the soft moist grass of the shrine area.
Nayami cocked her head gently to one side as her vivid pools fell upon Hageshii; it seems he was once again lost in thought. She had seen him many times taking refuge here to clear his thoughts or to just have some alone time. The Kage didn’t really care, it’s not like he was breaking any rules by not sacrificing, it was up to him whether he wanted to or not.

“I don’t mean to barge in on you like this, but, I’m leaving, so get everything you need and meet me by the edge of the forest on the very eastern side of the mountain. I know I don’t have to baby sit you guys, so just come when you’re ready. I won’t wait very long and if I have to go by myself, so be it.”

With this one simple appearance and statement Nayami gave Hageshii a nod before she left the shrine area, her patience finally wearing thin as she continued to go and ready the rest of her shinobi.

Leina quietly and tiredly walked into the Shrine's area, not caring about the rumble that was heard from above. She was tired, and if it did rain, which she was sure about, she wouldn’t care for she loved the rain. Walking up to the altar she sighed a little happily being back. Saying a quick prayer and leaving her blood sacrifice on a rice ball she bought, she walked down from the altar and sat under the usual tree she liked sitting under.

Closing her eyes she began breathing normally. She knew it was absurd to use this technique, but she needed too. She felt way too weak without her chakra and she didn’t mind becoming a little bit weak in strength and a bit in the mind, though she wished she could get rid of that part. Lightly a purple aura was surrounding her lightly and then it became blue. She was in tune with her spirit. With her eyes closed she began doing hand seals and eventually she finished. "Shinkouteki Seishou" she muttered lightly and quickly the blue aura surrounding her formed into a ball of fire and then burst into a figure.

Opening her eyes, she looked at herself. Her spirit right in front of her, and quickly the figure turned into a ball of fire once again quickly being absorbed inside her. Gasping for air once it was done, she felt her chakra was flourishing and also felt herself lose a bit of her balance as well as a headache appear. Quickly doing another set of hand seals and having the vile of Grotto water in front of her, she used it all letting it cover her completely much like the aura and let it absorb into her.

Sighing after feeling her weakened body and mind heal with the Grotto water, she leaned back into the tree. Feeling her eyes lightly falter with drowsiness, she soon fell asleep. If it began raining, she would be drenched and she wouldn’t even flinch, the rain would help her heal along with the Grotto water she had already absorbed.

Leina jerked up quickly as if a jolt of pain went through her body. "Hnnnn" she murmured quietly rubbing her head. "Stupid jutsu....I still have the headache....." she said and looked around muttering incoherent words.

Standing and almost falling back on the ground, she sighed. "I should have just gone to the Grotto" she muttered quietly and began walking out towards the village. Maybe a little food and something to drink would calm her nerves and maybe her headache. Or she could just take the herbs she had in her bag she still had with her.

She sighed again as she took out the herbs that helped relieve headaches. "The jutsu maybe lose some of my common sense....." she muttered, and her eyes grew lightly wide at the thought of forgetting everything else if she used the jutsu even more. 'Weakening of strength and mind....Use it only if you dare....' that thought quickly went through her mind. Her mother told her that years ago. "Keep it in mind...." was all she said leaving the shrine.

Korosu deliberatly took a wrong turn, he headed back toward the shrine silently, it was a place that he had wanted to see while he was around. He was enjoying this very much, however he had a purpose, there was something here that he needed to awaken he squeezed the wound on his palm. Blood dripped down his palm and onto the blocks that he stood upon in front of the shrine's alter, he drew a circle and then a triangle in the middle. The symbol of the death god, it made a noise, he suddenly removed a long black rod from his wound and then thrusted it into his chest. Korosu spat up blood and then slowly, he died, his body turned black and white, making him look skeletal, he had not been able to make a sacrifice in a long time.

I'm sorry my lord for not getting you a sacrifice sooner...

He spoke inwardly, there was of course no answer, the God of Death never answered unless he had something incredibly important to say to his devoted follower. However the sacrifice was accepted and Korosu was ressurected, his body returned to normal and he removed the black rod from his chest. He slowly stood from his black and then removed from the bushes nearby, a chain with a medallion, it was his necklace that was the crest of his death god. He had left it here before he had gotten caught by the Anbu squad that had finally found the person that had been killing off multipule villagers. He stood, now he began to remove his prison clothing, stripping himself naked he found his clothing that he had also stashed and re-clothed himself in his garbs.

Finally...To be out of those disgusting rags!

Leina walked into the Shrine as a very fast pace, her eyes still with unshed tears she quickly wiped them away. Breathing in and out to calm herself, Leina walked over to the tree she always sat under and sighed angrily. She still couldnt believe that Rei had called her a stupid wolf. That was really a stab to her heart right there.

Quietly she removed her pack from her shoulder and placed it in front of where she sat. Taking out a case, she opened it and there were three pieces of a flute. Grabbing the mouth piece and the center piece she connected them and then grabbed the third one putting it on as well and she soon adjusted the flute and checked its keys to see if they were working since she hadnt played in the longest time since she came to the village.

Placing the mouth piece to her lip, she quickly played the B-scale forward and backwards and skipped every other note. Letting her hands drop with the flute on them she sighed and shook her head and began to play music. This typical one was low in tune and it expressed how she felt at the moment, and Kyoryoku inside her mind, listened quietly knowing that what she thinks just ended, is actually the beginning of something else.

Leina stopped playing the flute a while ago, she had put it away and was up in the tree leaning on it with her arms crossed and her eyes closed. One would think she was sleeping, but she was actually speaking with her younger sister as well as Kyoryoku who barged into their conversation at times.

'He said what?! 'He called your sister a stupid wolf..Can you believe that?' Kyo answered Kikiana's question intended for Leina. Leina just stayed quiet listening to both Kyo and Kikiana. She wasn't thrilled that they were talking about her like she wasnt there 'Ohh!! Why didnt you do anything to him Lei? I would have thought you would have kicked him or punched him or slapped him or probably make blood spill......Also, Rei didnt seem to be the kind who would call people names, he sounded really nice from what you spoke of him...'

Leina opened her eyes and blinked several times. 'Why do you think I would do that Kikiana....Im not violent.....And never judge a book by its cover' Leina thought quietly. 'Not violent!?! For goodness sake Lei....You killled your own father with his katana!!! Leina gasped and furrowed her eyebrows. 'I had to do it! He almost sold me off for my blood. What else was I suppose to do? I was even asked to kill him by out Kage....I had to abide even if I was nine..... Leina defended herself and became angry. 'Sheesh....Im sorry....I got to go...Mom's coming..... Kikiana's mind left the conversations. 'What next Leina-sama.....Home?' Kyoryoku asked quietly and Leina nodded jumping down the tree and grabbing her stuff and walking out of the Shrine to go home.

As Nayami ran she began to feel something that hadn’t graced her pale cheeks in awhile, the warm flow of tears flooding down her face as she continued to disappear deeper within the forest. She had cried before, but these tears were different, they were not out of her usual frustration, she was crying out of fear. She tried to stop, she tried to force her body to shut down, block out everything but nothing happened. Her legs finally gave out as she collapsed onto the ground, her knees hitting the rough dirt hard as her palms soon followed suite. She dropped her head down towards the ground, her long raven hair falling down over her face as she continued to cry, long hard sobs, her quivering voice ringing through the air.

“No…no go away…” The Arashikage begged herself, her head soon drumming with a pounding headache as old memories rushed into her thoughts.

It hadn't taken Hachibi long to arrive at the downed Nayami. Without a word he took a seat beside her, bright yellow eyes peered over her, assessing her for a few moments before he moved in front of her. Reaching out, one of his slender fingers was placed underneath her chin, pushing up so he could tilt her face up to look at him.

"My, my. It'ssss been a while, ne?" Hachibi's voice sounded throughout the forest area, birds flying away at the sheer sound. His eyes flicked over her face, tracing the tears on her face. That was odd, he had never seen her cry, well...except that one time on that day."My dear Nayami, why are you crying? Ssssuch tearsss ssshould never ssstain sssuch a beautiful face."
