evilbrainbabies I'm quite upset at the moment. I have been hearing more and more older punk music on MTV lately. Which includes c**k Sparrer, Circle Jerks and even Bad Religion to my shock. Why and who gave MTV rights to use those songs? I figured Bad Religion was one of those bands that wasn't much for that kind of stuff. I think Bad Religion is the type that doesn't care who plays their stuff. The lead singer owns Epitaph records right? And Epitaph records took on Matchbook Romance. Enuff said.

Glass Winter evilbrainbabies I'm quite upset at the moment. I have been hearing more and more older punk music on MTV lately. Which includes c**k Sparrer, Circle Jerks and even Bad Religion to my shock. Why and who gave MTV rights to use those songs? I figured Bad Religion was one of those bands that wasn't much for that kind of stuff. I think Bad Religion is the type that doesn't care who plays their stuff. The lead singer owns Epitaph records right? And Epitaph records took on Matchbook Romance. Enuff said. Hmmm, well that aside, I still like Epitaph Records, they've got the Weakerthans smile And they're also the label of Converge, The Weakerthans (well, I like them anyways) and Sage Francis... and they were they did host Hot Water Music (which is now The Draft), The Descendants (if you're into them), NOFX (if you're into them), Agnostic Front (if you're into them) and Rancid (dido).

BassFu I'm surprised you didn't mention Refused. Am I the only person here who winces while listening to Psycobilly? If by Psyhcobilly you mean the Cramps... no you're not. CC, The Weakerthans are pretty good... but I get the feeling that a few of their members are well, gay. Not that its a bad thing but if I'm right, it sure explains why they don't have that big a fan girl following.

CC, The Weakerthans are pretty good... but I get the feeling that a few of their members are well, gay. Not that its a bad thing but if I'm right, it sure explains why they don't have that big a fan girl following. By Psychobilly I mean idiots who are stuck in the 50's with flat top hair cuts and double basses.

But I didn't know he was the original maker behind it. And as CC said, they have good and they have bad. Take Bad Religion's new album for instance. Guess which catagory that was in. heh. Album was pretty lame in my opinion. But all the same, you have other bands as well. Wasn't the Offspring originally on Epitaph? Or were they always on Columbia?

They sing one song about a gay antarctic explorer and that makes them gay???? Yeah I did forget refused for some reason... As for Bad Religion, well, it was obvious that they were heading down the more melodic path, so you would kind of expect that...

BassFu Since we're on the topic of record labels it seems that Thursday has gone back to Victory to release their upcoming DVD/CD. Probably for the best. Victory Record bands all sound the same to me.

Thank you for saying that. Most of the people at school who want to talk about Victory records say that they are all distinctive sounding bands without the same generic lyrics, whereas I obviously disagree. But that is just my veiw on Victory. Some times there is different things though that do come out of Victory.. I just don't know about it. haha.

oh, more favorite bands: Suicide machine, operation Ivy, Basically all ska/punk, dead Kennedys, the Ramones, anti-flag, and the casualties there are a lot more im just to lazy to list them.
