********! I had to get the first Old Boy DVD that came out, right? The "final edition" (I'm guessing it's going out of print for a while) contains:

Special audio commentaries by the movie's director & cinematographer as well as Choi Min Sik, Yoo Ji-tae and Kang Hae Jung.
Making of Documentary part 2
Flashback
Production
All that Background
Production Design
Computer Graphics
Original Sound Track
I want to tell you my story
Director: Park Chan-wook
Original author of the comic: Tsuchiya Garo
Choi Min Sik
Yoo Ji-tae
Kang Hae Jung
Le Grand Prix de Cannes
Deleted & Alternate Scenes
plus more

I hate it when they do that, but I'd like to see footage from Cannes when they won the award! Plus it comes with the soundtrack. I want to hear that accelerated version of Winter that they played.

Mine came with the soundtrack, too. But what I want is the interviews, the special effects thing, the background and the deleted scenes. I saw this edition in the store, and I gotta say it looked pretty gross and cheap for a "Final Edition". I guess mine at least looks nicer.

If you guys are having trouble finding Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, try Aznfilms.com. That's where I got mine, and they have incredibly fast shipping. At first I didn't like this movie as much as Oldboy, because it wasn't as stylish. But after watching it a second time the ending hit me hard, now I'd say it's just as good as Oldboy.
Here's a link to the Chanwook Park board on IMDb.com :http://imdb.com/name/nm0661791/board/nest/10837674. Has some good info on The Kind Mrs. Geomja.

How could you say it's not as stylish? I'd say it IS stylish and moreso than Oldboy. For a dark story, there was lots of vibrant color, especially from the protagonists (the guy with the green hair, his girl's clothes), plus the addition of some comedic elements (if you count the man with the contorted walk who just materialized out of thin air).

If you want to discuss more of the technical stylings, the cinematography was clean and direction was similar to Oldboy. I could watch Sympathy, and without prior knowledge, wonder if the film was helmed by the same director of Oldboy.

I can't believe that's funny to you. I had trouble sleeping! Uuugh, he was real grabby, too.

It's just funny how you see green hair burying his sister and then out of nowhere this guy comes out and harasses him. It was such a bizarre scene.

Sympathy just didn't seem as stylish to me the FIRST time I watched it, mainly due to the lack of music compared to Oldboy. After I saw it the second time, though, I would completely agree with you, xmcatx.

Here is a great site for info on Sympathy for Mrs. Vengeance, including four official movie poster candidates. Looks like the films shaping up nicely. Enjoy! http://www.filmacco.com/films/lady_veng.php

Omg, that's a great link! Thanks so much for that, I love the posters and WOW take a look at those cameos! Bae Duna, I love her. And Song Gang-Ho! Do you think it'll live up to the hype?

I sure hope it lives up to its hype, but then again, I've never seen a bad Chanwook Park film, so it has to be good! I haven't anticipated a movie this much in quite some time. And those cameos are gonna be awesome! I'm the most excited about Minsik Choi playing the male lead, or whatever it is he's playing. He's got to be my favorite actor at the moment.

Did anyone see Park's short film, Simpan, that was included on the Ultimate Edition of Oldboy (if you were lucky enough to get ahold of it)? I was wondering what its about and if it's any good.

I don't have Simpan on my DVD, I just checked. I feel like I've seen some of it, though, and I can't for the life of me figure out how. I remember that it wasn't subtitled, it looked a bit unproffesional, and was very talky. In the beginning, it was two men sitting accross from each other at a table in a dark room. Then, something about somebody's wife... hmm... I wounder how I would've seen this. Maybe I'm thinking about something else? But in my mind, it totally seems like a Park Chan-Wook, and I remember thinking at the time that it agrees with the style of whatever else this person had done.
