I am the Drunken Chef.
I am 25 and I won't be having wine tonight.

and then keep them coming till closing time."
I have been cooking professionally for about ten years now.
Food and alcohol are my passions in life.
That and having a good time of course.
Forever the drunken host that never lets you go home hungry.
I am recently single, as I have loved and lost again.
Ladies beware I have a heart to fear
for I can love no other as much as I love to drink.
I am a chain smoker and an insomniac.
Still a kid at heart and hellion behind the wheel of my jeep.
However I am a phenomenal cook.
So one day when I grow up I may break out the restaurant business
and break in to the personal catering business
because I'm about having a party with some friends and some family.

hello everyone. i'm from portugal, (in europe if you don't know) which has a really long story in cooking and i love my mum's cooking )obviously), because she cooks typically portuguese and does it well.
aside from that, i don't cook pretty well, but with the help of this guild maybe i'll start cooking something nice.
as far as the questions go, i've been in gaia for about a year. i did take a big break because of university and personal stuff, but am now being active again.
i've been interested in cooking ever since i remember but never tried really hard to learn anything because i don't have patience and when everything turns wrong (which happens frequently) i lose hope.
my favourite tv shows don't include cooking, but i have watched some cooking shows, such as one which is really famous in the uk which is called something like two fat ladies and one in portugal, with a cook and he does some interesting dishes. aside from those my fav tv shows are really house md, sex and the city, csi las vegas and desperate housewives.
no, i won't use my cooking skills for professional reasons, but i will use them for my own well-being, since i now live away from mum and miss her cooking, so i'll try to become a better cook, so i can start eating healthily or at least eat something else then eggs and chips.
i guess thats all and this is kinda becoming a long post, so cheers everyone

I've been on Gaia for a fairly long time. And I have taken long breaks in between. I tend to randomly disappear alot.
I never really was interested in cooking at first. My mom is an amazing cook, and her food is irrisitable. She always asked me to help her but I found it annoying and tiring. After I wandered into a cooking class in my highschool, Someone asked me if I new how too cook and if I could help them. I said sure. And from there everything changed. Since I'm very multitalented I made myself quite known throughout my school. And I'm known to be a very fast cook. So all the help with my mom payed off.
I usually watch On-Demand Anime, Anime Network, And Adult Swim.
I now work in my schools cooking class, helping out and overlooking others. I also have special access to things unavailible to the students in the class. I plan on running a Cafe with my mom. I'll be the manage, haha.

Hi everyone, I'm Anonymous..., and in real life my name is Alice. You may call me Alice if you wish.
I've been on gaia for one or two years now, I can't quite remember as this was not my first account.
Recently I've been coming on gaia a lot more than I used to, but that's not to say that I don't still disappear for weeks at a time sometimes!
I've always loved baking, and everyone I know has loved me for it xd
Recently I also got into cooking meals, and the first meal I ever cooked for my family on my own was a chicken and leek pie.
Some time soon I'm going to try making hummus 3nodding

since i was about 4 i used to watch my grandmother cook then my dad would teach me

cooking show .. would be cooking at home and everyday italian also good eats.. that more than others

unfortunatly no.. i just cook alo at home and try to learn a ton of new recipies

I attended culinary school for Pastry and Baking, so I'm a certified Pastry Chef (ooo. shiny) right now I work at a Safeway bakery.. >.> Not exactly the dream job.. but it's a start.

I'm a lifetime cook, though only 20 years old.
First year culinary student (which is frusterating) but I love learning new words like "mince" stare

You work somewhere to use your talents for cooking or food knowledge? I wish. I work at a Radio Shack, my culinary talents involve baked goods or a microwave there. Very appreciated though.

breaks? Well I registered this back in 05 and didn't really do much between 05 and 07.
How long have you been interested in Cooking? since about 1998 after I graduated high school.
TV shows? Iron Chef (original not american)

This Guild seems a bit slow, but I will certainly participate.

Breaks? Not really.
How long have you been interested in cooking? Since I can remember, probably elementary school.
TV show? Good Eats
Working somewhere? Used to work as a sous chef at various places, started cooking in 1997, stopped in 04 after my first son was born, I am a science teacher now, hopefully a food service teacher someday.

Hi, Everyone!
My name is Jessica and I'm really glad to finally be a part of this guild!!
How long have you been active on Gaia?
I joined Gaia about...oh, a little over a month ago, I think. A friend told me about it.
Take any big breaks between then?
No. It took me awhile to get involved, though. The friend that told me about it is a big RP fan, and for some reason, I just thought that that was the main reason for Gaia's existence. So, just recently, I started searching the Guilds and I found y'all! And I am so glad I did!
How long have you been interested in Cooking?
I have cooked and been in the kitchen for as long as I can remember. My mom used to always let me help her and watch her when she was cooking. When I went to college, I really came into my own and started getting into experimenting and having fun in the kitchen!
Any favorite TV shows (Cooking and non allowed)?
I LOVE Dinner: Impossible (I have a small crush on Robert...I think it's the accent!) and Paula Deen's shows (she's just all-around adorable). I also really love LOST, Heroes, Chuck, Grey's Anatomy, Ugly Betty, The Office...your typical "boob tube" stuff.
You work somewhere to use your talents for cooking or food knowledge?
This is actually a really interesting story - while I was in college, I worked for a caterer (more knowledge, right?) and when I moved to California, over the past year or so, I've become the Activities Director at the high school where I teach - I use all those things I learned all the time! On top of that, I've recently become the Special Events Coordinator at my church, which basically means I'm in charge of all events outside of regular services and making sure we have good food, etc. It's a really awesome ride!!
I just want to thank y'all again for letting me join this guild. I can't wait to find and share recipes and tips. I LOVE learning and trying new stuff in the kitchen!!

Yeah, that first break from 04-06.

I've always liked the concept of cooking, mixing ingredients and everything, but I'm more into baking than general cooking.
Any favorite TV shows (Cooking and non allowed)?
Top Chef isn't bad. Iron Chef is always good. A few random shows on the Food Network. Unrelated to cooking, Grey's Anatomy, Gilmore Girls, Reba... Yeah. I'm a southern girl.
You work somewhere to use your talents for cooking or food knowledge?
Among my options of what I want to do with my life, I've considered pastry chef. Maybe somewhere down the road opening my own bakery, but that's a huge "maybe." I've got a lot of things I'm considering.
