Tobi was a little hesitant to have to let her go, but he still had to struggle to get to his foot; eventually he followed behind her, and what he saw made his lip twist up into disgust, how could she let that -thing- touch her?

Kiress smiled warmly as he wrapped his arms around her, "Oh dearest Iris, I'm fine, just fine, even better now that I know you are well and safe."

Kiress paled a little as he looked up and saw the older man and his expression, he knew that expression well and it normally spelt some sort of mental anguish for him; but for Iris he would smile, "How do you do?"

Tobi rose a brow muttering under his breath, "That's you're adoptive brother?"

He hopped forward a little and nodded curtly to Kiress, "Fine. Won't you come in?"

Kiress pulled short and finally got a good look at Iris, his eyes darkened, "You -spent the night-? With a stranger you barely know?"

Tobi sneered, "Are you trying to start something? Freak." Tobi's stutter had dissapeared, he was standing defensively facing Kiress.

Tobi snorted, "Hardly, I mean look at it," he waved his hand in the general direction of Kiress, "That's not your brother.. it's a freak of nature."

Kiress spat, obviously having not heard a single word, "I resent that! At least I do not take advantage of women who are looking for shelter just to boost my ego!"

Tobi growled and a chair started to float in mid air, "You want to say that again?"

"Cradel Robber," Kiress replied, the fire behind Tobi started to form into a small ball.

Tobi did not hear, "Cradel Robber?! Listen here freak, you can take you're assuming a** out of my house, I DO NOT rape women you know, so get out."

Kiress stood up straighter and the fire settled back into place, "That is fine by me."

He turned and grabbed Iris' wrist, "We're leaving."

Tobi grabbed Iris' other wrist, "She's not going anywhere."

He winced lightly as he put full weight on his sprained ankle, "You don't control her life."

"Oh? And I suppose you do?" Kiress snapped right back, "I have her best interest in mind, you probably just wnat to keep her here so you can deflower her some more; b*****d."

It was then Tobi lunged for Kiress, Kiress managed to step out of the way, but he still got a fist in the stomach. As retaliation, Kiress caught Tobi's hsoulders and rammed his knee into the other's gut.

Kiress sat down in a furry of huffs and puffs completely dejected at what iris had set to him; Childish was it? Kiress had had suspisions when he'd walked in, but it was only becuase tall, dark and prejudice had gone off the deep end and started to call him out. After he'd settled him self down he place his hand on his check, it stung and he knew he was going to have a red mark; he deserved it at least a little. Maybe now she'd understand some of his pain...

Tobi on the other hand took his time about sitting, glaring darkly at the Pyromaster. He could not understand why its parents would allow such a abomination to live, they should have tossed its genderless being out the first time they set their eyes on its form. But was it was now into full adulthood with a gift to boot, Tobi's master had always taugh him to respect the elemental Masters; but how could he respect that which was not normal? So why was Iris standing up for it, maybe she didn't totaly under stand what it was, the thing had probably brainwashed her into think it was a he, Tobi would have to see her thoughts corrected so she too could see that that thing was not to be taken in as a family. And plus there really was no need for her to slap him, he was only trying to protect her...

And as they sat they began to make rude faces at each other, it wasn't until a little later after they'd sat for a while that Kiress tried to make up for the things he'd said, calling out in a low whisper he said, "I'm sorry I jumped to coclusions, I just went on the defensive becuase I knew how you were going to react to me."

Tobi sneered, "And how is that?"

"With hostility, I know I'm strange, but I'm still human."

Tobi rolled his eyes and ignored Kiress allowing his thoughts to take over.

Tobi shot another dark glar in Kiress' direction, but Kiress was glaring in the Kitchen's direction. FINE! he wanted to scream, but that would have been usless. Kiress pulled the fire to him and took to weaving intrique patters in the air, his face was the epitome of depression, there was no light in his eyes and his form was curled up into a ball, his arms hugging his knees tightly while the fire danced before his face.

Tobi had kept his eyes on the pyromaster, watching him, and when he saw the other he felt his heart give a little tug of sympathy, he had never seen such deep rooted depression, and somewhere he'd known that it was his fault. He tore his eyes away from the sprite's face and studied instead the fire. it was a glorious and wonderful sight, all that flame, some yellow, some orange, some white and a little blue all twisting it's way abotu each other.
