Hata no Kokoro The Expressive Poker Face ~ Current Mask: Monkey - Confusion/Awkwardness Location: Lake Umacy Company: Two strangers, a man (Daermod) and a girl (Chani), nearbyThe man stood in front of the girl and also answered Kokoro's questioning of where she was. Lake Umacy is what he told her. After a few seconds of thought, Kokoro's mask changed to her Monkey mask before she spoke. "And... Where exactly is Lake Umacy?" Kokoro paused for a moment before continuing with another question. "And... Umm... Who are you two?" Kokoro didn't need to change her mask for any of this, as she was feeling quite awkward and confused at the moment.
Kokoro had momentarily forgotten all about finding Mamizou and focused more on finding out her current location. It was kind of important too.

Zaul OleanderThe One-Eyed Gunman══════════════════════════Location: Hima | Company: SoulAs Soul turned and walked into the tavern, Zaul arched his brow at the "not into making orphans" remark. It made him wonder, again, just what sort of thing these kids were doing. After that pause of thought, he proceeded to the front desk. "So you lot are staying after all, sir?" "Ahh, yeah...we took one 'f th' one-bed rooms...not sure if we'll be stayin' th' night, but it's a fixed rate anyway, ain't it?""That's right...100 Gald per head, per day." "Heh...purty sure we'll just be one night, then. Oh, an' a heads up that I'll be takin' another avail'ble room if it turns out ta be an overnight stay. Hardly know those kids, so kinda...intrusive ta share th' room with 'em, no? Here ya go."The tavernkeep quirked his brow as he took in the 300 Gald that was placed on the counter. "Thank you, sir...enjoy your stay." After walking into the tavern, he located his acquaintance and approached him. "'Ey, Soul. So far so good?" He was very much ready to have his own lunch, but then he remembered the sleeping girl upstairs. "Whaddya reckon Maka would like? I could take it up ta her so that it's right there when she wakes up." Jade CurtissThe Necromancer══════════════════════════Location: Hima | Company: Krystal and a cranky, elderly local.Jade fell silent and looked serious once more for a moment, as he took into his mind the crises this world was apparently having. The old man did a double-take at Krystal's question. "But you two were comin' down the mountain! How could ya not..." As he thought about it more, he realized that they should've gone through the town to get up the mountain, since the town was where the main path upward started. But if that were the case, how were they not noticed before? Especially with the custom about the fox-woman's costume! This was becoming increasingly confusing, and it was starting to make his head hurt. He put on that expression of a tired sort of exasperation and continued, "Oh, I give up. You're in Hima, the Adventurers' Village." He would not give the name of the world, because he wasn't aware that these people were of other worlds. Picking up his smile again, Jade responded, "Thank you. Truly, we had never been here before. We took an obscure path up the mountain that led us through a cave." He too realized what the old man had, and was able to fabricate an alibi to ward off suspicion. For that same reason, he refrained from also asking what country and world they were in. "Ah, would you mind pointing out where the shops are? We're in need of restocking on necessities." From the shops, he could learn of the world's currency and items, and perhaps Krystal could use the time to recuperate at the inn. And he supposed, along the way, he just might find someone he could confide the truth in. "Eh, out to the western part of the town's all the shops. A general store, equipment shop, and the adventurers' market. The biggest building in town's the tavern-inn, if ya need it. Ya can't miss it."

So they were in a town called Hima. It was definitely a place Krystal was unfamiliar with. The old man didn't mention the name of the world, though it was for the best since how the inhabitants had reacted towards her earlier. If they were to learn that she and Jade were from different worlds, it would cause even more panic. Thankfully Jade was able ward off suspicion. She then gave a slight nod when the old man told them where the shops and the inn was. "Thank you, sir." She then glanced back over to Jade. "Would you rather go to the inn first, or do you wish to stock up on supplies?" She asked.

Jade Curtiss and Zaul OleanderThe Necromancer and the One-Eyed Gunman══════════════════════════Location: Hima | Company: Krystal / Soul "Heh. Good ta hear yer enjoyin' yerself," remarked Zaul with a slight smile, before taking a seat in front of Soul across the same table. When a waitress approached, he looked over at her for a second. "Oh, Ah'd like a heapin' bowl o' beef stew with a couple o' sides? Rice n' some bread rolls.""And what would you like to drink, sir?" "Water's fine." Zaul and the waitress exchanged nods before she went off, then he returned his attention to Soul. "Alright. Ah s'pose that's fer th' better. And uh, just outta sheer curiosity, what's this 'Grigori Soul' ya mentioned?" Learning about unfamiliar powers was always a fascinating sub ject. ~~~ After the old man gave an acknowledging nod, he walked away. Once he was out of earshot, Jade replied, "Let's see if we can gather supplies at all. I'd like to investigate what currency and items this world has to offer first."As he led Krystal through the shops, he was surprised to find the same kind of currency as Auldrant being used. Furthermore, the same kind of medicinal items—namely Gels and Bottles—existed as well. After all, what were the chances? It made him wonder if this world had some unseen connection to Auldrant. Foreseeing that he'd be journeying around a lot, Jade bought up a good supply of the medicinal items. Then, he decided to check out the tavern-inn to see if his luck in finding more agreeable characters to communicate with would get any better. Most of the people he crossed along the way were fairly avoidant, choosing to shy away or ignore them (unless they were the shopkeepers). Jade was perceived as folk too strange to make business with, most likely by association with Krystal. As they entered the tavern-inn, the keeper, who wasn't aware of what had happened outside, did a double-take. "It's a costume," Jade quickly assured, knowing that the reaction was more toward Krystal. Looking to the door in the wall, he asked, "I assume the tavern is through there?" "Y-yes sir." "Thank you."As the two walked through, they would find the tavern only lightly occupied. The small groups that were in there were thankfully too absorbed in the conversations within themselves to notice Krystal and Jade, but the people that were alone would stare quietly. At a table in the right corner in the back of the room, Jade noticed a man of long blue hair sitting with a younger man of white hair who didn't exactly look like a local. Instinct was telling him that perhaps the blue-haired man was what he was looking for. But out of courtesy to his acquaintance, he asked her opinion first. "Krystal, you don't suppose those characters over there are of note, do you?" he asked, pointing at the two. ((Was gonna have Jade go right up to them already, but if Zaul asked a question, I figured I really should leave room for Soul to answer. Also, I apologize if the negative reaction to Krystal seems overblown, but I just felt like that's the way the people really would react. sweatdrop ))

As they went through the shops, Krystal noticed that Jade seemed surprised regarding the items that were available. It was as if he was familiar with them. Not only that, he seemed to possess the same kind of currency. She kept a mental note to ask him about it later on. She couldn't help but notice that majority of the people were avoiding them. She didn't think her appearance would cause a problem until learning what was going on. After they entered the tavern, she looked around for a moment until she heard Jade ask about the man with blue hair and the younger man with white hair. "Judging from the clothing the white-haired one is wearing, he must not be from around here. Hm...Perhaps the blue-haired one could help us." She did have a feeling that the blue-haired man would be willing to help them.

Jade Curtiss and Zaul OleanderThe Necromancer and the One-Eyed Gunman══════════════════════════Location: Hima | Company: Krystal, Soul "Alright, Ah understand." Zaul recognized the slight irritation on Soul's face. He almost chuckled, as that reminded him of someone in his guild who'd make a similar expression if forced to explain things. The most he did was subtly smirk. He'll indeed reserve further questions for his partner. But Soul's comment that someone had their eyes on them wiped that smirk off his face. He turned sideways in his seat to sweep a cautious glance around the room, and soon caught sight of a brown-haired bespectacled man and...a fox with the body of a woman? That was certainly odd, but Zaul didn't feel like she was something to freak out too badly over. After all, she appeared to be behaving docilely, so there was no cause for alarm. The appearance of the man, though normal, still sparked intrigue. He had a military look about him, but that uniform design didn't seem to belong to Tethe'alla or Sylvarant's units. The fact that they were looking straight at him aside, he figured they were watching him because he was starting to have a hunch that they just might be in the same situation as Soul and Maka. He stood up and faced them to signal that he was aware he caught their attention, casually placing a hand on his hip. "There somethin' Ah can help you two with?" he called across the room. Jade hadn't really heard the two conversing, but did catch the white-haired boy briefly glancing at himself and Krystal. "Ah, you caught us," he replied in mock surrender, smiling. Tucking his hands back into his pockets, he walked over calmly to join the blue-haired man at his table. After pulling out a seat for Krystal, he did the same for himself. "Please, sit back down. I would like to continue this exchange in a tone more suited for privacy." Zaul gave a slight nod, folding his arms after having done what was requested of him; Jade sat down at the same time. "Now, judging by your current company, I suspect this question won't sound too out-of-the blue for you." A pause, to allow Zaul to mentally brace himself. "...What is this world called?"They gunman's eye widened, and he smiled in amusement. He took a moment to glance at Soul, then back to Jade. "Yer very observant, mistah. This world's called Aselia. Ah reckon ya already found out this town's called Hima, but you've specific'ly ended up in th' Sylvarant region. N' it 'pears my own hunch was right as well." He leaned sideways for a moment to look past Jade and and Krystal. "Where might you two be from?"

(Was anyone gonna tell me there were tons and tons of posts?) Cross Malaki -------------------------- Location: Sybak | Company: Mamizou, Tear "Those reports are why I have come here. This plane's mana is unstable, and I intend to find the cause." Cross said. The researcher looked at him strangely, and Cross continued. "My name is Cross Malaki, and I am a Planeswalker. I am able to cross the Blind Eternities that separates this world from thousands of others with minimal effort, and I am a master of White and Red magic. I request that you give us all the information you have on these phenomena happening across this plane so that I may determine the root of the problem and begin actions to reduce the risk to innocent civilians." Yoko Littner -------------------------- Location: Flanoir Cathedral | Company: Major, kid(Maiku) "Yoko Littner. I was a school teacher, but now it seems I'm going to have to go back to fighting again." Yoko looked over at her rifle as well, wishing she hadn't picked up that core drill. However, she didn't have much of a choice at this point, so she'd find a way home no matter what it took. Seras Victoria -------------------------- Location: Meltokio | Company: Meltokio Slums "I'll stay here for now then." Seras said, sitting down in the shadows and hoping they wouldn't take long. (Not much I can do with Seras right now...)

That intrigued Daermod. "Lake Umacy is east of Asgard. Have you never been here before?" His tone had lightened a bit as he studied the mask. That was a peculiar object. He wondered how it worked. Magic? Some sort of technology? Chani looked at her brother and saw the expression on his face, sighing. If she didn't do something soon, he'd be lost in his thougts for hours. "I'm Chani Arlic, and this is my brother, Daermod. What's your name? Cool mask, by the way. Right, big brother?" Blinking, Daermod looked down at Chani and rubbed the back of his head. "Yeah. It is. Sorry, Chani. Anyway, are you lost or something?"OOC Just quoting you to let you know I posted. :3

xxxx Maka Albarn - Soul Eater Evans Location Hima || Mood Asleep Content || Company Zaul, a long-haired man (Jade), and a blue fox (Krystal) Mana 100% 100% || Stamina 30% 50% || Overlimit 0% Soul watched Zaul stand up and yell to the two watching them. He hoped no fights broke out. Sure, he could hold his own, but he really wasn't in any condition to fight. All he wanted to do was eat and then give Maka some food so she could get better. And then figure out how to get home and beat the crud out of Black Star for pushing him and Maka through a portal or whatever. The two others came over, and Soul watched the fox woman for a few moments. Was she some sort of cosplayer or was that how she really looked? Things were getting stranger and stranger. Maybe I should go check on Maka. It'll get me away from being asked questions at least. Of course, Soul was also curious about these two. Plus, he could find some things out from Zaul to share with Maka when she woke up. It wouldn't end well if he left all the investigating to her. He'd probably end up with another book lodged in his head. "That's weird. You look like you'd fit right in around here. Uh....No offense to your friend. Sorry....I just haven't seen any fox...animal...people...." Damn. Now I sound racist and I don't even mean to be. I should have kept my mouth shut. Soul sighed and then looked up at the ceiling as if hoping to look through it and see Maka. No. He was just trying to avoid eye contact and hoping his mishap would blow over without any heat. [[ -- ]] Maiku Yamayaki Persona-User Location Flanoir Church || Mood Cold, oddly Pleased, Uncertai || Company Major and Yoko Mana 100% || Stamina 95% || Overlimit 0% That's right. These two wouldn't know what an Evoker was. No one outside of SEES did. They probably saw it as a regular handgun. This was going to be difficult. He knew they'd probably try to take the gun from him once he got ready to use it. That was usually how people reacted when they saw someone hold a gun to their head or something. How would he explain this? Maybe it was best to wait for the right chance. The two suddenly introduced themselves as Major Knight and Yoko Littner. Major's name sounded more like a video game character or an online username, which was weird. And, hearing Yoko was a teacher made Maiku tilt his head. She didn't look like any teacher he'd ever known. "Maiku Yamayaki. Uh....If we're going to look around, shouldn't we find a place to buy some winter clothes?" He doubted a cloak would keep them warm for very long. Not that it mattered....He didn't have any of his own currency, much less any currency of wherever he was now. Maiku knew for a fact he wasn't in Japan anymore. Strange things always happen to people like me, huh? I try to live a normal life and here I am in the middle of some strange city with strange people that have strange names. I wish Mitsuru were here.... He'd feel much better if Mitsuru were around. She would know exactly what to do and keep calm figuring it out.[[ -- ]]

Krystal walked over with Jade to join Zaul and Soul at their table. "Thank you." She said to Jade when he pulled out a chair for her. As she took a seat, Jade went ahead and asked the blue-haired man the name of the world they're currently in. Aselia...That doesn't sound familiar either. Her ears twitched when Zaul asked where she and Jade were from. "I'm from the planet Cerinia, and the Colonel here is from Auldrant." It was rather relieving that there was someone in this world who could help them. She had noticed the white haired boy was watching her for a moment. The blue vixen then shook her head a bit. "No offense taken. I'm the only survivor from Cerinia so I doubt you'd find anyone like me. Though I'm certain that there could be fox people in other planets." Judging how the inhabitants have reacted towards her earlier, it was safe to assume that there weren't any fox people inhabiting this world.

Rhone Craft══════════════════════════Location: The World Tree | Company: Pissed-off blue-haired guy...and friends. (Yuan, Kratos, Azura.)Rhone laughs at Yuan's first response, and continues talking once he regains his composure. "Actually, I have no problem going into those fields. As long as I get out before losing control of myself, I feel GREAT while I'm inside. As for what it looks like..."Rhone places his hand on his chin and thinks for a moment. "That's a tricky question to answer. From far away, it just looks like a large shadow sweeping across the land, only it's being made from nothing. Makes absolutely no sense, no matter how much research I perform. Finally, you have to be really careful not to venture too far."He places both his hands on Yuan's shoulders and locks eyes with him. "Do NOT go too far in! At first things are just a bit dark, like it's dusk for some reason, but as you go farther in, all light begins to dim. Carrying a torch or casting a light spell doesn't work anymore, the darkness just kinda eats it. Finally, when you're approaching the center, all you can make out are vague shadows..."Rhone looks away with a pained expression on his face. "That's when THEY come out..."

Hata no Kokoro The Expressive Poker Face ~ Current Mask: Woman - Joy/Default Location: Lake Umacy Company: Daermod ChaniThe girl seemed rather happy and spirited, asking for her name in turn and telling her she had a cool mask, but the man seemed more straight forward, giving Kokoro the answers to her questions as well as asking some of his own. "Thank you, Chani. I have several of these masks!" Kokoro said, her mask changing to the Fuku no kami mask (laughter) as she did. The girl, Chani, gave Kokoro both of their names when she asked, and Kokoro made a mental note of that. The man had asked Kokoro if she had been to Lake Umacy before and asked her if she was lost. Kokoro put her hand to her chin and thought about those questions, her mask changing to the woman mask (see her above picture) as she did. "Yes, to both questions; yes I have never been here before and yes I am lost." Kokoro told them. She then bowed and told the two siblings, "And my name is Hata no Kokoro, but you can call me Kokoro."~~~~~ ❦ Mamizou Futatsuiwa ❦ The Uncaught Tanuki Disguiser~ Current Form: Human Location: Sybak Company: Tear Grants and Cross MalakiEarthquakes and peculiar monster activity? Sounded like a pretty average day in Gensokyo to Mamizou, but judging from the scientist's response to it it was not all that common here. As Mamizou was about to speak, Cross spoke, explaining that his reason for coming to Aselia was to resolve this incident. He also asked for as much information as the researcher could give. Mamizou chuckled. "As much as I'd love such a colorful story myself, I can only say that I myself have been growing concerned with this phenomenon and tried to find out for myself what was going on, which wasn't my sharpest idea." Mamizou told the researcher. It was a lie, there was no way around that, but she did want more info about this earthquake; as much as she could get. "But, I, too, would appreciate any information you could give us, so would you be so kind as to tell us what you all know as of late?" Mamizou asked the researcher. The thought of getting back home (and having a brief chat with the gap hag once she got there) was momentarily put aside in her mind. This seemed much more pressing at the moment.
