Haha yeah stylization can be hard, really I think most people's style comes natural to them and over time. [Unless you are specifically looking at other things for inspiration] What might help is that you copy some of the drawings in the styles you like for some warm-ups. Not so you can be just like someone else but so you can understand how the artist did things and maybe what he was thinking a bit. Then when you do your own work you can put in what you learned and stylize it your own way naturally! ^ ^ Takes time of course though haha. The way I do art is constantly evolving too. Aw! Thank you! xD Yeah I don't know why I put up only one slot...haha. I plan on doing as many art pieces I can that interest me. ^ ^So really all my slots are unlimited in terms of how much I can get done. xD

That's quite true, I've gradually worked my way from my stuff being too anime-like to what it is now, but I'm still trying to refine things. When I was trying to improve when I was younger and come up with my own characters I did so by copying exactly what I would see out of game/anime magazines, print offs, and sometimes off the tv screen xp . Looking at other artists works for inspiration is something that I've done for several years now and I've only recently started to try and mimic their styles to get a better understanding of their work to apply to my own to create something unique that's my own.

Yay!! I'm glad you've been slowly figuring it out! I've been doing that figuring out a lot myself this past year, it's helped my art so much! I cringe looking at work I did even at the start of last summer. xD But it makes me happy at the same time! Knowing I improved an all. I hope your improvement is successful!

I wouldn't have known without you pointed it out, your art is so good emotion_kirakira . I'm actually hoping if I improve enough and get the equipment I need over the next several months I can finally start on some of these children's book ideas I've been steadily trying to flesh out over the past 4 years.

Hahaha thanks! xD I should make one of those before and after art pieces one time so I can just shock people every once in a while haha. Ooooo! You should use some of those children's ideas to help your improving! I'm working on an idea with a writer friend of mine since last winter and the characters have changed and improved so much the more I have fun drawing them doing different things. ^ ^

Ooo, that would be nifty. If I tried I don't think there would be much difference outside of a small jump in having a more westernized drawing style, but that's it. And I would love to see those ideas of yours one day, is there a DA link back on the first page?

Haha I don't know you might be surprised! There is a DA link on the first page but I think I've only posted on thing I've worked on for that project so far. [My first really bad pass at the main girl character] When I work on larger projects I don't post the work as often as random things for people.
