Letha Nievera

At this point Letha couldn't figure out too much of what Yumiko was trying to say, the fact of she couldn't be seen with either her or Victor was clear but the rest wasn't fitting into place. From what she was telling was if what they couldn't find wasn't near then she would have to return, which brought out a sense she hasn't felt in years. Was it the idea that she wanted to have her go now to get a chance to return home? or was it she didn't want to make a connection that could be broken from something in her family that could break that tie. Letha didn't know but the sense was enough to have her eyes stinging at the verge of tears, and heart sinking lower as if it was another goodbye. It wasn't too certain, but from her options she felt like something was off slightly.
"I...I don't understand, what is it that makes strangers almost taboo to your grandfather? Don't get me wrong, he must be a great man in every way but still.....it's not like we would become a threat r something, that's the last thing I could be to someone when I feel there has been a connection starting. Seems a little strange but it almost feels like I connected with you and Victor that rarely happens to some, trust hasn't been my strong suit till now...you two seemed to had broken that and made it something good."

Letha kept a good face on, but there were many choice things she could say about how Yumiko's grandfather's way of doing things was almost strict and in parts unethical. However it wasn't her place to talk and the last thing she wanted to do was offend Yumiko or say something she would regret later and kept it there.
"Some parts of me would like to see what had fallen to the ground not too far, but even I know that I might confront the animal man Kynar....then that might get a little messing on my end of being uncontrollable. I....I feel I need to help you as far as I can.....even if it means you have to return to your homeland. In a way you can have someone there if it means you must leave instead of feeling alone on a goodbye. Sounds strange but I want to think you have became a friend from another nation...something I never had come into mind in my life till now. Having interact with another far from home helped me connect beyond Jord."

It made a little more sense now that some things were explained a little more clear, Letha would never tried to interfere too much into family, it was one of those values she learned from her own parents that each was different in ways. Though she never been associated with samurai or their ways she just knew they were very dedicated people, which could explain Yumiko's more determined demeanor when it showed from the fight with he dags. Now that the thoughts were coming into her senses, Letha almost had some guilt by going the stubborn part of her personality but shook the feeling off as things were said as far as they could. With not too much time to think about it Letha simply nodded in understanding what could happen to Yumiko and running off from a bad dispute.
"Well in that case then that shouldn't too much of a problem, should you have to leave it won't be too much of a hard feeling since your family traits are very strong to bonds. Most likely I will retrace my steps from where the three of us confronted each other in the beginning. Sure I may sound like I'm being like a cling, but its more of making you feel that your not alone, I know that you and Victor were like that probably before I came along.....from the way you two went into defend mode like you did."
That was mainly from a basic observance from being spotted on the mountain, but something told Letha that those two made connections of their own either friend or more, something that was nothing for Letha to even bother to think about. What matter was the fact she didn't feel like she was being a burden by sticking around, let alone talking to people again since this was the most she interacted with anyone since coming to Vatra from the start. If Yumiko had to go back home, when it had to happen Letha would at least know she had started to lift her fears to open a little more and know where to be with boundaries. Still thinking about Yumiko's partial way to rebel a little, she just nodded shrugging her shoulders.
"It shouldn't be too much of a issue when it comes to not being seen, that's something I've been good at since I was a kid...a reason why I was too good in hide and seek. Besides if it means finding the tonic that will help Victor....then I want to help in any way or sort to make sure he is going to recover. It feels normal to be assistance to those that need some help, and I think its a good way to show kindness when it needs to be there."

Yumiko was an interesting one. On the outside she was trained to be tough, trained to not reveal one's feelings. Mostly because they never mattered. In her head her feelings were always deemed as childish. On the inside however, she longed to just make friends with every single person she came across. She knew it never would happen quite like that, Kynar was the perfect example of this, but it still stood to prove a point. On the inside yumiko was a bubbly and happy female that just wanted a life of choice and adventure. Her life was her own and right now it just wasn't. Her life was in the hands of 'fate' or 'destiny' or a cop-a** way of saying 'grandpa's'. This was how she felt.

So, when presented with Letha, this mysterious girl from Jord with a heart that needed healing, inside she wanted to reach out and embrace her. She wanted to bring her to the shrine and teach her the ways in which she could be free of any strife inside. All by centering herself and learning to calm her own life force. Reality? Don't waste your time on friends because in your destined future, none of that will matter. But oh how she wanted to just run off with Letha. She wanted to run off and investigate that thing in the skies. She wanted victor to be better so that way he could join them. She wanted to go to his school and learn all sorts of things! Anything! Everything. My God she was starved. She read all sorts of books and she wanted to know it all. Yumiko wanted to be anyone but herself. She dreamed of experiencing her first kiss but that was shattered by what the events of her parents death had done to her. Even though it was in her dreams, in reality she would break the hand of any man that tried to touch her inappropriately. In reality she was quite afraid of men and her fear was expressed via violence.

I digress. Victor was nothing more than a man she had met not but a few hours ago. A man that had been trying to be nice and was in need of some sort of guidance because he too was like Letha, new to Vatra. The many wrongs she had already committed! Just thinking about it made Yumiko sick to her stomach. But...she longed for real friends. She wanted to keep Letha for herself.

On the outside Yumiko smiled smooth and cooly to Letha nodding her head.
"Alright. Come then. We need to hurry. I hope you are a fair runner!" she winked and giggled at her. Yumiko had a very distinct voice. Feminine with a slight husk to it.

This close up and face to face with her, Letha could see the white scar that ran across the bridge of her nose. Other wise her skin was practically flawless, skin the color of slightly over creamed coffee.

'Last one to the gates has to eat a dirty rotten egg!' she challenged slapping Letha on her arm before booting it down the path of the mountains. The gates were a good ten minutes now from where they were.

Upon reaching the gates of Eldur Yumiko's clothing now looked a little worse for wear. No longer did she look like she belonged in the upper classes of the great city. From the attack, from the kneeling, from the running, her clothing was lightly dusted in dirt, a little spatter clung to the hem of her robes, her hair was wild looking. She even had a smudge just on the side of her nose. As the two would enter the great city and as they briskly made their way many turned their heads to look at them. I can tell you that none of them looked upon them too pleasantly. Lets not even mention the slight odor of Dag that was upon them. Finally they would reach the south doors and exit out of it to head for the ship that would leave Eldur and take them to Feu.

Letha and Yumiko would encounter no detours or unwanted interruptions. Their business was dire and important. They had a friend in need of saving. The two would board the ship and watch the great city drift further and further away from them as they sailed away to Feu.

"Very well, I understand. It's not every day you stare down an irate cave bear and live to tell about it." Fumiyo let out an amused laugh but her face quickly took on a look of slight embarrassment. "To be honest, I'm not entirely sure where to go next. I know she would have come here to the mountains, but... I really have no idea where. I can only imagine she would come to one of these forested places to try and eke out a living in solitude--so this pine grove in front of us might not be a bad bet."

"Oh, yes of course, that's an excellent idea." Fumiyo watched wistfully as the ravens soared into the air and disappeared from sight. "Flight is an amazing thing, is it not? It lets you see the word from a whole different point of view." When Elias asked his question, Fumiyo suddenly seemed to become saddened, but she still answered. "We grew up together, of course. For a while neither of us had any other friends. We depended on each other... before things spiraled out of our control."

Fumiyo fell silent for a moment before continuing. "Perhaps this is a question you'd best ask her yourself. I've always found it hard to be open about these kinds of things. Ramona, on the other hand, has no trouble letting other people know what her thoughts are. She has a candidness in her that is rare in most people. She was always a powerful elemental, too--nothing like now, though. Now, the elemental power inside her is so great, she is more fire than human... and I fear for her--I fear for what she might become."

As Huginn and Muninn fly high above the the pine grove, they quickly reach its end. On the barren mountain terrain, a few hundred yards past the forested area, they would see something unusual. Amongst the rocks and boulders there appeared a large burn spot. It was too far away from the trees to be from a forest fire and it had an oddly circular shape. Nothing else in the area stood out besides this mark.

Kynar's intimating roar caused the Dags to yelp and scatter. His intimidation tactic seemed to work on the skittish creatures... for now. The fact that they had returned once meant that they would probably return again and with that mighty roar, there was no telling what else might have been alerted to his presence in this pine forest.

Fumiyo smiled in response to Elias's encouraging words. "Thank you. I'm sure you'll make all the difference. " Fumiyo's ears perksed up at the sound of Huginn approaching. "Oh, I think one of your companions is returning to us."

Fumiyo listened to the crow indicate what direction to head in, and she began to follow Elias. "Perhaps we are closer then we thought. What do you think he saw?"

Back at the burn spot, Muninn, on closer inspection, would notice that the very rocks in the immediate area had been melted and warped by the heat of whatever landed here. However, there was no sign of an actual impact. Footprints of a small humanoid could be seen neatly melted into rocks, walking from the center of the crater towards the woods. These footprints quickly faded away beyond the burnt spot, but another set of fresher tracks from a larger individual could be seen heading into the woods after them.
