Finally picked up Salo, or the 120 days of Sodom I may have to steel myself a fair bit to watch this one.

Presumably it's very graphic? Or is it just that people being turned into pillars of salt is disturbing? smile
I'm about two thirds of the way through my A-Team season 3 boxset. As ever, one can have fun playing "spot the guest star who has been in nearly every other 80s action show". I haven't yet got to the stage where it was "spot the random celeb" - I still have appearances by Hulk Hogan and Boy George to look forward to...
I *have* however played "spot the different 'Vettes that are standing in for Face's". The most blatant was one episode when it went from being a convertible to being a hard top. I've also played "spot the reused footage of the van driving, by means of the Camaro in the row of parked cars they drive past". Sad that I am...
Still, altogether still very entertaining. Very few people die and certainly never at the hands of the team. Murdock is still endearingly nuts and Hannibal is on the jazz. What better way to pass a weekend?
I just ordered series 2 of Kommissar Rex as well, although given that that is coming from Australia, it may take a while to arrive. I really wish the German sets on Amazon.de had English subtitles - importing things from Oz is going to cost me a fortune, without adding on the import charges sad

Oh, it's nothing to do with the Bible. At all.
It's based on the Marquis De Sade.

For whom the word "sadistic" was coined? I begin to see your point. Children were involved, were they not? I'm pretty sure he was in one of my "reference" books on vampires...

One of the reasons the film was banned was because of featuring at least one 16-year-old in less than appropriate imagery, I believe.

If anyone in the UK shares my love for that Glen A Larson Western production, Alias Smith & Jones, they may be glad to know that season 1 is now out in R2.
I am, of course, still eagerly awaiting news of season 2 in R1...

Finally bought myself the Pan's Labyrinth special edition. It really does get better every time I watch it.

The dog and the rabbity-thing have some more news of their upcoming DVD release through Shout Factory. Given the company did a darn good job of SatAM, I have high hopes. Sounds like the producer is a complete fan boy, which really helps biggrin Again, thanks to TV Shows on DVD for the news: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=7891DW *preparing to do battle with the thing in the filing cabinet*

I finally saw Romance and Cigarettes last night. Without trying to spoil anything: I don't think that I'll be able to hear someone sing Delilah or even look at Christopher Walken without sniggering for a while. smile (There's a Youtube clip here for the brave. smile )

I did rather enjoy that myself, back when it was in cinemas smile Changes gears rather for the second half, doesn't it?
Anyway, being gifted with some kind of HMV voucher nonsense for my birthday that has therefore given me an excuse to be indulgent, I've picked up Children of Men, The Host, Casablanca, Freaks, House of Wax (original Vincent Price version), Clockwork Orange and Fanny & Alexander. Should last me a little while.

I found the Maltese Falcon marginally more interesting than Casablanca, but let's face it, neither film was really my cup of tea smile Still, some of old Warners' biggest successes, so I kinda had to see them. It also makes several episodes of Animaniacs make a lot more sense (not to mention "Overdrawn at the Memory Bank") biggrin
I meant to get round to seeing Children of Men, but never quite managed it.
In the meantime, I've just preordered the final season of Count Duckula. Thank you, Cosgrove Hall. I was a little worried they weren't going to release it. Blahdvd.com has the cheapest copy I've seen so far - though I went to thehut.com so I could get Nectar points smile
Any joy finding the DM boxset, Xag? I saw one in HMV the other day, but they wanted £50 for it, which seemed a *little* excessive....

Nuala I knew I should've picked the DM set up for £25 last year when I had the chance. stressed Cheapest I could find it on eBay was £33.50 too. Blahdvd has it for £32.39. Still cheaper than picking up the DVDs individually, though. DW
