Makuri grabbed her with force and sped off to the mist cavern in flight. As he flew he saw Kain placing the bomb.

kain opened the parcel and the bombs flowed out. "i cant, i cant do it anymore baron's evil must stop!" (this might clear up odds and ends please watch mist destroyed)

Makuri had sensed Kain's sorrow. "What have I done? Kain is right. I should've stayed with the Monks I thaught they were the bad ones." Makuri opened his backpack and layed it on the floor. Makuri reached in and found his endarkened crystal. CRRUNCCH. "There the evil is out of my heart, I may not be as powerfull but I can still achieve the second level."

Makuri lifted his hand, it still had yellow crystal fragments in it. "I am already free of the evil." Makuri lifted the girl on her back to follow Kain.
