I know I am comin in late on this conversation, but I felt I would give my oppinion anyways.
an ani-manga, for me, is not a big deal, its just screen-caps placed on paper for book form. Now for me, what I would like to see is a version created and Drawn by Yasuhiro Nightow. I'm an all around Nightow fan and absolutely obsessed with his artwork.
Though I dubt thatw ill happen, Trigun Maximum is still coming out in YKO (young king Ours) magazine, and there are more rumors of him creating a Samurai based series. which will be interesting in itself if it comes to be.

Sexy_Sessy Tay-Zay IT WAS SUNCOAST!!! THAY HAVE GONE TO THE DARK SIDE gonk WHY???? OMG YES!!!! I KNOW!!! I WENT THERE AND LIKE I WAS ALL "Where's the manga!!??" *twitch* and then I walked out of the store completly tromatized....... *twitch* So the manga is all gone over there too?? Allow me to explain. I work at a Suncoast, so you can trust that my information is true (according that my higher-ups were truthful to me). Basically, our manga supplier was not keeping their end of the bargain. They were not sending shipments in on time, sending the wrong stuff, not sending it at all, etc., etc. So this basically led to use cutting ties with them, and forcing us to send all the manga we have back to them. So we had no manga until we made a contract with a new supplier for manga and books. Now, everything was going dandy, until about January/Febuary, when the Musicland Corporation (the company that owned Suncoast, SamGoody, and MediaPlay) fell into bankruptcy before the contract was finalized. Thus, the new supplier didn't want to risk their stock into a company that was currently going through a bankruptcy, so they didn't send anything until about March/April (after we were bought out by TransWorld, which also owns F.Y.E.), but even then it was only about a dozen or so volumes of about only five titles. Also, hentai has been known to sell (I mean, I've sold so much hentai to people ever since we got it. Heck, I've even bought a couple DVDs me-self smile ) so that's why you see hentai were the manga used to be. I hope this has increased your knowledge of why we have very little manga in our stores now and why we now sell busloads of hentai.

Since we've been all beggin' for this, yet so far as the states go we have seen nuttin', I figured I'd post up somethin' I found recently ('n pre-ordered). http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalogmgr/r-CJyyZVtSWeXjEGTi/browse/item/68871/4/0/0 Go to that site, 'n the item shown is a collective Gungrave Archive book. The description will speak for itself, but in a nutshell it's a collective book of Nightow's work on Gungrave 'n etc. Granted yes you can find the various art books for both Gungrave 'n Gungrave: OD (I own OD, but not the original) this I think more goes along the lines of his artwork, maybe some snippets from the not so seen manga (I believe) that he's done. It's $20 (includin' shippin') for nearly 250 pages. yeah...i'd say it's worth it.
