"Trace, please." She said, on the verge of crying. "Yes, I do love you." She repeated. She then grabbed his right arm, not hard though... "You can't tell me that you didn't feel a connection between us in the forest. Or even before that!"She said, pleadingly, trying to make him admit his true feelings for her... "I love you, and maybe- maybe there's a way that I could help you. I'd protect you with my own life, Trace." She finished, hoping for something a little more heartfelt this time...

Crap. Crap, crap, crap, crap, CRAP. That was pretty much the only thing Trace could seem to think of for a few moments, as he frowned. After a long pause, he frowned and looked down. "Yeah... I felt the connection. But I felt friendship!" He thought he knew where this was headed, and said with a sinking feeling,
"I know that by now you've had to have learned about me and Joslyn... Please. If you love me enough to protect me with your own life, don't you think you love me enough to not make me choose between you?" He sighed. God, he was terrible at all this. It was to be expected, of course. One doesn't exactly become the pinnacle of social experiences when one is running around the country, blind and outcast.

Alexx asked, raising her voice a little louder. "Am I not good enough? You haven't even given me a chance. You only know me as a friend..." She said, then started to cry little at the end of the sentence. "I felt more than friendship in the forest. I felt love..."Alexx finished her side of the rant, then continue to cry softly...

Jesus... Trace frowned, shaking his head. "Don't cry. Okay? Just... Don't." He hated people crying. He liked everyone to be at least moderately happy, which was pretty much a pure contradiction of his school, his life, and the world as he knew it. Yet, it was true.
"You... Left. Leaving... Abandoning everyone here, was just wrong. I can't be with someone who leaves so easily..." He shook his head. How the hell was he going to get out of this without royally screwing over his life? Unfortunately, he already had a feeling that he wasn't.

She stepped closer to him, holding both of his hands."Please, Trace. Give me another chance... Another chance at love..."Alexx said, looking at where his eyes would be.

"I..." He paused. She was asking him to throw away everything he had with Joslyn... He should be saying no without hesitation. He should be convincing himself that what he had already was good... But he found himself unable to say anything. Unable to even move away. What the hell is going on...?
He sighed, and looked at her. "You realize what you're asking me to do?" His voice had dropped a bit lower, and he was talking pretty quietly now. He had a slight frown on, but still hadn't moved away.

She asked, also speaking quietly now. She still held his hand while talking..."She's not really right for you. I can give you what you all you need... All you want. I can be better for you." She said to him, hoping to convince him that she was better than Joslyn... She then leaned in, and kissed him on his lips. Gently and pataonetly, and hoping he wouldnt pull way too soon...

That startled him. At first, he just figured she had stopped talking, and he was about to reply when she suddenly kissed him. It was so sudden, and not entirely unwelcome, that he could do nothing... Except stand there, debating whether or not to return the kiss.

Joslyn thought restlessly. And then, out of the corner of her eye, she figured out exactly where they were. In the hallway, in front of the lockers... She felt her breathing delay slightly, and clenched her fists. "What the hell?" She whispered to herself quietly. Alexx and Trace were doing anything but talking... "Yeah, I can see you two worked out whatever it was that was bothering you. She muttered sternly, yet sadly, anger and resentment filling her head. She couldn't even move from the spot she was standing in.

F**k my life... Trace whirled around at the sound of Joslyn's voice, looking around almost in a panic. "No! No, no, no! This isn't... I wasn't... Didn't..." He frowned. What the hell was he supposed to say? Again, Trace wasn't a master of social situations. Especially melodramatic social situations. Or awkward melodramatic situations. And this was one seriously awkward, unbelievably melodramatic situation. Trace was pretty much screwed.

You two should be together. You both have betrayed at least one person at this place, even the ones that did love you." She frowned, and left without another word, back to the Archery Range, wiping a single angry tear from her eye...

Damn. Damn, damn, damn, damn. Damn. Trace frowned, listening to Joslyn walk off. He clenched his fists, and shook his head. It was too much to deal with all at once. Maybe once everything had cooled down he could figure out what the hell had gone wrong... But right now, he had to go back to class. Because even with all of the super-important, ridiculously awkward melodrama that seemed to be ever-present in any school ever, classes went on as always. So with a grunt as he punched the nearest wall, which ended up being a locker door, he walked back to the Archery Range. Not particularly caring if his hand was busted from the punch, or if he had damaged the locker. Minor, insignificant details. The little, non-prophetic voice in the back of his head was telling him to check his hand. It was fine, so he walked out the door and back to class.
