((To Crimson Flash: It's getting there... kinda XD))
Ysa watched out of the corner of her eye the fracas between Troa and the man was going on, not to far from her. The boy had skill- well at least he had a fighting capability, which could be rather valuable. She kept her head level and un moving as she watched him from behind her sun glasses, idly debating whether or not to approach him. As soon as he started muttering something about a job she decided. A new addition could always be good.
She stood, her hands in her pockets and began to walk after him. "Excuse me..." she said in a conversational tone, her voice calm, collected, and dangerous like the killer she was. She lightly jogged up to match his pace. "I couldn't help but notice your..." she took a moment to search for a word, "little display there." she glanced back to the man who was still on the ground in shock. She brought her attention back to him. "So, what's your name?"

Troa looked at the woman who was speaking to him for a moment, thinking he heard something in her tone. Either way it sent a chill up his spine. "Troa Reeve... and, thanks. Glad to know I could put on a show, donations to the feed the homeless are welcome." He added with a smirk, taking a drag from his smoke and blowing the smoke away from her. Guess I got the beggin done with... He thought to himself.
I like this woman... she seems like my type.
Then I guess I should keep my guard up... Troa thought to Vince.
That's mean.
Deal with it.
"How can I be of service to you by the way? I do odd jobs, cleaning to babysitting, to body guarding... you name it I can probably do it. For a small fee of course." He added with a grin. "Sorry, I don't have a card. Had some in the old city, but never had enough to get more with the new address... which is now nonexistent." He added with a grin and shrug.
((Yay!! =D))

Ysa smiled and looked him over once again. "It's a pleasure to meet you Troa. I would give you my name, but I'm afraid that will have to wait until a later time. " she said glancing around. There weren't many people out in the night, but cities always had eyes and always had ears. She was a wanted woman and couldn't afford to go under ground- she would be bored out of her mind.
"As for your services..." she began as they walked down the side walk. She looked ahead of them as if she were talking about a Sunday brunch. "Well, I work in a very specialized field which involve talents that little demonstration suggest you have." she explained. "In my line of work, we deal with problems for people who cannot afford to tarnish their reputation by dealing with those problems themselves" she laughed slightly to a joke inside her head. "Needless to say it's a rather demanding profession and because of it people are dying to find me." she said and then turned to look back at him. "If you aren't following, I would be happy to explain in a more private setting." she gave him a dangerous appraising smirk.

Troa cocked an eyebrow, exhaling smoke in a huff. "Don't take me to lightly, I'm not that stupid. I've had to raise myself on the streets pretty much, I could already tell from your tone you're not the average woman. From what you're saying, I'm gonna assume it's a round-a-bout way of saying you're an assassin. People can't get their reps hurt, so it's gotta be secret. Demanding for sure, on top of having the weight of a human life on your hands you have to acquire info on you're target. I've had to do a few similar jobs before, never any aces, but more like a paid fighter kinda thing." He added with a shrug. "But with me being jobless, I'll follow... never know who's listenin..." He added, glancing quickly at a security camera.

Ysa's smirk turned into a very calculating smile. "Excellent..." She said and then decided the best place would be a place that was pre-checked for bugs and the best place she could think of was her team's under ground. It wasn't official or anything, just a local residence that hosted a few of her lackeys when they needed the space- or at least that's what was intended of it. It was dispensable if need be and in fact, it wasn't even that far. "Well, since you already seem to recognize what I do in such a frank manner, then I suppose I could go on in the generalities. If you are no longer interested by the time I'm done, feel free to continue your homeless wanderings." she looked back down the direction they were walking.
"I can say that if you do take up my offer you will be paid. The pay isn't annual, but it is normally a notable sum. You will have access to training facilities, weapons and be able to have a place to stay. However, you must decide carefully, because if you decide to join me, not only is it an underhanded line of work," she meant against the law, but she was putting it gracefully, "But I can not let you leave my organization while you're still alive. Very important information, you know. Isn't in any of my people's best interest if it gets out, you understand."

Troa shrugged. "I have a similar protocol with clients who ask me to fight someone. After the job's done they loose all information on me, or I go after them. I do check on their computers and everything, threats taker care of those who have a better memory. "He added with a smirk. "I'll keep the warning in mind though, please lead the way." He added with a small smile. "Worse comes to worst though, I can go join a circus." He said with a smirk.

"Very Well..." she said simply and lowly. She was silent the rest of the way, there was nothing more she could say that would remain a 'safe' topic. She turned a corner and then there was the apartment complex. The room was on the third floor. Just far enough from the ground that it was easy to escape but took effort to break into. She opened the door without preamble and walked in.
It was a normal looking apartment, other than the sleeping bags and pillows that were in the living room. But there was a kitchenette two bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room with a television and a couch. Pretty simplistic. Once Troa was inside she closed the door and locked it. " Just a precaution." she explained. She shed her coat and set it on the couch and began to dissemble her outfit. She didn't know whether or not she could fully trust him, so why not throw some bait. When he found out who she was, she would know if he was a cop or not. She took off her sun glasses and wig and tossed them on top of her coat. "My name is Ysa Woolfe and I am a mercenary for the behalf of Aota." She said putting her hands on her hips, and not that he would know it, but close enough to one of her concealed blades that she could pull it if she needed to.

Troa looked around the room, smirking at the lock. He nodded after she spoke. "You know me..." He said, cocking an eyebrow as she began to disassemble her outfit. Sighing inwardly a bit, and raising his hands lazily in half defense. "You don't have to worry about putting me in a false sense of security. Who's a homeless guy gonna tell? Sides, if you really wanna verify that info, my old apartment was on the other side of town. Second room to the left, above a bakery." He said as he leaned against the wall, placing his hands in his pockets. He had a knife in his left pocket, but kept his hand off of it. He assumed she was good enough to tell that, though the knife wasn't large it was big enough to see though the pants if someone looked close enough. At the moment, it was on it's side at the bottom of his pocket. The only other weapon he had was in his bag, and that was just a slightly bigger knife. "Smart location though, not only is it hard to get into; for trained people not hard to escape. The lack of stuff in here too makes it kinda like a mobile base no?" He added with a shrug. "Can I still smoke in here though?" He asked with a smirk. "Or will that damage microscopic bugs in the room... assuming there are any." He added with a grin. "Anyway, half jokes aside. What was it you wanted to tell me. Names and employers aren't the heart of the subject I'm sure." He said with a shrug.

He wasn't a cop, and that was a good thing. When he asked if he could smoke in the room she waved her hand as she sat down next to her old disguise and crossed one leg over the other. "What I wanted to ask you is if you would consider joining my troupe." she said, though she was sure it was obvious. "I assume you have heard of Aota? While I cannot promise you member ship until after the head is contacted, I can let you work for me." she concluded and watched him for a moment. "Other than that, there isn't much else to tell. it's a rather simple offer. That is unless you have questions for me."

Troa shrugged as he lit a smoke. "No questions, just assumptions that need confirmation. I'm assuming now that I'll need to be tested, despite the fact that contacting the head before membership would need to be done. I doubt that you would offer membership to someone who proves to be worthless. This work under the table, so to speak, would be that test. This is what I'm assuming." He said as he took a drag. "I'll work for now, and because I'm not a member; if I decide to leave I'll be safe. Relatively at least, but I'm pretty good from running and laying low." He added with a smirk.

Reina nooded "It's okay. I'm sure we'll get him out." she said before she smiled falling into place by Carmen and letting her guide her out of the house and onto the street. Unlike the night before it looked like more people were out and about now. Everything looked a whole lote livelier. She looked at people as they passed by Reina waving to random people who occaisionally waved back. As Carmen moved through the crowds she pulled close not wanting to become lost. She had never seen this many people in such close quarters before...
She saw the building ahead and felt her heart ache slightly with the memories of the night before. She hoped that Drake was okay. She glanced up at Carmen as she felt her squeeze her shoulder. Reina gave her a timid smile and entered the building glancing around. She stood beside Carmen as she asked of Drakes where abouts. Reina was quiet but her eyes darted around hoping to catch the tiniest glimpse of blue hair that might signal the presence of her friend. She didn't see any... but she hoped that just meant he wasn't there.

Tyler panted slightly. He had come up with nothing that he could seriously consider "sane" so far. Sitting on top of the building in the baking sun wasn't helping. He amused himself for a while by watching the mob graze by beneath him, feeling positively superior. Suddenly he saw something familiar. Tyler peered over his perch, spotting the scientist and young girl from the night before. They were trying again? Not smart, but then, Tyler ruefully realised, he was still at it as well. Sliding down the ladder, he paused gratefully in the shade for a few seconds, reveling in the cool sensation on his parched skin. Then he strode confidently out into the mass walking by, blending in with his scruffy-but-not-overly so appearance, so common in the streets.
Tyler caught up with them quickly, and came abreast of the scientist on the opposite side of the girl- Reina, he remembered- and spoke in a casual tone.
"Yo, m'names Tyler Creed, and I think we might have similar interests, if yanno what I mean...that is, assuming yer comin' to bust out my man Drake in there. Whatcha think?"
He never broke stride as he spoke, keeping his eyes focused ahead and seeming as though he was not necesarily associated with the women beside him.

═══════════════════════════════ AFTER CHECKING into the Anabel Library, Michael strolled leisurely to the Keeper's Nest -an elevated, enclosed circular space where an old man with a pinched face sat, glaring at all the people who stared at him for too long. No one could really blame the people though, the ones who gawked like deranged folk, because the Keeper truly was a sight to behold. He wore a bright, neon yellow jacket with electric blue trimming, the long hems disappearing below the desk around him. The fabric was shocking enough but it seemed to be made even worse by the way it hung loosely over his whip thin frame like the wrinkled skin of his face. He was tall as far as anyone could judge. No one had seen him stand up before but if his spindly arms were anything to go by, the Keeper was well over six feet.
Most people would have been deterred by the bizarre man's appearance and if not, the Keeper's beady glare would have kept them far away. So far in fact that they would never have the chance to see that the hands he hid within his yellow coat sleeves were as clean and well manicured as those rich lady snobs who spent more time in the spas than out doing something more relevant to, well, living. The smooth skin, white as imported china, and delicate fingers belonged on a fair maiden not on a lanky old man who resembled more of a spider than a Temen. As a matter of fact, they did belong to a fair maiden.
Michael reached the Keeper's Nest, peering up at the man who was not a man with a polite smile. "Good morning, sweet Anabel. I don't suppose you have the book I'm looking for?" He watched her turn her death glare onto him, channelling the forces of cold fury that would have made any sensible man run away. The effect was lost on him however. Really, she couldn't expect to scare him when he knew how beautiful she truly was. This whole creepy, old man guise was just to keep the boys away. Boys like him, for example.
"Yeah, yeah. The book just came in by personal courier. Right out of Tia's forges," the Keeper said, voice betraying the facade completely. It was light and melodic, if not a bit edgy. Just like the sirens of mythology, the sound was alluring, tantalizing, and most definitely female. She glared harder at Michael when she saw the beginnings of a stupid grin worm its way across his face. She whacked him over the head with a blue hardcover book. "Give it up, Kid. I'm not interested in men like you--"
"You mean handsome, charming, and witty?"
"--who--What? No! You blasted enemy of all women, you! I hate childish men, dammit!"
"So you admit it then?"
"Admit what, you cow?"
"That I'm your self-proclaimed enemy."
Silence.
"What about it?"
"I think you know." Michael gave her another one of his polite smiles, totally innocent if you didn't look at his eyes which sparkled with the devil's light. He reached over the counter and snagged the blue book out from under her hand, winking at her before turning on his heel, marching around the desk with a smug gait. He raised his hand to bid farewell, not needing to turn around to know she was watching from her perch. "Thanks for the book, Anabel," he said, paying no attention to the spectators who stared at him like he had grown another head. "My offer still stands. All you have to do is tell me you're infatuated with me and I'll make sure no one ever bothers my dear Anabel again. You know I treat my girls well."
Michael easily dodged the calligraphy pen Anabel threw at his head, the golden blade of the pen skimming harmlessly passed his ear, lodging itself into a solid wooden bookcase a good twenty feet away. His smile faltered for a second. As confident as he was in his own skills, he was still damn terrified of the woman. Man did Anabel have an arm.
"Have a nice day," she said and he could hear the strain in her voice, like she was forcing herself to smile through her old man mask.
The ground opened up beneath him and Michael was gone in an instant. The spectators blinked as if the sight of someone speaking with the Keeper was more shocking than holes in the ground that appeared out of nowhere. Actually, that was probably true. Holes were a pretty common thing nowadays, with several large buildings outfitted with at least two of the special tunnels. The people would have kept staring if Anabel didn't yell at them to go back to their asinine wandering.
Michael meandered his way through the pitch-black maze without a light, having already committed the layout of the labyrinth to memory. With the roundabout approach he was taking to the main cavern -his first choice for a path being blocked by construction work -he had plenty of time to think and as he thought a strange thing occurred to him.
"I wonder if the Viceroy's ready for the party tonight," he said, avoiding a rogue rock that jutted out of the wall he was clinging to. That night would be Wyonix's opening ceremony and the Viceroy was inviting everyone to his castle that doubled as City Hall. Even homeless vagabonds were on the guest list. Michael giggled. It surely was a set up for disaster and he couldn't wait.
"I just hope he remembers that his oranges do not belong next to my strawberries." ═══════════════════════════════ ((Ah geez. Sorry for the absurdly long post, and the fact that I kind of went missing for a week and a half. Michael's posts (assuming he isn't interacting with any of the other characters) are mainly for information and entertainment purposes. The most important details are usually shown in the last few paragraphs so feel free to skim. xD))

Carmen turned away from the desk at the sound of another man's voice. What on Earth could he possibly want? She didn't know him and she was kind of busy right now. Her eyes narrowed as he explained his purpose right in front of the police station, while she was standing at the front desk for Christ's sake! "You would do well to keep your voice down Tyler Creed. I am here to visit Drake, nothing more." she put emphasis on visit, just in case the guards had heard their conversation. It was likely, after all they were standing right there. "Busting" out Drake would probably not be the best of ideas at this point. If he were to break out it would only be more reason for the police to track him down and therefore find Carmen and probably discover her true identity. Carmen whipped back to the desk, eyes boring into the clerk that worked the front desk. He looked like an intern, nervous, sweating, unsure of what to do. Luckily the station was mostly empty at this point, maybe he would let them through. A different approach might be necessary. Carmen softened her expression to one of worry. "Please. I'm his fiancé, and these are his brother and sister. We just want to talk with him, it won't take long. Please?" Carmen worked up some fake tears, one of them sliding off of her cheek to land on her collarbone. "Well...I don't....okay, okay." The man finally gave in and Carmen gave a smile grateful smile, wiping the tear from her cheek. The chief must have been out, he never would have let Carmen back there. Good thing only the newbie was left behind. When the man turned to show them the way Carmen winked at Reina and Tyler before taking the girl's hand and following the officer in training to the back. "You get three minutes." Carmen nodded and pressed herself against the bars, making sure she looked lovestruck while the cop walked away. "Drake! Look, I'm here to help you out. I don't care what you did, I'm doing this for Reina and because I know a criminal wouldn't take in a little girl like that. Do you have any bright ideas, because I've got nothing. And I really, really don't want to have to bust you out unless it's absolutely necessary."

THERE WAS no response from Drake as Carmen called out his name. Even if he had heard her, he wouldn't have had the strength to make any indication of it anyway. Laird had left him in a mess and if he was conscious, he was certain he wouldn't want to see just how badly of a mess he was in. The last thing he remembered before blacking out was Laird's fist, easily twice as large as Drake's, and all four rings he wore.
Between the hastiness in Carmen's voice and the lack of movement from Drake, one would expect the beginnings of frantic music playing in the background, followed by a hush as the new arrival made his entrance. It would have happened like that too if this were a movie. Seeing as it was not, the man didn't wait for some off stage cue to come rushing in, shoving Carmen aside without once sparing her a look.
He curled his fingers around the bars of the cell, thankful that Laird was arrogant enough to leave the electric field off even after he had left. That saved him a minute of tinkering and quite possibly breaking of high tech machinery. The man walked over to the side panel where he would have inserted a key if he had one. He stared at it for a moment, wondering if he should have grabbed a spare on the way here before thinking better of it. Taking a step back, he cracked his knuckles, took a deep breath and threw his fist at the panel. There should have been a crack, or a bang, or at least a thud as his hand made contact with the piece of metal but there was only silence.
"Ah, who am I kidding. I couldn't break you," the man said to the blinking lights of the panel. He opened his hand and rested his palm against the keypad. Leaning forward to press his cheek against the lock, he whispered some incoherent blabbering that was most definitely not English. A second later the cell door was open. There was a faint humming in the air and one could have sworn the lights on the panel winked at the man.
As if noticing for the first time that he was not alone, the man paused midstep, the sudden urgency to get to Drake forgotten. "Wow, uh, well..." he said with a shy smile. "Gosh, that's embarrassing... Let's all pretend we didn't see that, alright?" He cleared his throat nervously and started fidgeting with the hem of his tailored shirt. Honestly, "the man" looked more like "the overgrown child" with the way he was acting. His face screamed like a kid who had just been caught stealing cookies before dinner.
"Anyway, my name is Ivan. I'm assuming since no one has whapped me over the head with a baton or a gun that you guys aren't with the police, which is good because I'm going to be stealing this," he pointed at Drake, "young man here, who, by the way, is not as guilty as the locals think he is. Actually, he's not really guilty at all of anything... really. He's just got a few loose ends and some, uh, questionable behaviour records, but other than that, Drake's a fine man." With the sheepish look in his eyes and his overall nervous, childish attitude, he didn't look like the kind of man who would be assigned to watch over a top class criminal. Ivan was, after all, Drake's parole officer.
