Rufus looked to the door, and made sure everyone had left.. Waiting until he felt the time was right he turned his gaze back to Marlute. Looking at the man seriously. "You're helping me get out of here.." Was all he said and the blonde turned his attention down to the IV in his hand and the other wires and such that were hooked to him to help monitor his vitals, and he began to pull them off, disregarding the irritating feeling of pulling the needle from the IV out, but simply throwing it asside he moved onto the others. He was restless, wasn't it obvious? It was one thing that he wasn't allowed to work much given his condition, but now they expected him to stay in bed? Hell no. When he was younger, it was Tseng who had to tolerate Rufus' restless behavior. But the Shin-Ra knew if he tried to leave and Tseng found out, he wouldn't allow it, not this time. You need your rest. Would be his excuse before forcing the President back to his hospital bed kicking and screaming.. Okay not kicking and screaming, but against his will none the less. However, a new recruit wasn't going to stand up to him, the President. Marlute would cower and comply with any order he gave him, he knew this, and was obviously going to use it to his advantage.

Marlute blinked, his mind just couldn't seem to register the words Rufus had just told him, nor the fact that the man was actually intent on doing it. "E-excuse me Sir? But...Your health...." he said, feeling foolish for contradicting the President, but not wanting to be the cause of his Superior injuring himself by attempting an escape. He gave a heavy sigh, and reluctantly pulled the plug on a few of the machines, knowing their annoying alerts would attract attention. He wasn't completely complying...or so he thought. After all, the more he thought about it, the more justified he felt by merely disapproving of Rufus' plan, but not acting on it.

Noting that Marlute was finally starting to comply and listen to him, Rufus didn't take another moment trying to convince him. Once the wires and machines were unplugged, Rufus sat upright from the bed, pulling off his blanket to reveal that he was already fully clothed underneath, like he had already been planning this. However, Rufus' clothes were not that of what he would normally wear. Instead of the usual white styled suits, Rufus was dressed like that of a 'commoner'. Shifting his legs off the side of his bed, Rufus set his feet on the cold floor. He still had to get his shoes, and a jacket he had hidden in the room that seemed to match his current 'outfit'. And thankfully the building was small, so his room was on the ground level, sneaking out through the window would be a simple task. And once they were free, they had all of Midgar (or whats left of it) to lose themselves in.

"Sir..." He began, thinking that maybe it was a good time to try and talk some sense into the President. "...It's proba--" Turning around from the outlet to face him, Marlute did a complete double-take when he noticed Rufus was already dressed and prepared to go. Had he planned this from the start...? It seemed almost impossible for him to have done such a thing, but none the less, it was true. At that point, he forgot any logical argument he had planned on making, and retrieved the shoes and coat from the far corner of the room, placing them beside his superior. To say he seemed absent minded was an understatement, but it was only from the fact that his mind was struggling to keep up with the most peculiar first day at work in his life...

"I want to see what's become of my city with my own eyes.." Somewhat of a true statement.. He figured it'd SLIGHTLY help ease Marlute's troubled mind. Rufus leaned down and put his shoes on as they were given to him and pulled himself to his feet. Taking a second to be sure he had himself balanced and had the strength to stand, he'd reach for his jacket and slip it on as well. Fixing the collar of the his jacket, Rufus finally turned to look back at Marlute. Reaching up to brush those blonde locks back a bit he gave the Turk a light smirk. "Let's go." Thus, he turned and headed toward the window, unlocking it, Rufus slid the glass up bringing in a light breeze of fresh air in the process. "Tseng is out at the front with the kid, Reno's probably trying to get a hold of Rude, and the SOLDIER is guarding the entrance. So the back's our best and easiest way out."

Marlute reached up to hold the window into place, and nodding to Rufus. "Of course..." He said, with a slight smile. It made sense that he would want to see what had happened in his absence, and he couldn't argue that if he were in his place, that he wouldn't want to do the same. Besides, he'd be there to keep an eye on the President, so nothing could go wrong.....erh...well...maybe. He locked the window so that it would stay open, and took a step back, to make sure they hadn't forgotten anything.

Rufus peered out the open window to see if anyone was around.. Success.. No one in sight. And Rufus looked back to Marlute once more to motion for him that it was okay to go, only to stop and stare at the younger blonde for a second. Moving to stand upright. Rufus stepped foreward and approached Marlute without hesitation, or a word in explanation. Another moment of silence, Rufus looked down at the new Turk in a disapproving fashion, and finally reached out for him. Moving quickly those nimble fingers unbuttoned the jacket he wore, and in a matter of seconds it was off, and Rufus was loosening his tie. And it was then he finally spoke up. "You'll be way too obvious going out looking like that." The jacket was tossed asside, and Rufus untucked Marlute's shirt from his pants, and finally reached up to ruffle the man's hair a bit before he finished. Taking a step back he looked Marlute over again and finally nodded with that usual smirk. "Better.. Now let's go." The Shin-Ra turned and began to make his way out the window, leaving Marlute standing there, shocked at what had happened.

He blinked, not knowing at all what to do or say...After a few moments, he let out a sigh, and realized that he'd been holding his breath the whole time. He slowly looked himself over, adjusting to the idea of having to look so messy in public...but if it was what Rufus wanted, then he saw no point in arguing. Before heading out the window after the President, he gave his shirt a weak tug to try and straighten out at least a few of the wrinkles, though it did little good. "Right then...." He said to himself, and reluctantly followed.

((Gonna to a lil skip to get them away from the hospital razz ))
Rufus was already outside, looking around, taking in his surroundings, when Marlute arrived behind him. Looking back at him to be sure he was following, the two had snuck off. And finally they were boarding one of the trains that ran around Midgar, (suprisingly the system was still running). Upon boarding the train, Rufus got his first look at what Midgar's people were going through.. The sickly, the crime and trouble makers.. Not that there wasn't any before.. But now it seemed even worse. Thankfully Rufus wasn't stupid enough to keep his wallet in one of his pockets of his jacket, but he wouldn't be suprised if Marlute ended up getting pickpocketed.. He didn't say anything though, if it happened it'd be an amusing experiance..

Marlute had become somewhat accustomed to taking the train, although he never quite felt comfortable about it....The type of people that rode them always seemed to be the worst type of crowd, and he kept his gaze fixed on Rufus for the most part, trying to avoid staring at the others who sat near them. The whole thing felt awkward, and more than anything he wished he could feel like he was in at least some control over what was going on...

His eyes, on the other hand, were constantly on their surroundings, watching the others, taking note at the few looking back at them as well. And one person that was.. Looking at Marlute. Half happy he wasn't the one noticed right away, Rufus took a moment to clear his throat faintly to make his presence known and moved to sit a little more against Marlute, slightly trying to avoid freaking the Turk out right away, but trying to get a fake message across the the man giving Marlute 'the eye'.
Leaning a little closer in, he whispered into Marlute's ear. "Don't freak out." Reaching up, Rufus gently rested his hand upon the other blonde's cheek, turning him to face him. Soft lips moved away from whispering in his ear and found their place upon Marlute's lips.

Marlute wondered what on earth he would possibly "freak out" over, after all, nothing seemed to be going on at the moment....He opened his mouth to question what Rufus was talking about, when suddenly he found himself unable to speak. His heart skipped a beat, and he froze almost in shock upon feeling their lips meet, the warmth of Rufus' breath seeming to make him forget all about everything, and he couldn't help but lose himself in that kiss. What was he doing? He couldn't remember anything, nor did he want to...It felt too wonderful, too perfect for him to try and figure out what had happened. His heart was racing, and he wrapped his arms around the man, who's very name he couldn't even recall, clutching at the fabric of his clothes.

What the hell!? His eyes almost opened upon feeling Marlute's arms slipping around him. He was going along with it? Either that or.. Those lashes lifted just enough for Rufus so see through, but to the distant eye they still held the image of being closed.. Glancing back at the person that was looking at Marlute, and seeing he had turned his attention off and onto someone else once he saw Marlute was 'taken'. And finally, his lips parted from Marlute's. "Good." Maybe it was so long since he had been in this situation that it was simply the first thing that came to mind, in order to prevent a problem from starting by having the other man approach Marlute. Normally if it were him and Tseng in the situation, Tseng managed to act on his own in order to get onlookers to go about their business, without Rufus' aid in any form. None the less Rufus turned away and slipped back from the Turk's arms to sit back in his seat more comfortably. Acting as if nothing had happened between the two only seconds before.

Marlute felt Rufus slip from his grasp, and the moment their lips parted he realized what had happened, what had he been doing...What the hell had he been thinking...?? He wanted to hit himself for losing control, but perhaps he could just play along with the idea that he was merely acting. Still, there was a horrible sinking feeling in his chest, but he passed it off as being solely from embarrasment. "Um...." He said quietly, keeping his eyes away from Rufus at all cost. "...President Rufus, where exactly are we headed...?"

"Does it matter?" Rufus looked back to Marlute calmly, he could see the embarassment on him even when he tried to hide it. And the thought brought devilish smirk upon Rufus' expression. It was rare, but even Rufus liked to have fun. What better way to have fun then by the misery and embarassment of others? And the current subject of his amusement, Marlute. What could he say? He was arrogant and self confident, Rufus sat up and leaned over to Marlute again, brushing his fingertips softly upon the blonde's cheek and running down his neck, his lips teasingly close to the Turk's lips. Knowing the moment he was close, Marlute was almost completely forgetting who Rufus really was. His boss. President of Shin-Ra Inc. "Maybe an Inn...?" Inside he was cracking up, but that prideful exterior would never let it show.
