Unfortunately, we're going to have to wait until Toy Fair to hear if there will be other DC Barbie dolls. Ivy is a case refresher for the current assortment, meaning she was put into the cases sent to stores to get stores to order more cases. Supergirl has been discontinued and replaced with Ivy in the cases.

I'd definitly say Harley is the most likely candidate to be made, though, since she's very popular AND in both JLU and the old Batman/Superman cartoons. Next likely is Hawkgirl...

With news of the Elektra Barbie, though, I cross my fingers for a Sue Storm one to come out with that movie, too!

What are the rarest superhero toys ever made?

Good question!

They are the Super Queens dolls, made by Ideal, the makers of Captain Action. Captain Action was the first figure to have liscensed superhero outfits. Capt. Action was basically a G.I. Joe whom you could buy outfit/accessory sets for, including Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Green Hornet, and Aquaman.

In the early 60's, Captain Action was a smashing success, so Ideal decided to branch out into the girls toy scene with a set of four Super Heroine dolls, called the Super Queens. Batgirl, Supergirl, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman's wife Mera were made into 12" Barbie-sized dolls.

The line failed MISERABLY. Apparently the market just wasn't ready for girl dolls dressed to kick butt. As a result, very few were made, and they are incredibly valuable today. A complete set of all four in box sold last year for $2700.

Pictures of the lovely Queens can be found here:

So, sadly, us average collectors will never see one of these beauties in our collection. (Unless we're a mighty fine customizer... xd )

On the plus side, Mattel, the makers of Barbie, now own the DC license and have been releasing AWESOME Superheroine dolls for the last few years.

Hopefully, these dolls will sell well and insure more characters to come in the future!
