Dude, Triscuit!!!
That is no fun. (Although, I do LOVE the ramen. Sadly I ate my life-long allotment during college. Now if I have some my tummy tries to explode a la "Aliens". That's not right.)
I'm still too chicken to have my car investigated. I did call around to discover that Jiffy Lube's 60K mile service is about $700 less than the dealership's. So that is where I will be parked either tomorrow or Monday (depending entirely on whether or not Jiffy Lube has a wi-fi connection so that I can keep sending Valentines . . .)
Love your Valentine's outift, BTW. It is super-sweet.

I've probably eaten my lifetime's allotment of ramen as well, but you know...I never do get tired of it. It's weird, I'll tire quickly of any other food if I eat it more than once a week. But not ramen. I guess that's one more thing to be grateful for. xD
Also, thanks! I really just wanted an excuse to wear the stupid pink House Bunny shoes. blaugh

Tired and annoyed for accidentally messed up sleeping rhythm. Having to get my a** up and go to training in twenty minutes. xp I don't wanna go. (Yes, yes, I'm still going, I just need to rant a bit to make myself feel better.)
I'll add some thing...
Why does some older people have to act like self righteous @ss when dealing with those who they think are kids? I look quite young. But I still had to verbally b***h slap an older man who thought that whole bus likes to hear about his dead rich wife, strange political views and rest of his life. With voice that went from normal to half-shouting, just two seats in front of me. xp Not a slightest respect for the other people around. And he tried to make me feel guilty and childish for example asking if he's bothering my 'trendyness'. I snapped back not caring for such things - for I'm an artist. wink So was he.
I walked out being SO winner but I hated that I had to be the one get an adult on line.

Sounds like that guy was maybe a bit loopy. confused Good for you for the verbal b***h-slap, though! I almost did that to a customer today, but...I suppose I need to keep my job. xd
It's kind of weird because at my last job, if a customer was being really rude, I had no problem with being rude right back. I believe you should treat people the way you'd want to be treated yourself, and that applies to the people selling you beer or serving your food or whatever. Plus I just knew I probably wouldn't get in trouble for it. But here, if I so much as look at a customer cross-eyed, they're likely to complain. I guess the people out here are more uptight.
Since I started this job, I've actually had a couple of dreams involving that situation, where a customer was being a total a**, and I just snapped and started yelling at them. blaugh

My car died today. At Taco Bell on my lunch break. gonk I think it's just the battery...a coworker was nice enough to give me a jump so I could get home. I haven't tried to start it again, but when I shut it off, it made a weird clicking noise I've never heard before, so now all these crazy improbable things are running through my head because I'm a paranoid freak. I've been saving up all my money so I can move out of my brother's house, and if it turns out I need to spend it all on this car...I think I just might have a breakdown.

Yes, that is likely a dead battery.
If it were the starter, it would whir without a trace of catching.
If it were the alternator, other electronics in the car would begin acting up before it got to that point--and a jump-start would not get you back on the road.

Phew!!! biggrin Thanks for the support Bold! And Tris, I am so glad that I concur about the sounds. My car only makes the clicking noise when the battery is dead. I thought I would register my vote because I generally continue to fret about purchases of which I don't know anything. So, to summarize: clicking noise from car that won't start = needs new battery. That is very nice of your brother to watch out for you! My Dad does that for me. And he never even complains about when a husband will take over for him. wink

Yeah, I don't know diddly-squat about cars, and this is the first time I've had a battery die on me. Someone told me it could be the alternator, and I was all "OMGOMGOMG". I tend to let myself get carried away with the worrying and fretting, so I end up imagining all these worst-case scenarios. I think I do that so that when it turns out to be not so bad, I can be all happy about it. And when it DOES turn out that bad, at least I had prepared myself. xd

As far as I can tell! At least it's not dying on me anymore. I know the brakes need some attention because the Les Schwab guy told me when he replaced my bearings. So I should probably do that soon. Brakes are kinda important, I think. xD

Yeah. Brakes are one of my favorite features in a car.
I think I forgot to mention that my nephew got his learner's permit. So, in my family, we've each spent some time practicing w/ him. I think we'll always remember May 2009 as the month of nail-biting!!! It was not until a few days before Graduation that we could be sure that he would pass English (& therefore qualify for Graduation)!!! That plus the driving! And then, on top of those dramas ~ yesterday he left for Army Boot Camp. sad crying heart
We won't see him until mid - late August!!! I am glad that he is excited & I'm proud that he is so civic-minded. But I am just so gosh-darned worried!!! biggrin

Ok. So, our delay in celebrating Pumk's birthday has been distraction. Mostly the distraction has been Nephew's BootCamp. But here is the latest on that: eek So he travelled away from the Sacramento MEPs Center for Fort Jackson last Wednesday. It usually takes about a week to complete the "in-processing" & receive one's actual unit assignment (therefore getting an address to which loved ones can write). On Friday night, my sister received a voicemail from Nephew indicating that he was coming home early & to expect him in 2 to 3 weeks.
What?!?
No details other than that until Sunday night. Now we've learned that he is being discharged early because of something "Medical" and will have to wait for his next opportunity to telephone in order to ask any follow-up questions. The timeline for his return is still 2 or 3 weeks.
What we do know is that BootCamp hadn't even started for him yet!!! rofl I wonder what has happened (& how?!?)
But the distractions of his going to BootCamp (preparing the first batch of letters which would include envelopes, paper, & stamps for him to answer our letters), and now his not going to BootCamp (in case he is mandated to travel back to Sacramento instead of directly to San Diego, I'm going to be ready to pick him up at the airport (here) and drive him back to SD & my sister).
Ironic!!! biggrin What is that boy going to do next?!?

Goodness, Sharnie! I hope the "something medical" isn't anything serious! Why couldn't they just tell him the reason instead of making him wait and call? Good grief. rolleyes I hope all works out in the end! My granddad got into the Army, and he had a glass eye! Of course, that was WWII era... xD

Nephew knew what the "something medical" was, but Sis couldn't make-out what he said when he phoned her.
He's still not home yet. But I believe he is allowed to use the phone every day now. He doesn't call me though ninja That's ok. Almost done w/ my chores so that I can return to my real life (here). lol Can't wait to have him at my mercy in the car and discover the story. biggrin
