"I don't have anything to say on the topic." The woman decided to ignore the nomads words. She didn't like nomads and she wouldnt' start just because one seemed to have a semblance of a brain. She went about dressing Setara's wound, busying her hand instead of her mind.

Setara would have rolled her eyes, but instead sat in silence & let the nursemaid dress her head wound, not bothering to muse over the subject. "My apologies if I made you uncomfortable Ma'am." Setara apologised, seeing no sense in being impolite after at least being givena response. She let her green eyes wander about the room & jumped abruptly as a shrill whicker sounded from outside. She recoiled at the possibility that Lorkhan was being mistreated, but put the thought aside as he knew that the sound of protest had not belonged to her equidyne. She wondered then what had befallen her little vixie, the newcomer. After that, her mind wandered back to her family again & she digressed into a sullen & worried state of mind. She would not have realised that the nursemaid had finished seeing to her as she was so deeply emersed in thought.

"Oh, never you mind with the apologies... and hold still!" The nurse-maid also gave a bit of a start when Setara jumped since she didn't expect that.
"Honestly... how am I supposed to get you cleaned up if you scare me like that?" she complained in the way older women do. She took a moment to smooth out her clothes and resettle herself and finished up the task fo cleaning Setara's wound.
"There now. Now you ought to have a bite or two more. We'll have your fellow mended soon enough." The woman slid off the bed picking up the medical supplies and walked back to where Matta lay, and began assisting the younger one in tending him.

Setara held still as the older woman dressed her wounds & looks sheepishly downwards at the lap. When the nursemaid had finished, the young nomad chewed at the remainder of her roll & decided that eating any more was not a good idea. Setara slumped comfortably & let herself relax. She rather hoped Matta was alright. In fact, she rather hoped that everything would be alright. Though she figured thath things would most likely not turn out as such.

Now that Setara had been taken care of, the nurses were pretty much fully concentrated on Matta right now. They were surprized that he had been able to withstand such wounds through the night. Neither suspected he carried daemon blood.
Matta groaned and stirred fitfully in his sleep. He had been laying peacefully until they unbound the wound on his leg, aggravating the wound to bleeding again. He'd broken into a sweat and the two nursemaids switched places so that the elder of the two could user her expertise to calm this wound. The younger mapped the sweat from Matta's face with a cool cloth, trying to get him to settle down. The elder worked on matta's leg, her brow knitted in concentration.

Setara collapsed onto her side as they worked, finding that a soft surface beneath her tired form was incredibly comfortable & served to almost lull her to sleep. But Setara's unclear head was not about to allow her an more rest than she had acquired already & raced continuously with thoughts. One thought almost reduced the Nomad to tears in an instant, but holding true to what she was, a rogue, she held back her weeping & merely let out a quiet sigh. After nearly quater of an hour, Setara sat up & looked about, feeling guilt stab at her again as her eyes fell on Matta. It was most definately time to go. She carefully wrote out her letter to Matta & again, the words did not seem to make sense. Mayhap it was because she had never truly been able to make sense of why Matta had helped her, or why even she had risked going back to him to be checked over rather than go elsewhere. Rather than ponder the sensation further, she tossed it aside & finished her delicately writen note. "Excuse me Ma'am. But I have something most important to attend to...am I free to go?" She asked courteously, regardless of the nurses obvious disregard for her.

The elder woman stopped and nodded to Setara. They hadn't been told to keep either of them, otherwise a guard would have been posted just outside the door. The steward would have left instructions to keep an eye on them if they were indeed criminals.
"You're free to go. I believe your steed is being taken care of in the stables. but what about your fellow here?" She indicated to Matta, assuming that the two of them were together. Matta was just as unconscious as before, though finally starting to settle down a bit. The woman's tone, however, showed that she didn't expect Setara to stay and wait for her friend.

Setara shrunk slightly under the gaze of the older woman. Again guilt stabbed at her & she looked downwards. She didnt want to explain herself. Part of her wanted to say her thanks & goodbyes, the other part urged her to go from him to her family & spare him any more trouble. Her mind made itself up, & it was the more polite part of her mind that won through over the part that wished her to flee from the situation. She shook her head & smiled. "I was just curious Ma'am. I was not sure if we were being detained & felt it best to ask." She bobbed her head respectfully. The woman was older than her after all. The other half of her cried out in frustration. How could she forsake her family so!? But the other side of her had atken that into account also. Should Malak suspect her of playing traitor, he would torture her first. Then that failing he would torture her family in order to force her to talk. Killing her family first would only strengthen her resolve & so, make the whole process meaningless. Though whether that was what her mind found more pleasing & comfortable was another matter entirely.

She raised a brow at Setara's answer. The elder woman shrugged off her thought on the matter, though she was fairly certain that Setara wasn't just inquirying like she said she was. It was painfully obvious that the woman didn't exactly believe the answer she had recieved.
"We're almost done here." Is all she answered and went back to knitting up Matta's wounds. She wondered why this young man would risk himself over a wretched nomad. the bruising around his torso should have been accompanied by broken ribs, but none of them were. The blow to his head could have killed him, but didn't. The bleeding from his leg should have drained him but still he lived, and the girl didn't appreciate it.
Matta himself was in a world of nitemare and doubt. his head was filled with mixed up dreams of getting attacked, floating up a flight of stairs, feeing an equidyne, working on herbal medicines and the smell of a female. Though no longer flinching and looking fitful, he was not as still and calm as he could be.

Setara flinched, as if she couldnt feel any worse. Setara looked round the older woman at Matta, fairly sure that the older woman was displeased by her lack of outwardly shown concern. She was worried sick if truth be told & sick at heart to know that such a kind creature had been harmed because of her. Always she valued the lives of others over her own. Though at the moment she felt it better if she did not get in the way of the nurses as they worked & felt that despite her being polite, it wasnt helping. What did they expect of her? how had they expected her to react? Setara got up & went to watch the nurses work, sitting nearby the elder, out of the way enough so as not to be a hindrance, but close enough to be able to get a close look at Matta.

Matta's dream state broke as a wretched scene of death played before him, and the scent of a woman was replaced by the scent of blood. His eyes shot open and he stared with frantic, blind eyes. The smell of blood was his own blood... But his blood-starved mind couldn't connect the pieces of what had beena dream and what had not and consciousness left him again. his body went limp, and his breathing, though shallow, was steady and no longer riddled with groans from some unseen threat.
The two nursemaids exchanged a bit of a look of concern, but now that he wasn't flinching their work would be easier. And they made short work of the rest of his wounds with nimble fingers from mending many soldiers wounds.
And now that he had been sufficiently bandaged, the two women decided it was a good chance for them to take a leave of absence. They'd been working most of the morning and already, the sun had just finished it's noon-time peak. They gathered up the basins of water, the bloodied cloths and left the room mostly in order. And once again the two were left alone in a room.

Setara shuffled along the rough floor on her knees to sit at Matta's bedside, leant against the bed. Her green eyes peered out from under her thick red fringe in their usual owlish manner, the rest of her face obscured behind her folded arms that were rested on the bed. She let out a small sigh & leant her head to one side. "What ever could you have done to deserve to bump into me." She chuckled quietly, finding it odd that she was talking to an unconscious individual. "I mean," Setara carried on rather light heartedly, brushing a wayward forelock from his face in a manner unusual for her. "What on earth were you thinking? Wandering about with a nomad." She shook her head & folded her arms in front of her face again. "Though I guess I can consider myself about as sensible as yourself. Cant see trouble even when it stares me in the face." She remarked, though her voice was considerably muffled by her arms & hair. She brushed her fringe down with her good hand, trying to tame her scruffy locks. They had become fluffy & unruly since her one sided scrap with the other nomads. She huffed & looked at Matta, grinning without realising it. "I'll bet you dont have this problem." Setara said, rtying once more to tug her hair into a better state.

Matta stirred a little at the sound of the familiar voice so near. His mind floated somewhere between being conscious and not. He dully heard the words she spoke through muffled hearing, but felt unable to move of even respond. He wasn't even sure if it was part of a dream.
Fingertips twitched feeling the foreign hand brushing hair from his face. A human touch finally pushed him over the marred line. The red eyes slowly cracked open and he tilted his head slightly. He had no clue where he was but, Setara's blurred form was there. Slowly his vision began to focus. The corner of his mouth upturned a little at watching her fuss over her hair. It was the first time he'd seen her fret over her apperance. Though... she was correct. He couldn't remember ever having to detangle his hair... even now the raven strands looked freshly brushed.
"...helps if you use a comb." he said softly in a thick, sleep-ridden voice.

Setara seemed to have digressed into such a comfortable state that she squeaked in something akin to either surprise or dismay & fell backwards onto her backside from where she had been precariously perched on the balls of her feet. The nomad looked at him huffily & pouted. Though she found it rather hard to stop a smile tugging at the sides of her mouth. She sat back the way she was & watched him, her arms again in front of her face. "I will hardly have steady hands enough use one if certain people insist on startling me so!" Setara huffed, raising her head slightly to get a better look at Matta. "How are you feeling?" The young nomad asked quietly, noting that he sounded rather sleepy. "I can shut my yap & let you snooze if you would like...I did not mean to wake you..."

((quaaaaa. so cute. This scene is making me squeal ))
He pushed himself to sit partially upright, despite the protesting of his ribs. The light blanket that had been laid on him by the nurses fell away from his chest and Matta was accutely aware of his lack of a shirt. Though not naked, he was thankful the blanket covered the rest of him.
"I didn't mean to startle you." He swung his legs off the bed, grabbing the blanket with one hand and pulling it around himself. He leaned towards her, and held out his free hand. He smiled down at the site of the nomad flat on her backside. "At least let me help you up."
