I didn't write the article though. I find that writing about myself in the third person doesn't feel right.

smile Every time I've had a journal article published, I've had to write about myself in the third person. And when I speak at conferences, they always ask for a blurb for the program booklet--and those are always in third-person.

It IS eerie... I usually make fun of it by ending with "she enjoys this and that and the other hobby, and is painfully fond of speaking of herself in the third person." *grins*

Well my article was published in the local paper today. I had asked for my mobile number not to be included, and they included it. I did get one inquiry today though. A girl rang me up about it. I don't really mind as long as I don't get bombarded with calls on my personal mobile number. -_-'

That's a little creepy of them to put your number in the article... But if it gets the interest going, that'll be good.

It may just be that a lot of folks don't know about the shipping opportunities; hopefully that will change! Good luck with it!

Yeah, well it's done now anyway. I'm a bit disappointed at the moment though. I've only had the one inquiry and that newspaper is distributed across the entire county (not country).

I'm now an official member of the TSYT. I applied for membership, paying £3 per month. I got a free car sticker which is in the back window of my car now. Yay!

That's very cool! Nothing like a car sticker to make it feel official. Sort of like a lapel pin! smile

I hope you start getting more inquiries. Maybe once spring comes and people start waking up...

*grins* So... are you about to leave for the next trip? Remember to take lots of pics... I'm very happy for you!

I had a dream about tall ships the other night. Probably comes from having been researching historical British Navy dress tailcoats online... one learns the most wonderful stuff when one is doing costume research before a con! smile

I need to get photos of myself in my renaissance gear. I have pirate and vampire style clothing. Hehehe...

Yeah, I'm off in a couple of weeks to the Caribbean. Whoo!

You must go and do it. Hopefully you'd be able to sail with the same organisations I sail with even though they're based in the UK. If not, there's Sail Training International that could help and ASTA (who are based in the US).

Considering that the group over here is called ASTA and I'm JASTA, how can I NOT go?? smile

I'm trying to talk a friend into it; she loves sailing too, and tall ships. I doubt it will happen this year, but hey, you never know! If I win the lottery, it's at the top of my list! smile

Have a safe trip, a great time, and take LOTS of pics!! smile May the spirit of Nelson be with you!
