"Call her mother." Nelphean offerd to Tyler. He sat with the two children, he began to sing a quiet song, a happy little tune he made while watching two birds fly.

Ecara twitched her ears. "She won't mind. Saradin Phoenix is like my daddy. And Niah can be your mommy if you want her too." A swish of the tail. "If your mommy is the one who loves you then why hasn't yours come for you yet? My mommy never leaves me alone."

Aura rubbed at the back of her neck as she flipped through pages still. "Damn broken information..." A finger ran along the page, then her eyes widened something as the ramblings began to go in the direction she wanted.

..but some bond children are not bound to their given title as such. The product of two souls merged together, the bond child's body has characteristics from both.

The questions is raised of whether or not said child can grow and change. The product thereof or the bond child has been known to grow, and change.

This change can be attributed to the strength of those who are soul bound to create that specific child. Some grow at an accelerated rate depending on the strength of the two souls used to create it; some are slower and some grow almost at the same rate a human child would.

A strong bond is the means of growth. If a bond flourishes at exceptional levels then the child flourishes as well. However, should a bond become weak, the child will revert back to its original form; the titled intended bond child.

"We want your help, Nailah...we were afriad that you would not teach us after you left so abruptly..and then you seemed to avoid us. we wanted to show you we were still interested in learning."

His red eyes looked up to her violet ones from thier gaze toward the floor. he couldn't hide the affection that showed in them, but he wanted to see her eyes, look into them rather than the floor.

"We are..grateful to you, Nailah. for things you don't even know you do. and we would be very much..Honored? to have you teach us to read, and to help teach us to write better."

His eyes were deep pools she could get lost in, almost making her regret what she had said. "Civililty is not needed all the time, but neither is animalistic behavior." Her eyes took on a thoughtful look, "But wait, I am part cat am I not? I wonder how you restrained yourself before." She smiled and lapped at Nelphean's lower lip then pulled away to laugh.

"No, in fact I have gotten nothing I intended done, and I wonder why."

Tyler listened and then nodded. "Miss Niah...is my mommy. My mommy is Miss Niah." He laughed. "I like it. It makes me feel all warm inside." He smiled and said "'Cause you call Miss Ara Mommy, right? And I dont' member Miss Ara being big and puffy." Cara was right. If his mommy really loved him she would have come and gotten him already. After all she had put him in the hole in the ground and she knew exactly where it was. He had been there for days and she had never come.

Niah blushed and hid her face. When she felt the heat leave her cheeks she looked at him. "I dont' know what you mean. I rarely help anybody anymore." She shook her head and moved out of the doorway then motioned him inside. She plopped down on her bed and said "I would never not help you just because you had said something Cymarron. Never." She looked at him for a moment trying to find what she wanted to say "I got a little...nervous. See, I dont' know how I feel right now and it's all so...new." She left it at that then stood and walked over to a corner of her room. The wonderful book corner. She had just about all her favorite books in there. She crouched down and looked through the stack trying to find the simple one she had snatched from the library to teach Tyler to read with.

Nelphean smiled at Bastet, "Well, I have to admit I was worried about something coming out of the shadows and taking you from me, but since you have lived over five days, I don't worry so much anymore." The elf stretched, "Perhaps you should go talk to Nailah sooner than later, it will only make things more difficult if you keep waiting..."

Saradin nearly wandered into the kitchen, but stopped just beyond the door, looking in at Aurah where she sat over the book. Involuntarily, his hand clenched into a fist and his teeth grit as his eyes tightened shut at the futility of himself, but then he sighed and let that tension go entirely. Saradin had promised to be strong for her, he wasnt going to be so insecure as long as he had her. But the fear... the inability was still there in his shaking hands. Slowly, he backed away from the door and walked into the great hall.

He settled just inside the doorway, and sratched behind his ear.

"You help us very much. you take away the darkness."

His brow furrowed, trying to think how to explain it without her becoming nervous again.

"We hear the Beast in our head. that part of us you saw at the tavern that last night...the part we feared that if you saw you woudl not want our company anymore. when we are around you..it has no hold on us. it's like it has no strength, no power anymore."

He thought that was a good explanation without bringing up the subject that brought her unease last time they spoke.

"Silly. That's because I wasn't born like a normal child. Daddy says I am a bond child. I'm special because I'm made from mommy and daddy's souls." She then leaned close as if to tell him a secret. "Sometimes, daddy says I can use both of their bodies and I get bigger. I look like my mommy but with my ear and tail and teeth, and my wings get bigger and I can fly too." She nodded and leaned back, the excited tone in her voice had been clearly there. Then she frowned slightly. "But they won't tell me how to do it."

"That makes....little to no sense, but yet perfect sense at the same time. Damn book." Said book, got tossed off the table and onto the floor where it slid. Said nothing about a change in behavior. "Now I remember why I said books on parenting were crap..." Dropping her head into her hands for a moment she sighed then cracked her neck and stood, making her way to the bar. She poured herself a glass of wine and sipped at it. "How long has it been since I had a drink?"

Tyler nodded and listened to Cara but saw Mr. Saryden doing the same thing he had. "Come out Mr. Saryden. Cara doesn't like it when we hide." Then he turned back to her and said "But I like you the way you are. Why do you wanna be bigger for?" He thought for a moment. "Hey Cara? If you ever do get bigger and you can fly...would you take me flying?"

Niah thougth about what Cymarron had said. Darkness...it was something she knew a bit about. "I remember you were like an animal...you tore them apart and I was a bit unsure. But Cymarron, there is another side to you." She stood up, the book clutched in her hand. She walked over to Cymarron and looked up meeting his eyes with her own. Softly she said "I think you would never hurt me. And I know that you don't mean to let the Beast have control. Although I have to say that it makes me feel good to know you care so much about me that you were willing to tear two people apart because they tried to hurt me." She then opened the book and pointed. "Now, this is the alphabet. You need this if you want to learn how to read or write."

It seemed liked ages since she had been here. She was so afriad of returned that she hesitated at the gate. She hands shook with fear. Memories of times long past came flooding back to her, filling her head, making her dizy and confused. She stumbled to the gate and pushed it open. She was about to knock on the door.

She stopped, she hadn't seen him in ages. She knew he would be most hurt, if he was around at all. She shivered, though it wasn't that cold outside.

There was no more putting it off any longer. She mustered the courage inside of her. This was the hardest thing she had ever done. She inhaled deeply, and softly exhaled. She brough her fist to the door and gently rapped on it.

He took the book gently, like it was a precious artifact, and looked it over. he recognized the symbols from what he had been copying, but didn't know how they went together.

"We recognize these symbols..this is the..alphabet. how does the alphabet work?"

He looked at her, and purred lightly.

"We would die before hurting you. and we would have razed that village to the ground if it ment your protection. it is a reason we have chosen not to Hunt. we did not want to hurt you by a chance your empathy might pick up the pain from our prey."

More people, he didnt even hear Tyler speaking to him, he only knew that he didnt feel he had the capability to confront right now. He was running now, plain and simple. Just didnt want to see him unable to defend himself. They werent the ones to look to either, he knew where he had to go, and was going to face her. Turning back again, Saradin returned to the kitchen door, standing next to it, not looking in this time. "Damn.." he whispered, frozen in place by indecision once more, he felt like he could keep this up all night, and almost turned away again, but instead remained rooted.

A laugh, "I am the thing coming out of the shadows now." Now she was just going to tease, "So now you want me away? My dear elf you need to make up your mind. Maybe I was safe in your company. Maybe the shadow just waits." Bastet became a little more serious and realized that she did need to talk to Nailah. Nodding, she kissed Nelphean lightly, "I will go and talk to her. Then I will see you later." On her way out she winked to Nelphean and ignoring everyone, went to Nailah's room, taping anyway on the already open door.

Phea was scared. Was no one home? This wasn't like she remember. SHe gripped the flowers in her hand a little tighter. All she wanted to do was pay her respects to Quain. His resting place was in the courtyard of this manor, thus that was her destination. She really didn't have to saty. She didn't anyone to be awkward around her.

Another deep breath

Again she lifted her hand and knocked, this time a little harder and louder.
