Mortimer walked across the deck carrying wood to the various holes on the ship's deck. "This is going to be a pain to clean up." He placed the wood down next to a few sailors fixing one of the bigger holes he had just made. "Have fun guys!" The sailors grunted in an annoyed response. "Hey with out us you guys would be doing nothing on this trip so be happy you are not waisting your money gambling."

Mortimer started to walk back to the wood storage when he noticed the Venus diplomat Makko fix a hole. "Heh, even on the water you Venus guys can still be of help."

indigo shades flashed in Leer's eyes as he took in the situation. his focus was on this demonic whale thing...whatever it really was. In a flurry of hand movements, shadows jumped up into his hands, there shape taking one a one-and-a-half-handed longsword. A few more form his left hand as he held the blade with his right.

As he did such, the winds kicked up immensely, the gust targetting in on the whale in hopes of slicing it and cutting it deep. A [gale tempest] whipping it's way towards the thing, compacting at it's center of mass and creating shreadding wind speeds that would cut like a continual stroke of steel blades.

He turned brefily to watch Iden contact the gorund and then refocused his attention, rememberring his job to keep the whale off ioden's back, and Iden's to handle the dragfon for him. The Mercury adept would notice a [healing breeze] pass over him, easing his wounds a smalla mount as he came to a stop.

It was only after this did Leer begin taking niotable action. With the use of both hands, he flung the sword skyward, appearing to aim a little high of the whale. As it spun over itself and reached the top of it's arc, he flashed into movement with demionic speed aided by the winds carrying his course. he put his force behind the bvlade as he gripped it again, and repostionned the fall to land straight atop the whale's back, the blade being used to secure his hold as it slid into the creature's flesh.

((right, I'm having an off day, so i dunno' how well that actually came off. Sorry for delaying things))

Solana laughed at the Elder's remarks. Eira appeared beside her, looking very confused.

"I can see you are very sensitive to the movements of Psynergy around you. Good or you." Solana turned to Eira.

"Are you alright? I knew you would be headed this way, so I just shortened the trip for you." Eira nodded and tried to catch her breath after the sudden shift in movement.

"Sorry, that can be a little trying for one who has never done that before. If I remember right, even Leer got a little woozy when I first took him for a spin." Solana smiled at the memory and then her face changed. It went back to the seriousness it had been at before that small moment.

"To answer your second question, because I am assuming that the first was rhetorical, I do not know what Kassion plans on doing, but I do have a clue as to what it is as it is probably very much like mine." She held up her hand and a small orb of purple and white light swirled in her palm. She smiled at it before it disappeared. She looked up at the Elder.

"What would you have us do? Wait for the threat to come back out? Maybe being down there with Kassion will help Matt see my viewpoint. And in the long run, maybe the fights that are happening down there will make the evils come out. They are just a little bit weaker when they are up here."

As Iden scrambled to his feet to rush the dragon, he found himself running alongside Matt. He snarled at the man.

GET YOUR OWN!

And then Iden leaped, hurling himself through the air at the dragon. Matt would reach the beast first, by virtue of his speed boosting psynergy, but Iden would not be too far behind, since he had started rushing almost as soon as he'd hit the ground, despite the bleeding gashes along his chest.

The creature was screeching in pain, and pushed off the ground to rise skywards, as Iden descended towards it. He shouted a warcry as once more he was blanketed in his own psynergy. And then, rather than one man falling upon the dragon, it was a torrent of [Ice Missile], which smashed and shattered upon the scarred hide. Scarcely did the creature have the chance to respond before Iden had bodily crashed upon the beast, blade first. His sword dug into the armored skin, and Iden twisted the blade to secure his position mounting the beast's back.

Eira nodded at Solana. She had heard that Solana could pull people out of a place and time and put them down in another. she had just never seen it done. Solana was right, she did feel a little woozy, but it would go away soon. Eira just decided to let Solana and the Elder talk for a little while as she tried to put things together.

"I just wonder if I can be of any help..."

Kassion raced back in his Chariot towards Maxwell and the battling tree. It was still out of range of Maxwell, but it didn't seem to be taking too much damage from him or his demon dragon.
The time that they all had to finish each opponent was minimal. In moments more demons would be there. Lesser demons, no doubt, but demons none-the-less.
He sent a mental call to Titan and activated his favorite djinn's strength ability.
Seeing the dilemma and their pinch for time, Kassion curved in a downward arc and to the left, causing the Chariot Orb to whistle and screech through the air in seeming protest. He dove down right into the demon tree.
It whipped its vine-like branches out to swat Kassion out of the sky.

It did just that.

Kassion's orb blinked out of existance in a steaming hiss and the branch wrapped around his waist and yanked him down. He was torn from the sky and slammed violently down into the ground, knocking the wind from his lungs and dazing him.
He went to grab Helios, but his hand grabbed air. Helios had fallen out in the impact!
Though, to his relief, Edarum was there. He yanked it out of its holster and went to chop at the limb, but was whipped back into the sky, losing his grip on his second primary weapon. The branch released him, sending him spinning in the air with no control. He used his jupiter powers to stop his spin, but was bashed right back out of the sky by another branch, slamming his face right into the ground.
Still without breath, he coughed and gasped as he stood. He snapped his left hand to his right hip and his right hand to his lower back to the scabbards that held Kai's old weapons. The normal "Spirit Sword" rested at his right hip while the broadsword "Sword of Death" hung upside down and strapped in on his back. He didn't know their properties, but they had helped him in the past, so he slipped them from their scabbards in a single, lightening quick, fluid motion that appeared like a whirlwind (which in his battle rage, he did cause one!) He held the broad sword in his right and the normal sword in his left. They felt extremely light compared to his other weapons in a dual-weapon stance, but he'd fought with them before and they made up for their size with speed.
He lept back and sent the blades into their whirling dance as the tree sent a dozen limbs at him. His speed increased and his strength multiplied many times over, his moves were a blur and to devastating effect.
The branches whipped, stabbed and slashed, their tips razor sharp and nicking Kassion in a few places. Kassion deflected the branches as much as he was cutting them to pieces to have them just regrow. His arms pulsed and grew a bright red; his eyes swirled into their reddish-purple hue.
Rage had entered the fight.
Kassion's arms continued to pulse and their movements seemed to get faster, but Kassion couldn't tell. He wasn't conscious of what was going on.
He was absorbed. For the first time since he had taken Rage, he let Rage take full hold of him. This was a place that Rage was capable of much more than he.

Now, Kassion's arms were aglow with a bright red and his hair floated off his shoulders, defying gravity. He planted his feet and stopped falling back. He connected more with the razor branches and his arms were a spinning, twirling promise of death. The broad sword and normal sword cast after images and also were glowing with their own colors; the Spirit Sword as blue and the Sword of Death as green.
The more they connected and severed the limbs, the more the swords glowed. The tips of the branches stopped growing in as fast. Some of them burst into flames on their tips, while others froze and shattered on impact or began to shrivel.
The demon-tree knew something was amiss and focused all of its attention on Kassion, wanting to stop the rising momentum before it was outmatched, allowing Maxwell his move.

From the sky, others could see that Kassion was surrounded by kicked up ash, but a blur of green, red, and blue, was distinctly dancing about the ashen ground. The tree's attacks were a coordinated ripple, coming in at dozens of different angles, only to be beaten back or severed by another connecting blade.

Just as it seemed like Kassion had the upper hand, the tree recoiled, then lashed out all of its branches at once.
Kassion dove off to the side, dodging many of them, while cutting some on his way toward the ground. He lept to his feet to dodge more attacks when a limb burst forth, slamming his shoulder and finding a crease in his light armor, digging into his flesh and disabling his left arm. He felt no pain but knew he could no use his arm.
The Spirit sword dropped to the ground with a soft thud on the ash.
Kassion swung the Sword of Death at the branch, severing it and causing it to shrivel away. The piece in his arm shriveled and fell to the ground, but he still could not use his arm.
Other branches came at him, but he dropped his sword to the ground. With a two-voiced bellow of pure rage that cut the very air around him, Kassion slammed his remaining fist into the ground. The glow in his left arm left and filled his right, making the light almost unbearable to look at. The impact with the ground sent a massive pulse through it. The glow in his right arm had faded instantly, but the pulse in the ground rippled under the branches and went right beneath the tree. The ground cracked and parted. Fire engulfed the thing. It thrashed about and tried batting away the flames, but simply spread the liquid fire further. It was burning, but not dead. Kassion was vulnerable with no weapons and remained kneeling as the pain caught up to him.

He looked up to Maxwell with assurance in his eyes, knowing that Maxwell was well capable of finishing the job in his un-injured state.

After watching the epic actions performed by Kassion, Maxwell knew what he had to do so finish the demon tree off. The dragon he rode on dived in closer to the creature, flailing about in rage and pain as fire engulfed it. Reaching back to the holster on his back, he drew his sword, and likewise with the ax, and stood up, letting the tree flail it's arms a bit more before he jumped high into the air. Demonic energy began to pulsate from the two cursed weapons, and the ax glowed with a startiling bright light as he dived down towards the creature. Slightly confused with ax, he held his sword out in front of him, cutting a branch that happened to fly towards him in half, and landed on the midsection of the creature, swinging the ax hard horizontally, planting it in the bark-like skin, and ripping it away, the creatures life force draining as the ax devoured it. Stabbing the sword deep into the body, he pulsed the tip with pure liquid fire, and implanted inside the creature a miniature nova bomb. Smirking, he jumped back off of the demon, and landed on the ground next to Kassion, and reached down with his hand after sheathing his sword, his ax still in his other hand, the strange light still radiating.

"Now...how about you die, you blasted creature of the demon realm that opposes us?"

He pulsed energy once again, sending a thin stream of fire to contact with the hole he had made. Suddenly, the entire demon exploded, branch tips flying everywhere as they writhed, firing burning them away. Nothing was left of the creature, only a large hole in the ground, with a puddle of molten lava moving over the ground, engulfing all of the remnants of the creature.

Kassion stood up and watched his apprentice finish the tree-thing. His was quite the display, igniting the creature from the inside out, shattering it and sending burning pieces of wood all around them.
He moved around the ground, picking up all of his dropped weapons, sheathing them as he grabbed them.
He cast a minor healing spell on himself, but it was only enough to bring his arm back under control, not to rid him of the pain. It closed enough to stem the flow of blood, but it ached and he could not move it without wincing from the sharp pain that assaulted him.
"I'm out of psyenergy. Those two times that I summoned my chariot were too much, I guess."
He shrugged to Maxwell and winced again. He pulled out a psyenergy star from his belt pouch and ate it. He cast one more spell on himself, fully closing his wound and ridding him from the pain. He looked around to find that all three of the other opponents were being taken care of, but it wasn't going fast enough. Noticing that Leer was having some trouble fighting the whale-thing, he motioned to Maxwell, "You help take care of the dragon. Don't go near the phoenix. Have some one else engage the phoenix. We need a mercury adept to do something about it!"
With that, he summoned a pillar from the ground and ascended to the top of the ravine, where Leer battled.
He pulled out Helios. Rage and Titan were still very active, but Artica had faded. He didn't need the extra speed. Rage gave him enough of an energy boost so that he could make a quick close on the two combatants.
He stopped short and planted his feet, then he heaved Helios back and like a massive coil, he unwound and snapped Helios toward the thing. End over end, Helios spun. It connected solidly with the massive creature's body, but it didn't seem to notice. He summed his magical warhammer back to his hands and released it again.
The same outcome; no reaction to the blunt weapon's impact. It was focusing on throwing Leer off, but it's blubbery body was able to soften the hammer's impact enough so that it did not harm the thing.
Kassion shrugged and, once again, put Helios in its holster. He picked up Edarum and took out the Sword of Death. He charged the thing and was nearly crushed as it thrashed his way, just missing him as he dove down under its floating body. On his back and unable to stand with the beast above him, he started hacking away at its underside, spilling nasty and unknown fluids from it. The thing let out a howl of pain and continued thrashing.
Instead, this time it quickly moved away from Kassion and made a scorching water spout erupt right beneath him.
Kassion, used to heat, was not harmed, but he was disoriented and did not pursue for the moment.
He moved away from the spout and cleared his eyes. The thing was moving to the other side of the ravine to get away from him. It was moving towards the dragon and the phoenix!
He sprinted forward and lept atop the thing just as they passed over the lip of the ravine. He slammed Edarum into its side and then sliced the death blade in to further secure his grip. Though, when he did, the blade began to glow a bright green, again.
It hit him then, that the Sword of Death had a similar effect to Edarum; it drained it opponent's life-force. But, this blade also redirected its stolen life-force into the blade, making it more deadly in every aspect.

Then, he went along for the ride as it tumbled across the ravine.

((Poor quality post for today. sad ))

~Poseidon Deck, Makko's Perspective~

"Heh, even on the water you Venus guys can still be of help."

"Yea, as long as we got the material, we can do something with it. But looking at it, I think I should let the sailors take care of the mess so they won't be bored."

Makko stopped and looked into the horizon.

"Man...I hope we're not late for whatever battle the Elder planned..."

~Portal Entrance, Isaac's Perspective~

"I can see you are very sensitive to the movements of Psynergy around you. Good or you."

The Jupiter Master then turned around to speak with the other Jupiter Adept.

"To answer your second question, because I am assuming that the first was rhetorical, I do not know what Kassion plans on doing, but I do have a clue as to what it is as it is probably very much like mine. What would you have us do? Wait for the threat to come back out? Maybe being down there with Kassion will help Matt see my viewpoint. And in the long run, maybe the fights that are happening down there will make the evils come out. They are just a little bit weaker when they are up here."

"Hm...I'm no expert on the demonic world, but I believe by having them come to us, at least we'll have a home side advantage. If each master falls fighting within the demonic world, then what will become of Weyard?"

The Elder spent a minute collecting his thoughts.

"Whatever the case, it is lucky that I have sent for the Mercury Master, Hiro, to set sail to this region awhile ago. However, I'm not sure if he'll arrive on time to join the others within the portal. Perhaps you could retrieve him with your Jupiter winds?

He then reached into his robe and opened his palm to reveal the Venus Star.

"Master Strider entered the portal before I could hand him this, so could you give it to him on my behalf?"

~Demon World, Matt's Perspective~

"GET YOUR OWN!"

Following his strike, Iden came from behind and blanketed the air with [Ice Missiles]. When the flurry cleared up, Iden could clearly be seen on the dragon's back.

"Aren't you the grateful one."

The dragon was already gaining height, putting Iden in the same situation Matt was back when he was fighting the Phoenix.

"Real smooth there. Unless you want me to kill you along with the dragon, I suggest you get off it."

"Aye, can't risk something like [Ragnorok]. Don't want to end up splitting that Mercury guy by collateral damage or something. Can't use [Quakes] or [Gaias] because the thing is off the ground...Well, the dude's going to feel a bit nauseous after this, but I can't think of anything else in this position..."

Matt then tapped into Ground's psyenergy. The Djinn then floored the dragon in a similar fashion when Matt used [Pound], only the dragon was expecting to dodge a psyenergy fist rather than gravitational force.

"Man, I'm sure it's possible for Venus Adepts to utilize psyenergy to alter gravity if a Venus Djinn can do it..."

"Get off the stinking dragon!"

Matt signaled for Iden to move out of the way as he gathered enough psyenergy to use [Odyssey].
PostPosted: Mon May 12, 2008 8:06 pm

Looking over at the dragon, he nodded, and jumped back onto the bone and flesh dragon he commanded, and hurtled at high speed towards it. Before he could reach it though, it was slammed into the ground. Blinking a few times, he took this chance and gathered enough energy to cast a healing psynergy for each person that began this little journey. Focusing, a bright blue flame appeared around everybody, closing up their wounds, and rejuvinating them, much like the other psynergy spells, such as Wish would do, except adding more stamina.
"There...now...onto damage control."

Solana started at what the elder was suggesting.

"Take a blessed object like an Elemental Star into the cursed Demon realm is suicide!" Solana's mouth gaped as she thought of the repercussions that taking an Elemental Star into the other world would do.

"First of all, taking the Elemental Star down there would weaken the Star itself. Secondly, the person holding one would just become a bigger target for the demon creatures who feed off of the elemental powers." Solana shook her head.

"I could go down there, I only hope I came in enough time. Time differs greatly in the demon realm than it does here. And it is never the same. It could easily be two weeks down there while it is two hours up here. Or a day passes here and only two pass there. However, I cannot get down into the other realm since I do not posses the ability to create another portal or the open the one already present. I do not have that much power over earth and minerals like the Venus or Mars adepts do." Solana finally paused in her speech to look at her new apprentice.

"You could be of help to me right now. Get yourself armed as well as lightly outfitted with armor." Solana turned to the Elder.

"Can my student get armor from you? We have no more in the Jupiter capitol, nor do I carry extra sets with me." Solana again waited for the response of the Elder.

Mortimer sat down on the railing of the ship looking down on the Venus ambassador. "So, whats the real reason you need all these ships. It can't just be because of lonely pirates raiding your shores, I'm sure your own ships could handle that. These war ships are ment for war, hence the name, so who are you fighting? The Mars clan like usual or some one different?

Eira smiled at the though of following Lady Solana into battle. Even with the fear she had of death on the battlefield, she was excited to finally put all of her training into action. She waited to be led to the armory. She was not going to get lost in a strange camp with a bunch of men surrounding her.

((Woo, first post in ages! I'm bringing the RP back!))

~Poseidon Deck, Makko's Perspective~

"So, whats the real reason you need all these ships. It can't just be because of lonely pirates raiding your shores, I'm sure your own ships could handle that. These war ships are ment for war, hence the name, so who are you fighting? The Mars clan like usual or some one different?"

Makko shook his head.

"Honestly, I'm not too sure of the reason why the Elder called for your ships. He assured me that it's not purely for the purpose of fighting against the Mars Clan, and that we'll need the aid of you Mercurians in the battle to come. Cryptics words eh?"

~Portal Entrance, Isaac's Perspective~

The Elder mused at what Solana suggested may happen in the case the Elemental Star is taken through the Demonic realm.

"Hm...I wonder...then I shall keep the star here.

The Elder then motioned for a nearby guard to come by.

"Yessir!"

"Would you mind escorting our fellow Jupiter Adepts to the armory? They are free to pick any item of their choice."

The guard then led the two Jupitarian (XD) ladies through the winding mess of makeshift tents to the armory. Or more appropriately, the pile of unused weapons and armor. In the times of war, and in a camp with such an amount of soldiers, most of the weapons were kept by the soldiers themselves. However, the brigades still traveled with blacksmiths and storages for emergency reasons. Although most of the weapons were standarized and lacked any enchantments, there were still some neatly organized racks which contained the top grade weapons and armor, available only with permission from the generals.

"So...when am I going to get out of here?"

Lance was still around, but still stuck. While waiting for Solana and her apprentice, the Elder continued pondering of the situation at hand.

"Well, I certainly didn't expect Master Kinshou to still keep you within the Chariot even when he's within the Demon Realm. His grasp over it certainly has weakened, however."

"That's great. Because I think I need to use the restroom."
