It's In media res storytelling...where you thrust the main protagonist into the middle of an already volatile situation.... The rest, the virus/biological agent, etc was explained throughout, and it was surmised by one of the characters that the island was being quarantined, perhaps even until everyone was dead. What was it specefically that was confusing though? I was confused cause I didn't know what it was about and people were talking. Its a zombie movie. But the people weren't dead...so it's not a zombie movie. Its a zombie movie, not all zombies start off being dead. Dude, unless they died and then came back to life and tried to eat you, they weren't zombies.

I'm not saying the problem wasn't caused by a virus, cause it was. I'm saying that in order for those people to be considered zombies, they had to die and then become re-animated.

It was, because they DIED after they got infected, the people in 28 Days Later didn't die after they were infected, unless somebody killed them.

It can't be classified as a ZOMBIE movie unless there are ZOMBIES in it. It was more of a horror/gore flick than a zombie movie.

but vil puts up a good point, they didnt die before they got infected, but as soon as they turned, they were dead.
