Yeah, it is a little difficult. It seems that all the info isn't here, it's just been swept under... I may just have to change topics, again.

I have my first test for chem in three weeks I think. I'm not worried though, chem is my best subject 3nodding It always helps when it is open book... wink

So you said you're doing arts/science... how does the history major tie in with the chem major?

I could try and help you with biology if you like. 3nodding I'm doing two biol subjects at the moment, being cell and molecular biology, and human biology (anatomy/physiology). Although, your best bet for help would be Eino. 3nodding He's super smart, and is always able to help me. I'm sure he'd do the same for you. 3nodding

Yeah, I didn't think they releated tightly. Those would be interesting careers to get into... so the choice was more an interest rather than a strict career-minded decision?

I do agree, there is a lot to take in with biol subjects. It is quite different to chem. With chem, you learn your rules and concepts and it's alright. However, in biol there are so many definitions to learn... sweatdrop For this reason, I find biol takes up most of my time.

When I chose my courses, I did it with the career in mind. I knew what I wanted to do, so I looked into it and found the best possible course to do and applied. Sure I could have just done the single B. forensic science, but doing the criminology and criminal justice degree would help in the job, so I chose to do it. I didn't do any sort of social science classes at school, so it is a bit different to anything I am used to. However, I think the extra qualification will be an asset for my future. 3nodding

I did like history though... I actually went better in it than I did in chemistry... sweatdrop So much to the point that they put me up a grade after year eight... However, when it came to year ten and I wanted to go up to senior, they wouldn't let me because I wasn't "mature minded enough" to cope with the workload, so I quit completely after they forced me to do another year ten standard history unit. xp

Yeah, it's best to pick what you go well in I guess. 3nodding As long as you enjoy it as well. xd

We had the choice of either taking straight sose, or history, or geography in year nine and ten. I skipped year nine history and went into year ten. It was good, and relatively easy. xp

In queensland, there is a specific number of semesters of each subject you have to do. For sose subjects, you must complete them up until halfway through year ten. Although by the end of year nine, I'd exceeded the standard of that required, I hadn't met the minimum number of semester units. So, they put me into another year ten standard unit. It took me one and a half years to finish year ten history because of it... sweatdrop

Also with science, I started chemistry and biology early because I'd finished junior science early like you did for sose. I started senior biology and senior chemistry halfway through year ten. 3nodding Although, when I had to do my senior timetabling, the subjects didn't fit so I had to repeat them to fit in my other subjects... (chinese and dance only had one class available, which clashed with my chemistry and biology). crying crying crying crying That was really upsetting.

However, last year I had the option of starting uni early, so I took it. I did a chemistry unit part-time at UQ. 3nodding I really should have claimed credit on it this year, but I couldn't be bothered. I wanted to repeat it, just so that I can get a really really good grade. It wouldn't hurt to brush up on it anyway... three months is a long time for me.

Did you have any of these sorts of options down in Melbourne, or is it just a weird thing that we do in Brisbane?

No? What the hell, that sounds so confusing. Did you go to a private school by any chance? In years 7 and 8 we weren't allowd to pick our subjects, then in years 9 and 10 we could, and each subject we did would only be done for one semester, and that was it. There was never anything about "you need to do this and this before you can do this in year 11." We were the only graded offered year 11 subjects in year 10 because of our title as the 'Advanced Class' which just meant it had the smartest people from the year level. That's all.

Mystic - I only have 3 hour labs, and most of them don't even go that long, so it's all good anyway. blaugh

I enjoy my lab time as well, also granted I don't get hungry. I usually eat a big lunch before-hand so that I don't; which will be usefull for next weeks Biology prac, becasue we're looking at Rhubarb cells, about their vacuol and osmosis (just practicing my knowledge).
