Naga didn't budge at the child's attacks. Instead she stood in place. The whelps words were more than just hurtful, they were the truth. She had a talon in the end of mankind. Though now she had the means to try and fix things before going fully under. "Oh prince of kin, forgive me for what I do, but it was at your mate's request. She wished ever so to be your equal. I seek a new replacement, for I am a danger. No matter how much my Mance may say it I am a tyrant... and soon will spread more dread upon this realm." Her voice was weak as she stared up into the child's eyes. There only hate dwelled. A tool in the long run, but for how much longer?
Her head turned away to face Turas. His life force fading ever so quickly, yet her own magic was too weak to aid him. Why did his blood stain her talons? Was this her place in the world now? "I-I'm too weak...." naga muttered. Yet before any could react something large rammed into her. Hissing, naga turned to face the woman who dared strike her. "Human you dare strike me, what on earth has possessed you?!"
Spitting at the ground below, yo stepped forward. Coiled about her waist was a large serpent. Though much smaller compared to the basilisk used to fight Aki. "You are the most pathetic excuse for a god I have ever known." Searching her bags for a vial, yo walked passed the confused Mance and pressed hard onto naga with her foot. "I spent my entire life being told how wise you are, but all you do is harm families. Instead of admitting faults for both your actions you BOTH blame yourselves." Her foot pressed harder onto the woman's chest. Bending over she scooped a bit of her blood into the vial.
"Pathetic, you sit upon a throne claiming to be losing everything when you initiated it. Your claws struck your whelps. You refused to hear my calls, claiming everything would be okay! Is it mistress, is it really okay? My people are enslaved to a mad man. Your daughter has been slayed, while the other roams the land in fear!" Yo kept with mental barrage. The deep red tattoo about her eyes began to glow as she knelt down to the no longer fighting woman. "You fear death, yet allow your own family to be slaughtered. Sit on that throne and rot, for you are no broodmother."
Apart of her wished to tear this insolent human apart, the other wanted to crawl in a hole. Why was Mance allowing this to happen? This human could very well kill her. "I-I...I know of my failures you worm!" She yelled. Tears began to flow once more as the memories tormented her. Why was this wretch doing this? "You were trained to aid us, to serve and protect us. So why are you att-"
"To fulfill my purpose." Yo stated softly as she ran the vial up her cheek to catch a few tears. Corking it, she began to shake it until the golden liquid mixed with the tears. The solution began to glow. This would've been ugil'S wet dream to have such blood in his possession. "Quintessence is a powerful thing, if used for power it can potentially grant eternal life, along with the strength of a thousand men. Thus damning them to lose their minds. Though if it is used for good it can bring one back from the brink of death." Her eyes gazed over towards Mance, who seemed to know a bit more than he let on. It was cute how he tried to hide the darkness from her.
Magic had a certain aura about it, and by bringing this new pawn to the playing field revealed to her all she needed to know. This was the dragon she foresaw freeing her people, and most importantly Konoe's magic reeked off his person. Along with another, more warped magic. It must have belonged to the evil that would blanket the other land. Still she was ever thankful to the beast. With a warm smile she nodded up at morva before retreating to Turas's side. Kneeling down onto the grass she lifted the giant's head. "Come now heir of the earth it is time for you to arise..." before she could finish naga had cut her off.
"Don't you dare child! He deserves this, he is a danger to this land and a traitor to his own mother!" Naga growled as she lunged after Yo. Suddenly a surge of flames erupted from her chest sending her flying back. The woman in question paid no attention yet instead went against orders. The vile wench poured the liquid into Turas's mouth. And soon a bright light over took him. "How dare you... your actions will be... " already tears were flowing nonstop from the green eye as she advanced. The dulled golden one glared into the very soul of yo.
Taking in a deep breath Yo rose. Standing upon her very toes she turned to face the one armed goddess. "This is no longer your whelp, he is now mine. You are unfit to protect any of them and know this. Your soul is splitting and soon you'll be nothing more than a demon." Something which yo feared most of all. Apart of her wished to sacrifice herself to slay the goddess, but it would only harm Mance more. Zihara needed her alive. Yet if naga's mental state continued to deteriorate she'd become nothing more than demon dragon. And this the humans will be at war once more, except against the soulless war dragons that would spawn to her will.
"Naga this is my pack, my family. I find you a threat." The goddess lunged at her, only for Yo to grapple the feral woman and sling her onto the ground. Her back hit with immense force, causing the body to jar. "Both of you contributed in destroying the middle pillar, and instead of fixing it you both hide. While doing so this world corrupts your very soul. Mance... he is... is my mate and I will do something you won't. I will stick by his side, and watch his plans flourish. For I can see what you can't." Placing her knee upon the center of naga's chest, yo began to gaze into the woman's eyes. With a heavy sigh she placed her hand upon the beast's temple. Allowing her magic to flow through naga.
"I know what you doomed him to, but I swear my soul will walk this winding road about his side." Yo's eyes narrowed as she lifted her hand. Away from her face, revealing two green eyes. "I will fix what you broken... even if it takes me a thousand years. Those shackles will be broken." Turning back to Turas she noticed his chest starting to move. Thank the heavens the boy was finally breathing. "Say your goodbyes to Tikal and leave this land..." she stated coldly. It was for the better all of them at this point.

What Mance did not understand was why she was not tapping his magic. This was why he had taken the form he had, to regain his powers. Had she forgotten she could feed off his quintessence and use it to power her own magic? Had it been truly that long since he had been killed or did she not want to save the whelp and hope he believed her. His resentment at her refusal to every try, grew within but it seemed it would never find voice as something attacked Naga. Growling he turned, the growl quickly dying as the attacker appeared to be Yo.
Already he knew Yo had been magically exhausted by what she had done for Tikal, yet once again she stood against something far more powerful. He flinched when Yo spoke, it was a valid point. Observing her actions he studied every movement, planning on interfering if Naga shifted to attack her, though it seemed the Goddess lacked the strength for that. As Yo continued to speak of what Naga had done after his passing, he wondered what had transpired between the two women. So Zihara was awake and alive! Quite possibly unguarded and alone, his eyes turned to Naga, fighting to suppress his anger at her. He had almost half risen to leave Naga to Yo, to depart and find his daughter - the scent of her tears made him remain.
When Yo began to speak of the Quintessence it pulled him from his thoughts. she was more then worthy of the title she carried. How willingly was it given though? That was the key to the safest and most potent solutions. Ugil was using Tikal's by force, taken purely to feed his lust for power; like the many fools who he used to achieves his ends. Except for maybe the white haired child, she was different. He watched idly as Yo used the vial, for a moment protecting his adopted whelp from passing.
That scent, the one from his death, it returned! Snarling, he pulled the magic together, he was not fast enough. "It was you!" He breathed as he looked into her eyes, one the soft green of his beloved the other the golden eye that he remembered from his death. "How long..." It sickened him, the insanity had grown so powerful it was consuming her just as his own did to him. So many more questions without answers. The ground under them had begun to darken, if need be he would interfere between them. Neither could be harmed any further, both were too weak for a fight whether they admitted it or not.
Why he did not speak out was beyond him, maybe because he understood what was happening and was taken aback by the fact Yo issued the challenge; wittingly or unwittingly hardly mattered. She was laying the claim on Turas, invoking the broodmother right, being the Guardian without title once more. When Naga lunged for her, Mance could not interfere with the struggle. Yo ended it with a decisive victory. In one motion this elder human had dethroned a Goddess and clearly earned her place at his side.
Her words broke his train of thought, nearly allowing Morva to finish what Yo had begun - the whelp would not be satisfied with her banishment, he wanted repayment in blood. Did she not understand what she was damning herself too if she followed though with her words? If anything happened to her physical shell, if she was killed while he was still cursed, she would never be allowed to pass on - to be reunited with her whelps and Tikal. To be forever damned to his nothingness in the place he called the Morass, to roam its endless plains of torture. After a lifetime of servitude to them, that could not be her fate if a mistake was made.
The dragon rose, looking down at his defeated mate. Everything had been taken from her. Perhaps it was partly his fault for murdering Gaia, it was her that imprisoned him and damned him, by allowing the insanity to win. "Listen to her... Tikal was your whelp as well as mine." He stepped forward, towering over the tiny human below him. "No longer will you harm our whelps or our people unchallenged. What the insanity has done is create nothing but endless strife in the name of false justice. Just as mine will consume these lands in endless bloodlust." His talons furrowed the earth below him once more, "I understand now, it wasn't you that killed me... I absolve you of your guilt... I forgive you Naga... Now go." If she moved against Yo he would attack, the day he was killed was the day their mateship ended: they would forever be enemies now.

"Mance she is a human, a damned human! You sit back doing nothing as she belittles me! Me, your one true!" Naga snarled as she attempted to stand up once more, only to fall back due to exhaustion. Such weakness, it was strange and infuriating. "Mance you have a shell! You can come back to me! Things can go back to how they were. Why waste your time with this... this ancient human! She probably has a damn good year left in her, so why suffer more loss!" Snarling she slowly stood once more. This time with more success than the last.
"I will not accept this! You, you hate them! Look what they did to you, they use you! For... for power!" Naga's heart kept pounding harder and harder as she stared up at the man she once loved. That look, it was all to familiar. Grappling her head with her remaining hand the mighty goddess fell to her knees. Over and over she kept muttering the word no. Trying her hardest to make sense of it all. "You... you have one that will wait for you... yet there is no true forgiveness for me." She couldn't bare to lift her head. To see his position, his resolution, it hurt too much.
Slowly she got to her feet and limped away from them. Her wings covering her wounded body as if it was a giant blanket. Blood trickled along the way. Yet she continued forward until she reached her beloved daughter. With surprising strength she slammed her head into monument. Allowing her blood to seep into its stone. "I was the worst of mothers... I still am... you never got to live the life we envisioned. The life we wanted you to live... oh Tikal..." why didn't she come? This was not justice, this was not righteousness. It would have been easy to save her. "No word can describe how sorry I am. Tikal... please find peace within the next life." Stepping back from the statue naga began to shift.
Her hide still had large gashes or places of exposed muscle from the missing hide. Yet the goddess did not retreat like Yo commanded. Instead she curled up around the statue. With that she laid their, nuzzling something she once treasured more than anything.
Yo, however, didn't say anything. She was right in those regards. No matter how well magic had kept her body, the grim reaper still hung ever so close. "I pity her... she chose to push any help away, and this is the creature that is left." To didn't go to her aid when she injured herself. Instead she stood by Mance. "Do you wish to hear a terrible secret... we'll the truth?" She watched the sorrowful lover turn his massive head. His wide violet eye stared down upon her.
"Soon... her soul will shatter, the demon within will take her. Already it has begun to warp her. I fear that she don't have much longer." With a heavy sigh, yo rested against the back leg of the mighty dragon. "When that happens I fear dearly for this land... just as I fear what you are becoming." Her eyes never left the broken goddess. Instead she studied her from afar, observing just how far the poor soul has sunk. "The original flow of time has been broken... new paths have been made. Some for the better, and some for the worst." Yo did what had to be done. Exiling the goddess would bring her great pain, but it would keep Zihara safe. The whelp however, he would forever be enslaved to that beast. "My love... she bares the same hell as you."
"Though she is right... no longer am I that spring bird. Magic can do amazing things, but it can only halt aging for so long. With my death, you might lose yourself. But in it, I can find a way to save you." Yo gazed up at her newly required mate. She new full well many millennia would pass before such a thing could occur. But what was time? It was merely something created by the living, in death there was no such thing.

His eyes narrowed as Naga yelled at him, lashing out in fear and pain. Ever so quietly he spoke, "things can never be as they were. I am imprisoned, forced to leech off our descendants, to be subjected to the whims of man. I can never ever return to you... because I can never be freed." His talons dug into the earth again as his head pulled back as if struck. "How can things be the way they were? Tikal is dead. The shell I inhabit is straining at its shackles to regain what is his; to end your existence to ensure you do not harm his mate... What about your disciple Naga? Would you abandon her, allow her to suffer the imbalance you are because I occupy her mate's shell?" He exhaled, there was no going back, he knew that the day she executed him.
He watched her struggle to come to terms with what was going on. "And who gave them such power to command me? Who supplied them with the weapons to kill and imprison our kind?" Eventually, she recovered from her shock and looked at him - his hatred long replaced by pity now; how she had fallen from grace, consumed by the same demons that dined upon his fragile sanity. She staggered off and for a moment the urge to protect her rose within him, his talons loosened from the earth but, he remained rooted in place, the scent of her blood tickled his nose as he silently snarled, fighting himself once more. He turned when she shifted, tensing. Even as she curled around the carving, he knew if a fight broke out there was a strong possibility she would win against this shell.
It was the voice of Yo that turned his head away, looking down to her. "I am aware... Once lovers, forever now enemies, always at odds." Again he sighed, paying especial attention to where Yo was against this form. "I know." He growled, the talons once again rending the earth. "We should... We are nothing more then a danger to this world, for not even that nothingness can restrain us... That insanity." The snarl from the dragon, the dilation of the eye, the looming darkness. "I can halt it forever... As long as I choose. Once I have my true form again, I can banish that reaper that dares prey upon you. You have no need to fear, so much of my powers lay untapped." He blinked and lowered his head. "Perhaps, you may no longer be a spring sapling, but are not the most mighty and beautiful trees the ones that display their autumn colours before the restful winter?"
In his eyes, Yo had as many autumns ahead of her as she wished. He would halt the winter until it was its time to arrive. "You know where my body was sealed away. After this threat is disposed of, I will reclaim what is mine and you... You will be free to reign at my side, however it pleases you. We can reclaim our homeland and leave the forsaken underworld she damned us to!"
Yet, the darkness whispered to him. 'Then why did you kill Huinarin and Meadur? Was that not their goal too? You set them up to fail...'
Blinking, he looked away to Turas. "What next? It would be unwise to return within this form. Though I could easily end the threat with this form, I feel you know a great deal more then you are choosing to reveal at present. I believe you know that you may be able to draw quintessence from me to recover your magic." He was deeply concerned about the adopted whelp, what Naga would do to him, what they had done to him... Was it right? The fight from his descendant and his lust to kill Naga was such a nagging annoyance. How it frustrated him, leaving Yo and her whelp unguarded. "Tell me something. His mate is your whelp... The one from your memory. I saw that look when I summoned the shell, as if you learned something you did not suspect but, it brought some relief." If what he assumed was correct, then his plans had changed for the time being.

Yo couldn't help but to blush. Needless to say Mance was the first person to ever compliment her in such a manner. It was all too flattering, though it was even cuter that he thought she feared death. "My dear... why fear something as common as man itself? Especially for me." Apart of her wished he had his own shell. Instead of borrowing that of which doesn't belong to him. Yet it meant little. "Magic, it doesn't disappear in death... it flourishes, thrives, and empowers." Smiling she gazed up at the ever changing eyes.
The struggle for control was all too real. Upon the slightest of cracks, the other would break free. Thus thrusting its anger upon them. "My soul, and magic will thrive all throughout time. Existing in those I deem worthy, allowing me to learn from and nurture those to come. Through the future generations, your child... I shall find the way to free you. To bring down what you fear." His scales were oddly comfortable. Before the stubborn bag of scales could retort, yo held her hand out to him. "I'm far too old to bare children. You missed your chance by twenty some years I'm afraid." She gave the softest of sighs.
Apart of her wished to take him up on that offer. To exist forever from the bounds of time, but such a fate would damn them both. At least the way he wanted to go about it. Her spirit had to be freed from the shell. To walk a different path was needed no matter how much it hurt. "Dearest, one day I will be the wind that blows. The spark that ignites your flame... and the rain that pelts your hide. My spirit will forever be yours...my love won't die, nor will it ever give up. One day, you will realize that." She gave the faintest of smiles. Though once more she denied partaking in the quintessence. No matter ehow much he wished for it, or to change the subject matter.
Taking in a deep breath, yo gave her lover the slightest of nods. "You are correct. He is... they both are the saviors of this land. At least that is what I have foreseen. The giant black dragon, and his rider swoop in. Raising a mighty army to combat Ugil and his loyalists... so much bloodshed, but all necessary to save the rest." Yo lowered her head once more. Wondering what would become of her daughter? She had seen so much, but everything had changed from before. "My beloved, you have plans for this shell... the magic... it reeks from his hide. You are dwelling deep into the darkness, harassing it for power." His magic was used to torture this one. That madness that engulfed the previous mate, it was truly with him too.
Sighing softly Yo gazed down into the dirt. Studying it for the longest time before looking up once more. "I need them my love, without them Ugil's reign will go unchallenged. His strength is already growing... day by day I fear for this land. For Zihara... if his assassins were to get a hold of her..." Yo's body began to shake violently. The thought of poor zihara going through the same hell as her sister. It narrowly made her. "You have plans, but if you want our daughter to be safe. Then I need them, please Mance free him from the shackles for now. Allow them to free us from this plague. In return I'll give you anything you desire." Ever so gently her hand ran against th rough scales of the beast. "Please my love..."

"It does not have to be common! You are not them." He interjected, his voice growing tense. Looking towards her he blinked, it seemed his outburst was forgiven as she continued to explain. "Yes that is true but-" pausing he studied the determination in her eyes and the love in them, something he never thought he would see again. How desperately he wanted to keep her safe from harm. "Pardon?" Confusion reigned for a moment in his mind, did she believe he would risk her life in such a manner? "I would not risk your life, not like that, no." His frustration and fear rising at her words.
"No. No you wont!" He snarled, the only reason he did not move was her resting against him. "You will pass to the plains where I can never follow, just like Tikal and all the others! While I remain damned to roam between the plains..." His talons dug deep into the earth once more, "I can't lose you too... Like everyone else. Please." The thought of losing her and the damnation she would suffer if she remained without passing on... It was bad enough Naga would soon know this torture, it would be unforgivable of Yo was to be damned likewise.
As Yo continued, Mance's fears only continued to grow. If only things were different, if only he was not bound by the curse Naga had placed upon him so long ago now. When she shook,he wanted nothing more then to pull her close and promise her safety and security, to put down the threat of Ugil and allow her and her whelps, Zihara, and eventually even his descendant to know peace once more. "It is not that simple." He began, sighing softly as he looked away from her. "In our homeland, has already engulfed us. Stirred perhaps by my own talon, fed upon by a few war mongering humans, the land runs red with the blood of thousands. This shell, will be used against the righteous - the Black Rider against the Silver General, only one will survive while the armies of chaos and freedom fight below... Yet in the wings my Apprentice will flourish and grow, for the years after the war will be hers to reign."
His tail tip gently touched her cheek, allowing her to see his Apprentice - the white haired child with the flint eyes. "The last disciple of darkness, her mount the brother of this shell, imprisoned in the shell of their ancient enemies. Her reign of terror will change the balance of time itself, through her our kind will be freed to return to the surface world where we belong." How powerful that child would become in due course.
"This shell is bound right now to the King of Daein, the fool believes he can challenge the Guardian and her mate with an imprisoned and shattered Dark Dragon." He chuckled softly as he showed her the shell chained and bound to the stone structure, with two men standing before it; Alistar carving ruins into the beast's muzzle. "He is a fool if he believes this one can be fully bound to him. No amount of my power can fully imprison a soul for more then a short period unless the host is willing. The Silver General is the child of Konoe, whom he considers his mate. One taste of the whelp's blood and my powers will unravel, such magic even I cannot stop."
He looked back at her. "What you have seen, will come to pass without my interference. So long as Konoe is as powerful as I believe her to be. Having brought the shell here, felt his feelings for your whelp... I strongly believe they will survive this prelude to madness and fulfill the destiny you foresaw for them. I will be banished back into the darkness for having failed the pact but, will have my tendrils on this plain with my Apprentice and this shell... Until some fool like the King of Daein summons me back again." He lowered his head, the bitterness of leaving her though rankled deep within him.
"For the moment, it is not mine to give. Twas it, I would. The curse bars me from it and the rituals have long been completed. If Konoe's whelp is unsuccessful, then mankind will become extinct in my homeland as my people have little mercy left for their oppressors. If Konoe is felled by the madness, I fear for your homeland... and for you and Zihara." A lot rested on Konoe and Tristan so very suddenly. "How do I keep you both safe..." Without his form, they both were in the greatest of dangers. Yet the madness of Ugil concerned him greatly. "Strange. For the second time in my existence I know the taste of fear." Everything was escalating too quickly and he wondered if it would be necessary use the white haired child, in order to protect those he loved.

"Please... I've seen more than just that my love. The madness will overcome you once more... forcing your talons." Placing her hand upon the tail, she allowed an image to pop forth. It was an unsettling image of a broken down Tristan bleeding out in a sitting position. The blood shimmered brightly in the darkness as the light faded from his eyes. "That magic you gave to the humans will continue to grow, causing those who dared to misuse it to grow insane." Yo closed her eyes. Apart of her could hear the cackling of lord ugil. The laugh made her utterly sick, yet it forever haunted her memory.
"The child... the silver haired maiden... you invest a lot of time into her. Your methods... they are inhumane, but effective for making a monster." A part of her felt sorry for the poor thing. How she had to suffer for her lovers madness. "If she was left under my care I bet she could surpass me by fifteen." Taking in a deep breath, yo withdrew a scroll from her side and peered into it. "I can't condone what you do to the child, but she needs to learn the ways of this land and not some weak country." Lifting her free hand up to her mouth, she took a small bite out of her thumb. Holding the injured finger over the scroll she allowed the blood to drop into it.
Unlike the rest, it remained dormant. "Mance... I will support you. This scroll, it is a projection of my magic yet in solid form. Use it to teach her how to fight a real foe. Once beaten, she'll know her worth. Only the strong survive in this world. That is what our ways have taught us, and something she must learn herself." Mance seemed to be staring at the scroll. "Don't worry, it will only activate when she places her blood onto it. Then it is bound to her until she dismisses it. We used it for our students, before being killed they'll dismiss it. The weak learn through this, learning that more errors mean sure death. That or at the very least she'll learn how to use a damn sword properly." Yo stated with the weakest of smirks.
"You doubt Konoe too much by the way... she was my top student. A true prodigy to not only healing magics, but also with the naginata. She may poses the goddess's magic, but she has years of training behind it. Even if she chose not to follow my path, she is still strong enough... no she is far more powerful now, she can control it." Apart of her wished to speak to the dragon kin who claimed her daughter's heart. To see what kinda person truly hid underneath those scales. After all, konoe's last mate turned out to be a damned sociopath.
Smiling her gaze turned toward the old goddess. Pity, the beast looked absolutely lost in this world. Yet she dug her grave, just as Mance. Sadly for her, there was nobody to save her. Loneliness, who would've guessed that'd be the cause of the fall of the dragons. Still at least the kin had a chance. "Say what you will, but if I know one thing about my daughter... it's that she's too devoted for her own good." Closing her eyes she began to ponder on what Mance had stated earlier. How konoe' magic was strong enough to bring his spirit back I got this world. A part of her wondered the purpose behind it; yet the other knew it far too well.
"Mance... I believe my daughter wishes to help the kin... and maybe she's just the human to do it." Gazing back up at the man, she continued to ponder on what to say. After all, she was only fitting the pieces together. Seeing how even the goddess sacrificed a arm to bestow power upon her fixed itself nicely into the grand puzzle. "You won't release this one from your service yet... this is something I can... tolerate." A part of her wished he'd simply release him to her. To allow them to fulfill their destinies. Sadly that would have to wait. "If I may ask one last thing, allow this one to bring a tribe with him. It'll be the first start in freeing your people from the chains that bind them." Just like their ancestors, they too will make the journey here in hopes of freedom.
Placing her hand once more onto the the hide of Morva, she began to think. Finally a white glow pushed forward from her palm. It was a soothing feeling as a foreign voice called out to its soul,"Prince of the Kin, I thank you... my daughter will be in good hands. Though I must warn how much of a handful she can be.... always remember, that her heart is in the right place." There was much she wanted to say, but little she could. To tell him too much would throw his interest away from such a dangerous land. They needed them both. To save this land, and to bring back an ancient kind that had long served their punishment. "I look forward in your arrival. To see my daughter once more... if the legends of a Kin's loyality is true, then she has found a mate more than worthy to rule beside her."

"It was never meant for them." He growled softly as he looked over to Naga for a mere moment. Humans would never be able to fully grasp the sheer magnitude of what his power could accomplish... Yet, beside him rested the human that surely was the closest to perfection in accomplishing the balance of both magics. His apprentice on the other talon, would truly become the human embodiment of his insanity. Once his people were restored to their proper place, her usefulness would be over and she would be disposed of and he would finally be free. "Indeed she will become one... The only one." His gaze returned to Yo, curious as to what she was doing, the scent of her blood raised his hackles but, he made no motion to stop her.
He listened to her, staring for a long moment at the scroll. He did not doubt his Apprentice's ability to handle whatever Yo's magic would create, it was the fear that was wrapping around his heart for his newest mate; did she truly understand she was damning an entire continent to slaughter? That eventually it was possible his Apprentice may have to come to this land to finish off mankind? Their whelps may end up in one final dual and only one would be walking away. "Thank you." He said quietly, his magic enveloping the scroll when she was finished before it vanished.
"How did she learn it?" Mance gently supported Yo with his tail as he shifted to lay down in the grass, doing everything he could to make sure she was comfortable, yet was well aware of where Naga was. "I wonder who she learned that from?" His head resting upon the grass as he observed her, though you could almost swear the dragon flinched at Yo's displeasure. "That will be up to them, up to fate perhaps. Most of our kind would be happier seeing you all slaughtered then retreating from our homeland... Konoe and her whelp are strange ones, few Kin are like their mates." There was intolerance on both sides he knew, humans had a dislike of those they considered lesser beings.
Mance remained calm, feeling what Yo was doing he decided to allow it, hoping it would help protect her in the future. If Morva felt she was a threat to Konoe, he would likely not hesitate to attack her, which would upset his plans. "Tell me something. Having spent your life trying to discover the truth, do you feel you have learned it? I can show you the events leading up to my death, perhaps it may bring you some clarity." He could not help but feel her warmth against his scales, the inner strength she had despite her exhaustion and her determination to make a difference against the odds that were not in her favour. "What if I just took you and your whelp back to our homeland..." He muttered, having control of this form, made such a thing possible suddenly.

"Me damning this country?" She couldn't help but to chuckle. "Please, we're currently under the heel of a madman. What's a silver haired maiden gonna do to us?" That spark in his eye. Clearly she saw more than she was suppose to. Then again, there was more than even she let on. "No, I don't fear her... she will stay within her homeland. Besides, she'll have her hands full there. So why invade a country that's always prepared for war?" Yawning the tired elder rested against him. How odd it was. Scales hard as stone, yet as soft as a cushy mat. "There is another who'll come to this land.... a soul trapped within unearthly armor, a child of utter darkness conceived by light.... I will be long gone by the time of his conquest... and sadly so will you." It pained her to say it. She knew all too well what her death would do.
An heir so powerful, it could shake the very foundation of this continent. She seen it within the fractures. Either it was a time of piece, or a time where war was ever present. Sometimes she saw a red haired child, with eyes of emerald, battling within the pits. No more than thirteen and already mastering the arts of magic. Other times she'd see the armored one with six shadows at his tail; the raven, the lion, the cat, the raptor, the hawk, and finally the human. Each with the ability to tear through armies with raw power alone. This new future, she wondered whether or not if it was truly for the best. For when one dark lord falls, another would take its place.
Still a vision of the heir was both horrifying, and the same relaxing. Maybe it could be the key to saving Mance. One that truly understood the darkness. A part of her cursed her age. For she'd be long gone before her eyes could ever set upon the promised child. Then again, she also wondered what the future would tell of the shell's whelps. What promise could they hold, especially if what naga said was true. Would they be the true heirs to this world? A part of her prayed they all see eye to eye. Though she truly doubted it. Then again, maybe with another child of the earth the warring heirs could find true balance.
Regaining focus, yo looked up to see Mance watching her. "Forgive me, I was simply thinking...must have gotten lost within my thoughts." She gave the lightest of chuckles, as her eyes began to close. "To be honest... I would love to know more about your past. To see it with my own eyes. Maybe, not saying I can, but maybe there is a clue to your freedom. All magic can be traced back to a single source... if it won't trouble you too much then I would like to take you up on that offer. Let me bare that cross with you."

The great dragon watched her lost in thought for a while, quite content with the moment. Chuckling softly at her apology, he let her get comfortably settled against him before yawning slightly; how strange it was to be relaxed enough to feel tired. "I believe it is safe enough." He dug his talons deep within the earth, just on the off chance the shell lashed out against the memories. Mance looked back to the resting Yo again, how beautiful and strong this little human was. It was time.
The great dragon roared as the deep purple blue fires consumed everything they touched in a ring around him, blood flowed from the many gashes that littered his body and dripped softly from his jaws. He was looking down at the tiny, quivering whelp below him as a trail of other similar sized corpses littered the ground around him. The air was heavy with smoke and reeked as if the very earth was burning and liquefying. His bloodstained jaws shot towards the last survivor of the Earth as a beam of light smacked into his muzzle, snapping his jaws shut. With a snarl, he looked to the flames as an eastern dragon emerged, using her magic to protect a large black dragon with slate belly scales and golden eyes.
He watched her for a moment before her jaws and claws ripped into his weakened hide. Laughing softly he let out a pulse of magic, shedding her off like a second skin. "Why have you come? Soon we will be safe, just like I promised." His jaws shot forward, the emerald magic of the black dragon wrapping around his muzzle like a whip and closing them. Growling deep in his throat at the elders insolence he moved forward only to find himself unable to move - the emerald magic had shackled him to the ground. Naga's tail darted forward and scooped up the little earth hatching, keeping him out of range of Mance's next pulse attack.
He panted deeply, the black dragon bleeding from numerous wounds "Why interfere in the wishes of your Lord Elder?" The dark tendrils had reversed the tide while Naga retreated with the whelp. He circled the bound dragon, the ground soft from trying to absorb the blood of the combatants. "Fool, did you fear for your kin? Have I ever made a move to harm our kind? No... I am a protector and I will do what it takes to defend my family." He moved in for the kill when he found his shoulder sliced open by a beam of light from Naga. "You?" He muttered softly as he turned, a massive tendril shooting out of the ground to grab her, "I will not harm you, but I will not have you interfering in my affairs. His crimes against the Lord cannot go unpunished, rebellion will be our reward and then you will only be in greater danger."
His jaws bit into the weakened flesh of the Elder's throat before he felt them being wrenched apart by more magic - Naga had brought reinforcements from the tribe. Snarling at the betrayal, the tendrils holding the Elder began to crush his body, his roar of pain was oddly pleasant to Mance, as he found himself muzzled by the lesser black dragons. Their magic alone hardly enough to restrain him, the white veining within the emerald magic told him that Naga was trying to assist and it was her magic alone that allowed them to restrain him. He thrashed in defiance as the pulsing magic engulfed him and froze him before teleporting him into a cave riddled with Naga's magic. "How could you..." His talons ripped into the runic writing on the wall. This prison, his prison, was not freshly done... How long had she been planning to betray him?
The council has decided it would be unwise to leave you alive after what you have done. The punishment for your near genocide of the earth dragons is death and I will be your executor as there is no one else capable. Tomorrow you will die in the pits. Naga's voice broke harshly into his mind, the first thing he had heard in the darkness of his earthen prison in what felt like forever. How long had it been? Were the whelps safe? He had long given up pacing, his wounds scabbed over and he knew would scar like all the rest had. He hurt so much, so hungry and thirsty but what did that matter now? Tomorrow he would be thrown into the pit to fight Naga one last time - he knew they chose her to face him because of his love for her, he would never kill her. He missed his whelps terribly, would they be safe in the future without him?
It did not even surprise him when the walls liquidized and melted away to reveal the pit around him. He had begun to suspect that his downfall had been planned for sometime now, as if they expected him to slaughter the earth dragons. The pit was nothing more then a massive crater in the earth, though there was a rough magically infused barred ceiling to keep combatants in the pit. Other then some scattered boulders there was no shelter, no where to hide. Across from him stood Naga, waiting as patiently as he had in his days as executioner. Looking up, the council was there, one elder from every tribe as representative and council to the Gods. He noticed their claw picked guards, their magic would only be necessary if he attempted to escape.
His eyes fell to a slimmer Silver dragon, who was she? The way her sapphire eyes followed him, there was a mix of hatred and pity in them. He rose rearing and nearly bumping his head off the ceiling grate as he sniffed. "Where are they?" He growled low at her, understanding her purpose now. "Not here, there is no purpose in them watching your death or their mothers." The silver replied icily, she seemed young enough to have a clutch of her own. Her hide bore tell tale signs of having been though a season or two, curious. Dropping back down he looked to Naga, she seemed to have accepted her role.
"Did you even try?" He snarled, advancing upon her slowly. "Our word is law, not theirs. Why is this foolishness even happening?" She said nothing, coward. "What about our whelps, are they safe?" Again she brooked no reply but, he could sense her magic gaining power. "What have the cowards done to bind you to such a decision! Have they threatened the whelps, you? Tell me!" He was almost upon her now. "There is no need for this, throw aside this judgement and let us return to our den." He was close enough now, her scent was so comforting, it brought back so many good memories of them and their whelps. As Mance relaxed, he looked into her eyes and saw the truth.
"Fear..." Mance said softly, taking Yo's mind from his perspective and to the stands above the pit, where the shell was sitting observing, her body sitting on his head. "She had looked into the heart of darkness, the mind of insanity and watched the destruction of caused by a madman. Would it have stopped with the slaughter of the Earth Dragons or would it have continued until it consumed everything and everyone?" He sighed softly... "I would not come to understand why until later, the disease I had created and unleashed upon the world... unintentionally."
"I will not harm you." He snarled as the two stood muzzle to muzzle, the sounds from above as the council began to get nervous; they wanted it over quickly lest Naga change her word and release such a monster into their domain again. "I want you to honour one request - look after our whelps, protect them and do not judge them because they share my blood. Allow them to grow and flourish and become great in their own respects." Nothing, as expected. The growls of displeasure were growing more pronounced, he grew worried they would turn on Naga for her resistance to act.
Breathing deeply, he exhaled and then lunged for her throat. His jaws closed as gently as possible, not even displacing a scale as her talons ripped deeply into his chest, wrenching his jaws off her throat as her's closed around his and bit, tearing out a chunk. With a howl, his claws tore at the air, lightly tapping off her scales as her attacks responded with the pent up fury of the past few minutes. He did not resist, allowing her to connect with ease and his retaliation the weakest of efforts.
"I promised her I would never harm her... I am aware of my failures... Killing our people harmed her but, at least I was able to resist harming her here. How could I kill their mother Yo... I just could not do it... I do not know..." The shell said as the fight below got bloodier and bloodier on the one side. After several minutes, the dark dragon fell to the ground.
His breaths filled his lungs with a mix of air and fluid now, looking up to the woman he loved as the darkness began to claim him, she said something and he began to feel the magic enter his bones. Then he heard it - "you will never pass on until the all the hatred of mankind is eradicated." Then she turned and walked out of the pit, her task complete. Leaving him alone in his suffering as the world turned dark. How foolishly he assumed that was death...
"And now you know." He said quietly as everything melted away into the present night. He raised his head, looking over to see Naga still curled around the statue marking Tikal's grave. "Just release the curse Naga..." He begged the air softly, knowing it was fruitless. His head settled back into the grass, doing his best to shelter Yo from the breeze.

Closing her eyes, the goddess finally rose. "Sleep well little one... may the stars forever light up your sky." Limping forward the goddess made her way towards both Mance and Yo. He was telling her the story. The story of how she betrayed him. How she single handedly ruined their family. "Dearest... there is more to the story. More than what you believe is there." She understood too well why he was resistant to letting her approach. Ignoring the low bellowed growl, naga rested her head against her other's neck. "Fear... the others used this.... they corrupted our minds. Getting us to slay Gaia was just the beginning. Then turn on one another." Her voice grew weaker as she spoke.
Before yo could say anything, the mighty goddess slipped the tip of her tail around her waist and lifted her up. "You must hear the side of both stories to decipher the truth." Before Mance could threaten her, she placed the tiny human upon his head. "If you can save Mance... save him from my mistakes... I will do anything. Her glistening emerald eyes gazed contently into the new shell of her former lover. "Remember.... remember when I said I loved you... please don't forget." It wouldn't be much longer until her mind was no more. Every passing day her very soul was becoming more and more corrupted.
Yo hated being picked up, but reframed from blasting the goddess's hide. After all, it only took one flick of the tail to end her. So she played along with the goddess. Though this time her magic seemed more tamed than before, maybe this was the real her? "Tell me everything naga. Leave no stone unturned." Yo ordered.
With a heavy heart Naga placed the tip of her head upon the human's forehead, while her own head remained atop the neck of her former lover. "Let's start... with the beginning...." soon both their eyes were blinded by the brightest of lights, only to find them selves staring down at a torn battlefield. There three of the mightiest were locked in mortal combat
A gigantic dragon was crashing down to the earth. It's blood flooded the land below. Flying down towards the beast she heard a voice call within her mind "my sister... why... why did you both do this. You both sat on your haunches as they exiled me. Was it.... was it wrong for me to pursue what you both sought? To feel that emotion you and Mance tried to hide from me... probably... worry not... I will be erased from time... from the memories of our people... but I hope this moment beats at your conscious like a drum for all eternity. You feared the council... you tricked the boy into helping you fight me... because you're afraid they'll kill him, that they'll use you for their war!"
The earth god attempted to rise once more, only to find himself being pelted by the breath of Mance. It's black flame tore away at the battered plate, forcing the dying god to let out a screech that echoed all throughout the land. Gaia's hazel eye rose to find naga watching him. She was shaking. "Dear sister... I request of you one thing... save them... save my whelps... the kin... they are a key to unshackling you both from the grasp of the council... such funny creatures they are... weaker than us... but... but...Cor...my love... I'm sorry..." the body finally fell, colliding one last time to the earth. It seemed as if the heavens above wept for the once gentle soul.
Naga didn't know whether to celebrate or break down. These new emotions that flooded her mind, was this what Mance called sadness? It was a pain that ravaged through her very soul.
"You see the council had just figured out... they figured out that our balance had taken special interest in the kin. Fell in love with a female from the earth tribe named Cor... a female earth kin, though descended from us, they were thought as inferior copies. So that bond they shared was frowned heavily upon." Closing her eyes she began to recall that meeting. How she attempted to argue with them, but soon their breath turned on her. How they threatened to take it all if Gaia wasn't put down. How they weaved lies into the other clans, stating that he had went rogue. If they would support him, then everything they fought for would be for not. Of course she never told Mance that, he would've had their throats. The last thing she wanted was another fight to break loose.
Though, in hindsight, she should've allowed it. For him to save her from their torturous magic. "Mance... they starting to torture my spirit in an attempt to transform me into the worst of monsters. I feared telling you, feared them hurting you... so they continued to take advantage of me... torturing me further and further in attempt to break me. My nightmares worsen... until... until they made me strike you down." Her body began to quake as the golden tears pelted the child's hide. "I screamed out within that madness... yet I couldn't break myself from it. They succeeded in corrupting my soul... by having me slay you... it was the final nail in my coffin." She was forever damned, just as he was.
"Soon... I will be a mindless husk used to produce powerful war dragons. For this reason soon is why I sealed away our kids... to forever keep your promise... to protect them from the council, and more importantly me." Though it seemed her attempts have all failed. Now she could barely remember the little screeches of their children. All they were were memories of forgotten times. "Turas was never meant to leave my side, his purpose was to be trained and serve as their guardian. Sadly the boys lust for adventure got the better of him, and he left... leaving me to dwell in my pain for so many millennia..." for the longest time Turas was her only anchor. When he left, there was nobody else to save her.
The truth hurt more, yet it was things she could never say before. The peering eyes were ever there, even now she felt uneasy. "I've failed... as your mate, as their mother, and myself. Like I said before, this human is the answer to your redemption... I don't know how, but she will find the answer. But child... you should tell him the truth, don't be like me." Slowly she lifted her head, nuzzling the neck of the shell one last time. She allowed one last image to burn into Mance's mind. One that yo could not witness.
It was the narrowly a week before the execution. Naga was lying in a pool of blood, surrounding her was smashed eggs; Their new brood. Soon several others had entered the room. Their tails dipped in molten gold, they began to repeatedly beat her. Already she was giving up hope. Knowing her mate would be killed, their last clutch destroyed, and soon their only living children would be taken. The saddened emerald eyes began to loose their tone, and soon were replaced with the dull gold. It was already too much, and her magic now freed from Her conscious mind, she lashed out. Slaughtering all that dared to enter the cave. Though they laid dying, the light magic seeped into their scales. Transforming them into horrific monstrosities that were once dragons. These creatures lashed out on all but their new broodmother. Killing anything that dared get close.
That was until the tribes banded together in order to force her to go through with the execution. Seeing Mance again in the pit, she wanted nothing more than to curl next to him, yet the body wouldn't allow it. Instead she lashed out, without word, at her opponent. Butchering him like a poor lamb, until their was no more breath. Once more the corrupted magic seeped into his scales. Not only binding the body, but the soul to this new twisted fate. Though as her beloved laid dead his soul was forever trapped. Leaving the body to be cleaned up by the fools who watched. Then only she remained, sitting back upon her empty throne. Living a life of sorrow and torment. Begging to be set free from her perch, but only to be denied.
Sealing away their children was the hardest thing to do; though necessary. She feared their power going into the wrong hands. Feared that they would transform them into another demon. Hiding them away with the human dragon worshipers was the best solution. They were the strongest of their kind, well versed in both magic and combat. Surely they could protect them. Which it seemed to have been a wise decision for a few millennia. Until that horrid wretch of a man came to the land. Even from here she could sense that foul magic. Hell the human reeked of it. Taking in one last breath, the goddess turned her attention to Yo. The human was studying her, probably pondering on all the new information. "Child... do what I cannot... you are his mate now, and the only one who can save him. Take everything you can learn from these tales... and save him. Please child..."
There was already so much new information. How many more questions it raised. Yet it seemed as if the story was still not fully told. Though that part rested with the spirit of Gaia. A being long dead to the world. "Give me a moment... I need... I need to meditate on this." She had already told Mance that she would save him. Even vowing it to him, she saw little reason to repeat herself to the goddess. After all it was nothing more than a waste of precious time. Sliding her feet back towards her knees, yo sat; head resting downwards. "I feel there is things you wish to discuss my love... please do while I... maul this over." Already she knew this could end in one of two ways. But at the end one of them was going to be hurt.

The closer Naga got, the more aggressive he became towards her. She was completely unfazed by him in this form, calmly resting against him like the olden days. When her tail went for Yo, he growled his objection and tensed; finding Yo safely on his head he relaxed somewhat. This was the Naga he remembered, the one he'd loved and died for. Though he was aware that Yo and Naga must have some rapport with each other, it had probably become fractured as the insanity claimed more of more of Naga.
It should not have surprised him when Naga took them back to that battle, one he had sought so often to forget. It brought him little pleasure to recall that slaughter that started their downfall. How naively he believed in the rumors the council had that because Gaia had gone rogue, the Kins under his leadership could rise against them and slaughter the hatchlings or citizens as revenge. They might even be so bold as to harm the Goddess or their whelps... A swift and brutal strike would quash any chance of a rebellion or worse yet an uprising that may cost more lives.
"Rebellion... They were fearful for their tribes. If Gaia could rally all the Kins against us, the slaughter could have been great. I had a duty to protect my people and my family." Mance said softly, a new hatred was fast growling, his suspicions were slowing being confirmed."I knew it!" He snarled, the veining glowing under the scales as she continued, her tears rolled down his neck... I should have killed them all. Never given them the chance..." His hatred and rage was fast growing palpable around them. If not for Naga pinning him and Yo atop his head, he would already be gone to slay them.
"You did not fail alone. I never should have even started the Council... I had foolishly hoped giving each of the Tribes a voice would make them less inclined to consider uprising against us. I should have just continued to rule by force... I knew fear was a dangerous enough weapon, but paired with cunning?" He snorted, his own anger immense. "We both failed as mates, as rulers and... As their Sire and Dam." The talk of her and the war dragons, that was impossible though, that was his magic to control... Wasn't it? "Naga, that is not..." She cut him off, instead showing him that it was more then possible, it was a reality.
Even as Naga rose off of him and Yo settled herself down into meditation, he stood and began to pace, very much aware of the precariousness of Yo being on his head. "The Council will be executed and replaced for their crimes against you and our whelps." Mance said finally, looking over to Naga. "My Apprentice... I will give her the power to slay them, to control the dead just as I can, to raise them into an army of her own. The Council will fall and in its place will rise a new one, headed by my Apprentice and the Prince of the Dark Kin, the younger brother of the shell I inhabit."
His eyes narrowed as he looked to Naga, "you have an Apprentice as well... A Human female, the mate to the shell I inhabit. I have seen her though his memories, her power is great. She believes she can liberate the Kin from their prison, to unite Humans and Kin..." Trailing off, he carefully lay down again, his senses very aware of how diluted his magic had become. "Perhaps, both Apprentices will be necessary." The growl from deep in his throat continued as he pondered. "After I was put down... What happened to the other tribes?" He would have so much to teach his Apprentice once he returned. It was becoming apparent his Apprentice was becoming all the more valuable, perhaps he would need her to protect Yo sooner then he anticipated.

Yo sat still pondering on the new information that was given to her. It seemed like the tides have changed, yet how was Mance going to handle it? With this new information put out, she could sense the rage taking over once more. With great ease she placed her hand a top the giant's head. It was the first time she was ever thankful for the goddess's presence. "Hey you... I can't think with all your snorting... relax Mance." Her voice was ever so soft as she began rubbing the smoother head scales. It was funny how soft they felt. "Anger will only cause more hate, and with hate you are still imprisoned." Though she had a feeling one day the great dragons would cease to exist.
Though maybe he had a point. If his apprentice was as strong as said, then maybe she too could help with this puzzle. Though she was probably no more than a tot, it would take years of training to harness such knowledge. Sadly that was something Yo didn't have anymore. Most of her students had perished, thus leaving nobody to carry out her will. Though, maybe there was still one. After all, Konoe had apparently been alive all this time. Maybe she was the goddess's chosen. If so then maybe they had a chance. After all the only other to know the summoning ritual had not been seen in three decades. More than likely her old rival was as dead as dead can be.
Naga simply stared into the eyes of the shell. If only things would have played differently. They both shared the blame with the lives of the little ones. Even beyond them. "Mance... I'm prepping the girl to be my replacement. I am not fit to have such power anymore, I'm too unstable to be trusted... one day I will be sure to no longer be this blemish on the land. To ensure the safety of all..." her voice grew weaker and weaker as she continued on. It brought her no joy to think such thoughts, but the corruption was too strong. Once both their minds were gone then there would be no help for this world. Just utter chaos.
"Please... i" before she could continue the small human dared to interrupt once more. Such a forceful thing for something so small.
Before she could continue further, Yo stood up. "You are damning my daughter to your fate! If it was another one of your followers then they'd suffer through the same thing! You realize, you damned fool, that without this kin she could possibly corrode!" Her eyes narrowed as she bit her blackened finger once more and placed it ontop of the child's head. Allowing her own blood to fuse with his scales. "Tell me now, how much did you give her! answer me truthfully goddess or else! I'll take everyone down!" Even her lover seemed to believe She was bluffing. Before anything was said, she twisted her thumb cause a surge of dark magic to pulse. It smashed hard into the goddess causing her to stumble backward. "This child wants you dead for harming my daughter. I can feel his desire, so if I have to I will act as his trigger!" She shouted, her eyes never darting from that of the fallen goddess.
Mance attempted to move her, now knowing full well she meant business. This time, however, she turned against him. "Don't you dare! The same goes for you, lift me up and it'll trigger the surge of magic. And from what I can tell, it's already taken every thing you can to hold him back. So lift me, and we all die. It just means I get a early start on figuring things out." Her eyes returned to that of the goddess. " I can dispell this at any point, or I can let it erupt. Tell me what I want to know!" She ordered once more with her finger still pressed hard against morva's scales.
Naga snarled as she snapped at the air. This human was becoming a nuisance. One day she would pay for her threats. "Filthy human, how dare you threaten me once more! I am your goddess, and I can rid you so easily from this damned world!" As she got up, naga noticed Yo's arm motioning once more. A sudden chill crept up her large spine. Was she afraid? Did she truly feared such a chaotic beast? What madness was this?! "Fine I'll tell you, you pest. My apprentice, Konoe, she wished for the power to save her mate from the control of Mance. But for summoning him back to this realm, she had to be punished. I gave her my arm, but I made sure to dull no pain. I wanted her to feel the transfer of power. To let her screams fill the cavern." Her eyes narrowed as she lowered her head once more. "She survived, and now shares my blood, my power, and my will. Though the stubborn fool still believes it is for the best. For her crimes I share my curse with her." Naga's eyes flashed once more as she debated on what to do next. This human had her in the tightest of spots.
Yo's emerald eyes burned ever so bright as she motioned her hand once more. Another surge of energy shot forth forcing the goddess down once more. "I should end you... for everything you have done, the sins that you have committed and will to my family!" There was no remorse in her voice, no longer did she pity the monster that dared harm her family. How the urge to end all of it grew stronger and stronger. "No..." she whispered softly. "I want you to live with this... to live with the guilt of having one of your daughters slates, to live with the failure of your rule, and to watch the world you try to 'fix' burn before your eyes." Her eyes narrowed once more as she motioned her hand in the opposite direction and withdrew it back into her robes. "Say your goodbyes, then leave this place."

The beast under her seemingly obeyed her as a loyal dog would have, it waited patiently for its opportunity to strike, for its time was coming. It eyed the Goddess it had foolishly been raised to worship and believed to be the Savior of their people. As the human upon its head began to ease off her own magic, the head rose turned towards her and sniffed, the scent was so dim in the recesses of his mind but, he knew this to be true. The Matriarch dismissed the Goddess but, the Goddess you not so easily escape the fangs of an angered mate. "Why should I show you mercy!" The beast snarled as it leapt upon the back of the Divine Dragon, jaws biting to the nape of her neck, talons digging deeply into her scales.
"Everything taught to us... Was a lie wasn't it?" He snarled as he shook his his head, ripping at the flesh. "What did you do to my mate!" His own magic burning powerfully as he forced his way into her memories, watching his beloved Konoe suffer before his very eyes. Her screams filled his mind as he only bit harder and faster, shredding and burrowing his way into her flesh. "You punished her for my sins, for bringing your mate back into this world! How convenient for you. Having your mate back... You hardly seemed to upset about that though?"
Nor was he surprised when he felt Mance upon his back and the bite of the Naginata in his shoulder. "You are endangering the Matriarch." He snarled as his own darkness engulfed the pair of them and placed them safely back on the ground, away from the battle. "As for you Goddess", his eyes narrowed as he also ported himself between the humans and the injured Goddess. "I will let you live today because it is the will of the Matriarch. If you dare to bring harm upon my mate or the Matriarch, you will wish for the mercy I would have given you today. Konoe may be your Apprentice but, she is my mate."
Naga's blood dripped from his jaws and hide, his own veins glowing with his magic. "Leave us." He heard the sound of Mance readying the Naginata behind him, as if he expected retribution to be swift. "Stand down, our battle will not be today." His tail coiled, though his attention was on Naga. Mance might not have it in him to kill her, Morva did.
Mance did not mind finding himself back in Fado's body, the Naginata still obeyed the will of its creator no matter what form he took, but the lack of his magic and wings made using it feel very different. As angry as he was Yo had set his experiment free, the hatred within the beast was quite empowering. "If she turns against us..." Mance gripped the weapon tightly, unsure of what course of action to take - His priority was getting Yo out of this unharmed.

Such ferocity this young whelp had, even for their kind! To go after the goddess with little to no care, it was a testimate to his devotion. Finally her daughter was in good hands, but his responses were still horrifying. What exactly did he see, what had Konoe gotten into? By how vicious his blows were, she could tell that it must've been gruesome. "You just can't stay down can you child?" Yo stated as she began walking closer. Much to Mance's disapproval, she pressed forward. Knowing full well the beast wouldn't harm her. "Please child that is enough." Her voice was stern, yet relaxed. "Keep poking at the hive will stir the bees." She watched the goddess scramble to her feet. The blow must've broken several bones.
Either way the child was skinny but somewhat free from her beloved's grasp. Now she can speak with the only thing that truly new her. Though it seemed too preoccupied with attempting to kill the goddess. "I said enough!" Her voice echoed out one more as she turned toward the goddess. "Leave Naga your stay is no longer welcomed." Continuing forward, Yo placed her hand upon the side of the whelp who wished to sire her daughter. The very same that would help save her people, and possible alter the very course of time itself. "Wouldn't you do the same if it were me? Or would you sit aside and allow her to torture me?" She grinned as he took a step back.
Sure she was weakened, and drained beyond measure but it wouldn't take much to give Mance control once more. Maybe he knew this. "The prince of the kin, the bringer of doom, and the beast who claimed my daughter. I am the new matriarch, and Konoe's mother. You shall listen to my words, and I would wish to hear yours. Till then let the fallen go.... she's-" before she could finish a large flame shot forth from the ground, narrowly singeing her flesh. Looking forward at the narrowly collapsing god is stood a man draped in a bright crimson robe. The man gave a low, yet sickening bow. Revealing the bright Ruby like scales that decorated his brows and neck. His tail was long, longer than that of an average kin's while the tip had large jagged spikes sticking out. The man had a grimacing smile as he stared into Yo's eyes.
"How rude of me, I am Vyafos. Leader of the fire clan, and the newest member of the council." His voice was deep, and foreboding. As if talking to a serpent from the abyss. "Forgive my intrusion but I fear you've narrowly killed my queen... I've wondered where she wandered off too, and it seems she's head first into trouble. Then again you know how that is, don't you Mance?" His gaze focused on the bleeding goddess. She sustained so much damage it was unreal. Turning his head over he saw a sight he thought long dead. The mighty Turas, seed of Gaia. No doubt this was his work, how funny it was to see him so weak.
Sure the last time their eyes met was back when Vyafos was a mere whelp, but he'd never forget him. "I thought he was long dead... that puts a slight damper on things. A damper in deed." Mother worked too hard convincing the fool to leave, and even then the goddess assured the council that the only surviving member of the Turas line was that blonde headed half-breed she kept as a pet, and of course his little side project. Yet having someone with direct blood ties to gaia was too dangerous. Hell, what if there were more crawling about. Judging by the scent in the air that seemed to be the case, yet at the same time it peeked his curiosity. How strong could those whelps be? Just a quarter of his blood dealt devastating damage, even Ugil held devastating power. So what about the others?
Shaking his head he moved forward. His tail whipping about the ground, launching the small stones hit into sea. "Do not fret... I came looking for my queen, I bare no ill will as long as the mutt stands down." Taking in a deep breath, the man raised his arms back to naga. His palm engulfed in flame, he shot a bolt of fire towards the goddess. Pelting against her skin it began to consume her, yet their was no screech. Instead the goddess began to fade away within the flame. "Now Mance, like my mother before me I will bid you ado. Oh... and don't worry about naga, I'll be sure to keep great care of her." Grinning the fire dragon combusted into flames. As his body began to fade he spoke out," worry about your new mate, for the war has just begun." With a light cackle, the man disappeared into the flame. Leaving nothing trace behind.[/red]
Yo on the other hand fell over. Panting heavily she stared out into the night sky. Cursing under her breath that she was way too old to be running with the likes of dragons. Only to find amusement in her own statement. "Prince of the dark... drop form and let me see you. I want to meet the man who truly won over my daughter. And with all threats gone I'd like to speak with you." Once more She found herself being 'saved' by Mance. All he wished was for her to rest. That or to send this whelp back. "No dear this is more important. This child's fate has changed and I want to see what his future holds... if it makes you feel any better... I'll only use a little magic." She gave the lightest of smiles before giving the whelp her full attention.
Meanwhile, back at the castle...
Appearing befoe a small human man, and his icy queen, Vyafos stepped away from the fire. Poor thing looked as if she were knocked out, yet even uncouncious she seemed somewhat alert. What an interesting child. "Awaken little whelp." He ordered softly, as he pressed his hand against Aki's forehead. He couldn't help but to smile as he felt the sweat against his hand. Ice and fire never mixed properly, but if the flames were true then her child was meant for something more. More than what any of these fools could understand. How odd was it that an kin of ice would be the greatest igniter for the world's flame? When her eyes shot open, he placed his finger against her lips, before slowly pulling back. "Shh... child of ice and..." Sniffing the air, his eyes focused down on the child once more before continuing, "silver... I come to you with a promise and of aid." Ever so silently his tail began to wrap about his leg, as he held out his hand. A small flame began to produce from the tips, before igniting into a larger, heatless, fire within the palm. From that fire a charred image appeared, and soon that image split and manifested into three objects. A scale of ruby, a vial of glowing blood, and what appeared to be flesh.
The child seemed confused, though he couldn't blame her. if the roles were swapped, then he would've simply sat and starred. "It is tradition for the male fire dragons to consume the flesh of our fathers when we are of age. It allows the old to merge with the new, so that we gain our souls. If we fail, then we become war dragons. After all that is our curse... to be born with no soul, only flame." Taking in a deep breath, the dragon knelt down to eye level. "The males are war machines, honed to only kill. Females, however, have a low birth rate... and are rare in my clan. For this reason, they are cunning, and lead our clan." It felt odd, she seemed to be attempting to overpower his heat. What an amusing creature. "Child, everything I tell you is important... please listen to me." Sighing loudly, black soot shot from his nostrils pelting the bedside below. "Now where was I? Oh yes... my mother was the one that brought our kind out of the pits of fire below, and allowed us to walk in the sun. Even going as far as gaining a spot upon the council. Better yet... leading it. She had a dream, a dream of freeing all dragons from the control of the gods. So that no whelp will suffer." Waving his hand once more he summoned two more scales. They seemed a lot brighter than the dulled ruby colored one from before.
His eyes left hers, and gazed upon the shining ruby scales below. "She broke the cycle by offering her hide to me... sacrificing her life so that my chains may be broken. For this reason, I carry out her desires to bring freedom to all our kind. To bring us the emotions, the light, and the earth without relying upon the elders to bring them to us. for this reason child of ice... I wish to give you these. I don't know what is compelling me to do so... this is the flesh and scale of my father." slipping it into her hand was the fresh flesh along with the dulled scale. "Now... my finaly gift... the scales and blood of my mother. With these gifts, your child will not only live. But be unshackled from his horrible fate too."
