I like the new layout! biggrin heart I like having everything at the bottom of the page and the new persons items are cute. biggrin

Hello peoples, I just joined recently and all, but anywho..Is it possible to be a ecceltic that studied magic, herbology, spells, etc.. with good and protectorate intentions? I still have christian roots in me, some of which I have no intention of cutting loose and Ive always wanted to help people.

Eclectic means that you kinda pick up things from different places and synthesize them into a new, unique practice with elements of your influences. You can be a Christian inspired witch, but I (and Chels, I think) don't believe in Christian Witches. Check the Christian witch thread for further explaination on that.

I for one used to be a Christian Witch.....I was one when I first joined this guild back in December 2003. I was a witch who remained firmly rooted in the Christian faith for about 4 more months.....which is when I began to look seriously into Paganism as a religion.
To me it wasn't hard to do, because I believed that witchcraft was a craft that you could either tie into your religion or not. The way I tied it in was all the different gods and goddesses were really just aspects of one god and one goddess, who were just aspects of the all-being, all-knowing God in the Christian faith. (It also didn't hurt that my pastor at the time tended to refer to God as Goddess. We didn't know what sex it was, so she lobbeyed back and forth.)

Thanks for helping me out you guys (or girls, whichever). I plan to study all forms of magic, but essentally master the Holy, Divinity and Acolytical Arts before moving into encantations and such. Ill eventually have to study the Darker and Black arts to recognise curses and such, unfortunatelly.

I don't believe with the theory of Christian witches, not their existence, Silvander. xP In theory, if a witch is a Christian then they have to burn themselves at the stake. [Well, ok. So I exagerrate. A bit. ...Oh, all right. You caught me. A lot. But, really - christians are to believe all magic is evil. Witches perform magic. Makes a witch evil. Therefore, if you're a Christian witch you have to condemn yourself as those who practice magic are witches and thus evil...and we just can't have magic mixed in with those holy miracles.] So, in theory...you can't be at peace with yourself if you're a witch and you're a Christian. The two conflict greatly - especially if you're going to tell me you follow the Bible.
..I'll hit you with my Bibles and my confirmation book if you tell me you follow the Bible and your Pastor, but you're a witch and that's totally fine. Seriously. -_-
[Oh, you caught me. I was over exagerrating again. I wouldn't hit anyone with those books. They're books, for crying out loud. Too valuable to smash into a skull unless I were really, really ticked at you. And being hypocritical isn't skull smashing worthy. xD]

I just said I'd follow christian roots and values. I read the bible, and believe it, but interpret it differently. I believe there is indeed more than one god, but the one told in christian faith is the highest of their council. Anywho, how is everyone? surprised

The long Christian Witch thread is in my other pagan guild. "Temple of Whispers". It's an open guild if you wanna check it out and post. I don't remember where the thread is right now. >< I'm such a bad person. I'm distracted though. Renfest tomorrow, my birthday party on Sunday. Grah!
