Shuji had been training out in the forest for some time now, trying to improve on his abilities as much as possible. Things these days were moving along pretty slowly, and Shuji could only imagine that it was due to amount of people that were out trying to find Chaos and the White Hand. Had he been stronger and more readily available, Shuji figured that he might have been sent out to find them as well. However, he had been keeping to himself and making it difficult for the rest of the village to find him.
"Well, I suppose it's time to start working on the next step," he said to himself in the empty forest. He had picked up the weird habit of talking to himself, and was glad that there really wasn't anyone around to catch him doing it. It would have made things a little awkward, especially for the young Jounin. With a grin, he brought his hands together and started to form the seals that he'd need to summon his friend and loyal companion, Tomoyo.
As he focused his chakra, he noticed something seemed a little strange around him. He couldn't get a grasp on what it was, but the surrounding area seemed to be getting hazy. Shaking his head, the young boy started to walk around, having decided that it would be best to wait on his training until he could figure out what was going on. He couldn't sense anyone else around him, but he still couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss. It was as if someone had been watching him the whole time that he was out here, and now they wanted something to play with.
"Alright...let's see what's really going on here," Shuji said to himself as he jumped up into a tree and took a moment to see what was going on.

After several tense minutes of sitting in a tree, Shuji realized that there was in fact nothing strange going on. He was just tensed up, something that didn't really surprise him. With everything that had been going on in the village lately, it would have been impossible for him not to be tense and on edge. There were a great number of the village's strongest shinobi out on a manhunt trying to find Chaos and take care of this White Hand situation once and for all. It didn't help that he had decided to isolate himself in the forest for training either, but that was something that he would have to deal with. With a shrug, the young Jounin hopped down from his tree and went back to his training.
He had planned to summon Tomoyo, in order to work with her some more, but now had decided that he's much rather work on his taijutsu. It seemed like a good idea, especially since that was the one area where he was most lacking, something that was made all too obvious to him during the Jounin exams. Taking a deep breath, Shuji brought his hands together and focused his chakra. With a sudden poof of smoke that quickly dissipated, Shuji was left standing next to a shadow clone. With a nod, they placed themselves at an equal distance apart, and prepared to start the spar.
