We've announced to pretty much everyone. We're living with my parents and will be for the foreseeable future so it wasn't going to take long for them to figure it out anyway. Plus, if I did happen to miscarry, I'd rather have everyone's support than for them to wonder why I'm having a hard time.

We pretty much told everyone right away as well. Mostly because I was waaay too excited not to! Hubby wanted to wait until after I had gone to the doctor. I spilled the beans anyway! blaugh But I think I agree with you Ritza, if something were to happen I would really need the support of my family and my hubby's family (I am pretty close with them too).

*nods* We live with my in-laws too, and were just too excited to not share! I wanted to wait too, in case anything happened, but then we figured the same thing, if something bad DID happen, rather have the support!

I think I'd have a lot of trouble dealing with my mother if she knew I was pregnant and then I miscarried. She's always convinced that I'm stressed out because of my husband when she's the one that stresses me out. If I miscarried and she knew about it, she'd just add to the problem. And if I'm not going to tell her, it's safer just to keep it a secret from everyone. Plus, it's kind of exciting knowing something that no one else knows. blaugh

Yeah, I knew that excitement too.. for all of about 2 hours, before we decided we had to tell razz My moms quite stressful too, ad her and my nana are like chimmneys. And, they won't stop around Elly, which just makes for bad feelings all around, since they don't see her as often as they would like.

Baby shower on the 10th of June.
gonk
I really, really didn't want one, but my mother in law was insistent. It's the first child of that generation and the whole family (my husbands side) has gone crazy over it! His aunt said not to buy newborn diapers yet because she has over 200 to give us!
My family, however, are all the way over in the UK so can only transfer or send money rather than physical gifts due to cost. Not only that, but there have been many children born into that generation already and my sister is due a month before me, so she has my family's full support (mommy's little girl) and a lot of easy hand-me-downs from previous kids where I have to start anew.
I hope this party only lasts for an hour or two and that I'm not made to feel too uncomfortable.

I hope you get enough good gifts to outweigh the annoyance of having to endure a party, Rai. If you're registered somewhere, ask your mother-in-law to make sure she puts that information on the invitations. At least then you'll get some stuff you need. Good luck!

Oh, that reminds me! A friend of mine is supposed to be planning a baby shower for me sometime this month, but I haven't heard anything yet! We wanted to wait until after the baby was born so we wouldn't get all neutral colored stuff (despite 3 ultrasounds trying to find out gender, we never could tell!) Did you know that Target baby registry won't let you enter an expected due date that's already passed? I need to write them and suggest they change it to expected due date or actual birthdate for those who prefer to wait until after!
Question: Has anyone who has had a C-section remember being told by their OB that it's suggested they wait at least a year and a half before getting pregnant again to let their body fully heal/recover? I'm just wondering if this is the norm, because although I want to leave the next pregnancy up to chance, and wouldn't MIND so much if it was sooner than my last infertility troubles have let me get pregnant again, if it's truly a risk to my body to get pregnant again in less than a year and a half, we may have to start looking into the condoms again, much as I don't want to! rolleyes

Ive known some people who don't wait and are fine. I think they just say that to be safe. Don't wanna put you and your baby at risk.

I had a c-section with my son a little over a year ago and I am pregnant again already. My ob didn't say and hasn't said anything about getting pregnant again so soon. I guess it varies from ob to ob? *shrugs*

Syllandra I had a c-section with my son a little over a year ago and I am pregnant again already. My ob didn't say and hasn't said anything about getting pregnant again so soon. I guess it varies from ob to ob? *shrugs* taken from americanbaby.com Length of time since your cesarean: Ideally, a minimum of nine months will have elapsed before you conceive again. The more time your body has to recover after the surgery, the stronger it will be for the next birth. I'm shocked your ob never said anything about possible risks. Most ob's say nine months MINIMUM ideally 18-24 months. But he knows your body better so perhaps he thinks you were healed enough. After all no two women are the same. And congrats on the new little bundle. 4laugh EDIT:Looking at your tickers it was pretty much 9 months in between which is probably why your ob isn't worried. Do you plan on another csection?

Thanks Monkey! It was about 9 months when I became pregnant again. I think I have healed pretty well but of course I am no doctor and I can't see what I look like on the inside! wink I wasn't planning on getting pregnant so fast either (on the first try at that). I had just went off the BC and we figured it would take a couple months at the *very* least!
As for another c-section, I don't know. Ideally I would love to to for a VBAC but I don't think any Ob's/midwives in my area will try for one. I have been doing a lot of research and my next appointment Thursday I plan to talk to them about it. I am hoping that they can at least point me in the direction of an Ob or midwife that will if they definatly will not. I love the Ob/Midwife team I go to now (they delivered Ethan) but I think if I can find someone who says I have a chance at a VBAC and is willing to try as well I will switch.

Syllandra, this time only took one month TTC for us, too. I didn't expect for it to happen so fast either. Another thing that I didn't expect to happen so fast is me starting to show. It's a little disconcerting to be starting to show a little bit at <6 weeks along.

I know what you mean Ritza!! I had people asking me when I was due at about 3 months along! gonk I mean I knew after the first they say you show sooner but dang I didn't think it would be that soon. The first time anyone asked me when I was due with Ethan I was closer to 6-7 months along.
